Which country produces lenovo s60 phones. Ideal for every day: Overview of the Lenovo S60-a smartphone. Battery life

The Chinese manufacturer Lenovo has long picked up the key to the hearts and wallets of domestic consumers. The secret of the popularity of its products is quite simple: modern design, good functionality and reasonable prices. Smartphone Lenovo S60 was no exception to this rule.

The S line of models was conceived as a competitor for the iPhone. This is not about the feature set, but rather about the appearance of the devices. Smartphone Lenovo S60, released in the first quarter of 2015, continues this tradition. The device is similar to the products of the American manufacturer in terms of the radius of rounding of the corners, the location of the cameras and the presence of speaker grills. Insofar as Lenovo S60 is a budget version of the iPhone, its body is not metal, but plastic. There are white, yellow, black and pink color versions. The latter is only available in the Chinese market.

In addition to the smartphone itself, the kit includes a charger, a USB cable, a headset, a transparent case for a smartphone, a protective film for the screen and a special clip for removing SIM cards.

Specifications

The screen diagonal is 5 inches. The weight of the device is 128 g, the length is 143 mm, the width is 72, and the thickness is 7.7. The smartphone fits comfortably in the hand.

Lenovo S60 works on the Android mobile platform in version 4.4, but there is also an update for the fifth release.

2 GB RAM and quad-core processor provide high performance smartphone. The volume of the built-in memory card reaches 8 GB. The smartphone does an excellent job with its functions, only heavy games can make it work with a delay.

The device is equipped with two cameras with a resolution of 5 and 13 megapixels, thanks to which the pictures are very high quality. The screen has 16 million colors and a resolution of 294 ppi.

When using the charger that comes with the smartphone, it is fully charged in just over two hours.

Although a budget smartphone Lenovo S60 and lagging behind more expensive competitors in terms of functionality, it will be an ideal choice for those users who are looking for a stylish modern smartphone and do not particularly need a wide range of functions.

The appearance of the Lenovo S60-a is interesting in that it slightly resembles the design of the iPhone 6 - similar corner radii, mutually rounded edges around the perimeter and holes for speakers in the bottom end of the case, a similar location for the rear camera.

Dark gray plastic looks stricter, white body gives a feeling of lightness. Although the smartphone itself is not heavy - total 128 g, one might say - almost weightless, compared with modern giants with a screen more 5.5 inches.

By the way, the body plastic is glossy, which certainly affects the appearance: when it is clean, it looks smart and polished, and when it has collected fingerprints, it looks sloppy. However, the manufacturer took care of the protection and completed his offspring transparent bumper cover made of polycarbonate, covering the entire body, except for the screen. And the latter comes with a protective film designed to protect it from accidental scratches.

But we liked the screen without it - the glass has an oleophobic coating and fingerprints on it remain to a lesser extent and are easily erased with just one pass of a soft cloth.

Speaking about the appearance, we note that the designers conveniently positioned the power key - it is just under the middle finger if you hold the smartphone with your left hand, and under the big one if you hold it with your left hand.

Causes alertness that the keys are the same glossy, rounded and made in the color of the case. The manufacturer did not make any ribbing or protrusions. Therefore, grope them tactile pretty hard.

On the left side, there are two flush slots - one for two SIM cards (micro and nano form factor) and one for a MicroSD memory card. When installing a SIM card, keep in mind that when using two cards, 4G data transfer technology will only be available on slot 1 (nano form factor). With one SIM card, 4G is also available on slot 2 (micro).

By the way, thanks to the support of two standby modes both SIM cards work at the same time, and you can receive calls to any of them. While using one SIM card, the other is automatically put into standby mode.

You can open the slots only with the included key (but you can also try with a paperclip). The holes are made in the trays themselves, so you need to be careful when pressing, not to crack the plastic tray.

Under the screen there are three functional touch buttons, which the manufacturer decided not to highlight. The icons on them are dimly marked, therefore, all hope is for the user's visual memory.

Above the screen, in addition to the speaker, front camera and proximity and lighting sensors, there is also a status indicator hidden under white paint - it lights up while the device is charging. When it's over, it just goes out.

