MyPublicWiFi is a free program that allows you to create a virtual access point to the Internet, sometimes pronounced in Russian as My Public Wi-Fi. With it, you can turn a simple laptop into a Wi-Fi router. The utility is useful only if a Wi-Fi adapter is present on the computer (PC).

Installation and configuration

You can download the MyPublicWiFi program on the official website. Then follow the installation instructions:

How to use the program

To correctly use and configure the application on Windows 7/8/10, it is recommended to study its functionality:

Frequent problems

A fairly common problem is that PC goes to sleep and the distribution of the Internet stops. To fix this, you need to do the following:

These manipulations will allow uninterrupted access to the wireless network.

MyPublicWiFi is not working

In some cases, problems appear that prevent the application from working correctly. All of them are quickly eliminated.

Administrator rights are missing

Sometimes the application does not work because it was launched without administrator rights... To fix this problem, we recommend that you do the following:

Disabled Wi-Fi Adapter

In some cases, the My Public Wi-Fi program is running correctly, but the Internet is not being distributed. This suggests that on PC disconnected Wi-Fi adapter... To enable it, press the Fn key combination and the one with the radio tower icon.

You can also turn on the adapter and via OS interface(on Windows 8/10), namely via Action Center. To call it, you need to press the key combination Win + A or just click on the Internet connection icon on the bottom panel. After clicking on the WiFi icon, this will activate the adapter.

The program is blocked by antivirus

The utility May Public Wi-Fi, by its work, makes adjustments to the operation of the entire network. Because of this, it can be blocked by the antivirus installed on the PC. To verify this, it is recommended disable antivirus for a while. Then run the utility. If it works without problems, then the antivirus does not allow it to fully perform its functions.

Mypublicwifi does not share internet

Perhaps such a problem as the lack of distribution from the program when connected to an access point. This is due to the fact that in the settings tethering is not allowed.

To fix this, you need to launch MyPublicWiFi and go to the tab Setting... You need to put a checkmark over the connection selected for distribution.

Computer did not restart after installation

The application may not work correctly if the OS is not restarted after installation. In this case, you just need to restart your PC and the utility will work.

Incorrect login or password

It is important to use only English letters without spaces when creating a name. Even a space at the end can create problems. If you cannot connect to the point, then you should restart the utility and re-enter your username and password.

The note! Use only English alphabet for login. For a password - numbers, English letters, symbols.

Viruses on a laptop

The program may not work correctly due to the presence of virus threats on the PC. It is recommended that you install a reliable antivirus and scan computer for viruses. If they are found, follow the prompts of the antivirus and eliminate them.

Mypublicwifi - program reviews

Many users point out that Mypublicwifi is a very useful application. Among its advantages are:

  • ease of use;
  • complete replacement of the router;
  • the ability to limit traffic.

Among the disadvantages only the absence of the Russian language in the official version is highlighted.

mHotspot is a unique free software that lets you share Wi-Fi from any computer. Such a program will save the situation when access to the Internet is possible only with a built-in or USB modem or a local network, and a Wi-Fi network is required, which will provide access to the network for a phone and tablet running on Android or any other operating system.

Windows hasn't developed any Wi-Fi distribution software at this time. Therefore, users have to find a way out in such situations on their own and download the necessary program from third-party developers. However, more and more such programs bring more trouble, not solving the main problem, since they are usually paid, and it can be difficult to find them. mHotspot is one of these free programs that make it possible to turn a laptop or computer into a router, it will distribute Wi-Fi.

How to use the mHotspot program?

This is the easiest-to-use Russian version of mHotspot. It will allow you to turn your laptop or computer with a Wi-Fi module, as well as an Internet connection, into a real Wi-Fi access point. This is usually necessary if the house needs Internet access for a short time from several devices at the same time.

Using mHotspot is pretty simple. There are no complicated settings and options in it. The adjustment does not take much time and is performed almost automatically. You will need to come up with a name for the Wi-Fi network, your computer or laptop will distribute it. The program allows you to connect several computers to a Wi-Fi network at once, but no more than ten computers at a time.

The mHotspot interface is extremely simple and concise, available for free. The main window of the program contains as much information as possible about how many clients are connected to the network at the moment, as well as the amount of received, transmitted data, download speed. There is also a tab called "Clients" in the program. Through it, you can see which specific device is connected to your network. Internet connection through the mHotspot program is highly reliable. The connection is made with the support of several encryption algorithms at the same time. If you decide to download the new version of mHotspot for free and install it on your computer, you don't have to worry about a data leak.

When you download the mHotspot tethering software for Windows and install it on your computer, you need to follow the instructions below. To create a Wi-Fi network that runs smoothly, edit the following lines:

  • Hotspot Name- you must specify the name of the access point, which will allow you to find the wireless Wi-Fi network distributed by your computer.
  • Password- be sure to enter a password that is at least eight characters long.
  • Internet Source- the correct filling of the line is an important point, otherwise the smartphone will connect to the network, but will not have access to the Internet. A drop-down list will appear in front of you, from which you will need to select a network connection with access to the network.
  • Max Client- in this line you can select the number of devices that can simultaneously connect to your network (no more than 10) via mHotspot for Windows.

MHotspot works with Windows7, 8, Windows 10.

mHotspot is an excellent program with which you can create your own wireless Wi-Fi network using a laptop, computer with a Wi-Fi adapter, or an Android smartphone. All you need is for your device to have access to the Internet and to have this program installed on it. You do not need to install any additional modules on your PC.

MHotspot is distributed free of charge, suitable for PCs with the operating system Windows 8, 9, 10. The Russian interface language is not provided - everything is in English, but this should not cause any difficulty in using, since there are few settings and everything is very simple.

