How to disassemble Asus K series notebook. How to disassemble ASUS X53S notebook. Dust cleaning

First, a little background. This laptop came to me after soda was spilled on it. And after a preliminary inspection, it became clear that disassembly of the Asus X502C was inevitable. The reason for this is that it was not detected in the BIOS. HDD... Plus, it was necessary to clear all the internal space of sticky slurry and at the same time solve the problem of loud operation, accompanied by a decent heating of the case. So let's move on directly to how to disassemble an Asus X502C laptop. This is not so difficult to do. First, turn off the laptop, disconnect the power supply, fold the lid and turn it upside down. The picture below shows all the bolts that need to be unscrewed. There will be 11 of them in total.

Put the unscrewed bolts in a separate pile so as not to confuse them with others, of which there will be plenty. Next, we put the laptop on the bottom and open the screen. Further disassembly of the Asus X502C will be performed in this position. Removal of the top panel is carried out together with the keyboard. This requires a flat screwdriver. With its help, we carefully pry the panel from any edge so that a small click is heard. It will indicate that the retainer has come off.

Then you can carefully remove the panel with your hands. But it's much easier to just run a flat screwdriver along the entire face. At the same time, all the latches located on the front side will easily open and the panel will come off without any problems. And the side and rear latches will open by themselves when the panel is lifted further. It should be noted that this way of opening will not affect the appearance in any way. The joints between the bottom and the panel with the keyboard are made using a rubberized layer, which is not so easy to deform.

So the front side is open. But do not immediately try to remove it completely, since power cables from the keyboard and from the touchpad are suitable for this panel.

Therefore, before removing the panel, disconnect the loops. To do this, we put our hand in and unfasten the fixing latches.

Everything. The panel can be completely removed. To perform such an operation, nothing else interferes. The disassembly of the Asus X502C, if you need to get only to this level, is complete. Further, you can perform other smaller operations.

In 95% of such cases, disassembling the laptop and replacing the thermal paste in it helps.

This is what this article will be about, in which, among other things, you will find detailed video instructions for disassembling this laptop.

ASUS K55DR laptop heats up - what is the reason?

But, over time, dust accumulates in the laptop, and hot air, instead of freely leaving the laptop, begins to "race" inside the case, causing overheating.

You can read more about the problem of overheating in my article on.

Many manufacturers do not accept warranty obligations if the device has been disassembled by the user. If you do not want to void the warranty for your device, check the warranty conditions in the documentation or with the device manufacturer.

Used tools

Remove the battery. Remove the screw that secures the bottom cover.

Remove the four screws located on the bottom of the laptop that secure the bottom cover.

Slide the bottom cover in the direction shown. Remove the bottom cover.

Access to memory modules, hard disk, CMOS battery, cooling fan, DVD drive, card wireless and a heatsink with a processor.

Remove the screw securing the DVD drive. Slide the DVD drive to the right and remove it from the laptop case.

Remove the four screws securing the hard drive. Slide the hard drive to the right to disconnect it from the connector on the motherboard.

Remove the hard drive assembly from the laptop chassis. Now, if necessary, you can remove the hard drive from the tray and replace it with a new one. As you can see, this is a SATA drive.

Slide the latches on either side of the memory module to the sides, and when the memory module slides out of the slot at a 30-degree angle, gently remove it. This laptop model has only one slot for a memory module. It looks like some of the memory is integrated into the motherboard. I cannot say with confidence that all Asus K series laptops use only one slot for a memory module.

Remove the three screws securing the fan. Disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard. The fan can now be removed.

Removing the keyboard

The keyboard is secured with small spring clips. In the photo they are marked with yellow arrows.

To open the latch, simply push it in with a sharp object while lifting the keyboard upward.

When all latches are open, you can lift the keyboard as shown in the following illustration.

Gently flip the keyboard over and place it on the palm rest. To disconnect the keyboard cable, you must open the connector latch.

The keyboard cable is sandwiched between the white base of the connector and the brown retention tab. The following illustration shows the connector with the latch closed.

Slide the brown tab about 2 mm to the left (never more). The locking tab should remain on the white base. The following illustration shows a connector with an open latch. You can now disconnect the keyboard cable from the connector.

Finally, carefully remove the keyboard from the laptop case and replace it with a new keyboard if necessary.

Reassemble in reverse order.