The rear camera and flash are slightly recessed into the body, which means that their glass won't scratch the table. But the downside of this solution may be the accumulation of dirt at the edges of the camera when wiping it.

Screen and sound

Turning on the Lenovo S60-a screen for the first time causes a storm of sensations. Bright, juicy colors of the wallpaper screen literally attack the user's optic nerve, convincing him that no one else has such a colorful screen.

The screen is really bright and the colors are rich and natural. It is comfortable to work with the device on the street in the dim sun already at a brightness of a little more than half the settings scale. IPS matrix with HD resolution (1280x720) very economical, and with prolonged use of the screen, the battery does not drain much.

However, the reverse side of efficiency is not very large viewing angles - when you deviate from the perpendicular in any direction, the picture darkens, but not much. White color, in comparison with the screens of other smartphones, is perhaps the most natural.

As for the sound, it is worthy of praise. During a conversation, the voice of the interlocutor is clear, sonorous and clear. The call speaker does not wheeze, moderately saturated with high and low frequencies.

Music playback test through the built-in player showed a good study of the details of the sound composition and soft bass even without using the equalizer. Music lovers will surely like the sound.

The same goes for audio in videos. The built-in player is capable of playing most AVI movies and some MKV with sound without any problems. But you need to be prepared that the downloaded movie will play without sound. Rectify the situation a third party player will help, for example, MX Player with an AC3 codec loaded from the Web.

Filling and performance

The Lenovo S60-a uses a modern budget and at the same time quite powerful 64-bit 4 core Qualcomm MSM8916 processor Snapdragon 410 clocked 1.2 GHz.

The chip is responsible for graphics in games Adreno 306. Together with the presence on board 2 GB RAM this ensures good performance in any applications and games. Compared to solutions based on old MTK processors, you will not experience discomfort either in the interface itself or when scrolling through the pages of sites with an abundance of graphics. In the AnTuTu test, the device scored 23310 points.

In comparison, his older brother Lenovo S90 with a metal case, but with the same filling, scored significantly less - 19 900 . Moreover, our test subject slightly, but surpassed the flagship LG G3 in processing integers in terms of RAM and CPU speed.

The smartphone will not stumble when playing video in Full HD, including over the network. The only videos recorded by our own camera built-in player reproduces well interface slows down, and, for example, pause or squander not the first time.

In addition to web surfing and video, the smartphone does an excellent job with hardware-demanding games. In particular, the manufacturer has already installed games such as Asphalt 8, Real Footbal 2015, Spiderman, etc. on the device.

The built-in memory of the device is only 8 GB, however, with the help of memory card integration, this disadvantage can be easily leveled.

A little about the interface

Lenovo S60-a interface introduces proprietary VIBE UI 2.0 add-on. The OS out of the box is Android 4.4.4 KitKat. But, in the process of testing, our device received an update over the air to the version 5.02 .

It had almost no effect on the appearance. Users who are accustomed to the standard interface of android devices, the VIBE UI interface may be somewhat confusing, because. this shell does not have a collection of applications, and the list of settings has been completely redesigned.

For those beginners, as part of the installed software, there is a special application "Tutorial", which clearly shows how to use most of the smartphone's functions.

In general, the interface is convenient, but the menu font seemed small to us, and the letters are too tight, which can cause discomfort for people with impaired vision. In the notification bar, you can turn on the display of the battery charge in percent, which is convenient. But for some reason, the developers put the numbers in the battery icon itself, making them small and hard to read.

From installed applications to us I really liked the antivirus package Security, which includes user data protection, theft protection, junk file cleanup and backup.

But unfortunately after updating to OS version before 5.02 this is a wonderful app disappeared without a trace from the application, as well as a number of other handy programs, such as the calendar. We hope that the company will somehow return these wonderful applications to users of updated smartphones.

Rear and front cameras

The S60 has a 13 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash as the main camera. The application interface is simple and easy to use, but also provides many shooting modes.

Price: about 14,000 rubles.

If a couple of years ago we were told that smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer Lenovo would be popular and actively sold on the Russian market, then many would have doubts. But they have taken a big step to win the trust and respect of consumers.

Lenovo has kindly provided the editors of AndroidLime with a white smartphone Lenovo S60-a. It belongs to the middle class of smartphones, it began to be sold in Russia in May 2015. The average price of a gadget in stores is 13-15 thousand rubles.

Specifications

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor running at 1.2 GHz;
  • graphics accelerator Adreno 306;
  • 2 GB of RAM;
  • 8 GB of physical memory (4 of which are occupied by the operating system). The volume can be expanded with a standard microSD memory card up to 32 GB;
  • 13 megapixel main camera and 5 front camera;
  • battery 2150 mAh;
  • two sim cards.

Equipment

The Lenovo S60 arrived in a compact box, very reminiscent of that of the iPhone. The kit includes:

  • charger (power supply and USB cable);
  • tangle-free in-ear headphones;
  • documentation and a clip for inserting a sim card.

The kit is standard, but the headphones deserve special attention. Not only do they not get tangled and look quite stylish, but they also give out a decent and loud sound. The headset fits comfortably in your ears without falling out during sudden movements, and for convenience there is a call accept button.

Design

At the first glance at the Lenovo S60, associations immediately arise with the latest iPhone. The gadget is similar to the American flagship - the same smoothed body edges and rounded corners.

Another striking similarity is the main camera, flash and their location. Fortunately, the Chinese manufacturer did not equip the gadget with a flat antenna, as in the same iPhone 6.

The entire body of the smartphone is made of glossy, pleasant to the touch plastic. The device is firmly held in the hand and does not slip.

A slight inconvenience is delivered by the unlock button. It is located in the middle of the right side of the gadget, below the volume rockers. When you hold the smartphone with one hand, reaching for this button is not very convenient. Although, given the large diagonal and dimensions of the device, it is probably not better to place it.

The front panel of the device is standard - the front camera, the light sensor and the speaker are located on the top, the classic control keys are located on the bottom, which for some reason are not highlighted.

Dimensions 72×143.3×7.7 mm, weight 128 grams. In general, the device looks quite modern and beautiful.

Screen

Lenovo S60 is equipped with a 5-inch display with a resolution of 720×1280. IPS-matrix provides wide viewing angles of almost 180 degrees. The pixel density of 294 ppi is a decent indicator for the average price category. When testing the device, there were no problems with the screen brightness - even in sunny weather it is enough for any operations. Autocorrect works properly and in a timely manner.

Lenovo S60 gaming performance

Despite the fact that the gadget has frankly average characteristics, it coped quite well with many heavyweight games.

The latest version of the fighting game slows down a bit, fps is low, but you can play, the graphics are at a high level.

Cool shooter from Gameloft - - runs almost without glitches. Rare slowdowns are noticeable at difficult moments when blood splatters or something special happens.

A more lightweight game works without the slightest problem.

From the above examples, we can conclude that the Lenovo S60 can easily cope with many games, with the exception of projects with top graphics.

Tests in benchmarks

As expected, we tested the device in different benchmarks.

The result in the popular showed 21,380 "parrots". This, of course, is not for 60,000, like at, but the indicator is not bad for a smartphone for 13-15 thousand.

Testing Lenovo S60 in GFX Benchmark.

Summarizing the test results, we can say that the smartphone has an average performance. Of course, he can not compete with the flagship, but in its price segment, the device will not get lost.

cameras

The Lenovo S60 has a 13-megapixel main camera, autofocus, LED flash and 3x zoom. The camera is quite decent, the photos are excellent, especially in bright daylight. Video writes in Full HD (1080p).

In poorer lighting, as expected, the quality of the pictures drops (look at the cat). But if you shoot something close, the flash works great, and the photos come out cool (guitar).

The front-facing 5-megapixel camera does an excellent job of its true task - chatting on Skype. But it is also suitable for the ubiquitous selfie. Not like the camera of the sixth iPhone, but still.

Interface and system

Lenovo S60 runs on Android 5.0.2. This is very pleasing, since not every smartphone in the mid-range price category has received an update. Not every. Also in the gadget there is a proprietary interface Vibe UI, which adds opportunities for personalizing the desktop, the appearance of icons, the lock screen and wallpaper. There are also different themes here.