The archive will contain a file for installing the program. Double click on it with the mouse.

In the first window, click on the "Next" button.

The line will indicate the path where the program will be installed. You can leave it that way. If you want to change it, click “Browse” and select the desired directory. Click Next.

Specify what the folder will be called on the Start menu and continue.

One more offer - we also refuse it.

By the way, when I downloaded the program from the official site, it was because of these suggestions that the browser marked it as a "potentially dangerous file". The program is absolutely safe, and you can refuse ads that appear during the installation process.

When everything is ready, click "Install".

After the completion of the installation process - "Completing", you can uncheck the "Launch mHotspot" box, if you do not need to run the utility immediately, and click "Finish".

A window will also appear "How do you want to open?"... Select a browser, uncheck the box next to "Always use ..." and click "OK". As a result, the developer's page on the Internet will open with gratitude that you have downloaded the utility.

We figured out the installation. Now let's take a look at how to use and properly configure mHotspot to get everything working.

After the first launch, the following window will appear. It indicates the main points to which you need to pay attention:

1. Make sure the Wi-Fi adapter on the laptop is turned on.

2. If you have any problems, you can contact Support.

3. You can write to Support directly from the program window. To do this, click on the green button with a question mark.

4. Go to the "Settings" section to make them for a specific user.

Note that this window will appear every time the program is launched. If you do not need it, check the box "Don`t show again". Click “Close” to close the window.

The main window of the program looks like this. Let's open the "Settings"

Here, check the boxes you want:

1. Launch with Windows.

2. Automatically create an access point.

3. Always minimize to tray.

4. Always on top of other windows.

5. Show pop-up notifications.

6. Auto-update of the list of connected users.

7. Automatically check for updates.

If you click "Reset to Defaults" all checkboxes will be checked as they were by default. To save the settings and close the window, click on the cross.

To create an access point, you need to fill in the "Hotspot Name" field - a name (you can come up with any one) and "Password" - a password (at least 8 characters). To view the password, click "Show Password". Next, in the line "Internet Source" select an available Internet connection. Specify the number of users who can connect at the same time - "Max Clients" (maximum can be selected 10). To start distributing the Internet, click "Start Hotspot".

If the field "Hotspot" is "ON" - then your access point is working and you can connect to it, if "OFF" - then you are not distributing the Internet.

To terminate the created access point, click on the "Stop Hotspot" button.

The bottom block has three tabs. On the first one - "Hotspot" - you can see how many devices are connected - "Clients connected"; how much data is sent ("Sent") and received ("Received"); the total amount of transmitted data ("Total"); download speed ("Upload") and download ("Download").

For example, having connected one device to the created Wi-Fi, the numbers began to change.

The second tab "Clients" will display the name of the connected device, IP and MAC addresses.

Even after updating the list ("Refresh Clients"), nothing appeared here. Although I connected my phone and used the Internet on it.

The third tab "News" is advertising. It will open most often: when you open a program, close any window (for example, with settings), and the like.

I hope that now you will not have any difficulties with installing and configuring the mHotspot software for distributing Wi-Fi. Download the utility and at any time you can create your own network, without buying a router, and start using the Internet from your phone, tablet, smart watch and similar gadgets.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is used for monitoring, alerting, and managing devices on a network. The protocol consists of a set of standards for network management, including the Application Layer protocol, database schema, and a set of data objects. SNMP can receive various information (uptime, performance counters, device parameters, etc.) from any network devices: switches, servers, routers or simple computers on which the SNMP agent is installed.

In Windows 10, SNMP is available as a separate Windows component and is not installed by default. Let's take a look at how to install and configure SNMP in Windows 10.

Installing SNMP Service in Windows 10

You can check if the SNMP service is installed on your system using the PowerShell cmdlet:

Get-Service -Name snmp *

You can install SNMP service through the control panel. Go to Control Panel \ All Control Panel Items \ Programs and Features \ Turn Windows features on or off).

In the list of components, select Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) / protocol, and WMI SNMP Provider / WMI Provider for SNMP (provides access to SNMP information through the Windows Management Instrumentation interfaces) and click OK.

Alternatively, you can install SNMP services from the PowerShell command line:

Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -online -FeatureName SNMP

Configuring SNMP Service in Windows 10

After installation, SNMP services should start automatically. Open the Services management console (services.msc). Two new services should appear in the list of services:

  • SNMP Service- This is the main SNMP agent service that monitors activity and sends information;
  • SNMP Trap- receives trap messages from local or remote SNMP agents, and forwards the messages to SNMP managers running on this computer.

Open the properties of the SNMP service. If it is stopped, start it by clicking the Start button and change the Startup type to automatic.

Go to the Agent tab. Fill in the contact and location fields (here you can specify the user's contact name and computer location), and select the list of services whose data you want to collect and send to the monitoring device.

The following service types are available:

  • Physical
  • Applications
  • Internet
  • End-to-end
  • Datalink and subnetwork

Go to the Security tab. Here you can configure different security settings for different SNMP servers.

In the list Accepted community names lists the community names whose SNMP hosts are authenticated to send SNMP requests to this computer.

Community is a name that has the same functions as a username and password.

Click the button Add and specify the Community name and one of five access levels (None, Notify, READ ONLY, READ WRITE, READ CREATE). READ WRITE is the maximum level of access at which the SNMP management server can make changes to the system. In monitoring systems, it is usually sufficient to select READ ONLY, while the monitoring server can only poll the system, but not make changes.

Advice... You can select the ‘Accept SNMP packages from any host’ / Accept SNMP packages from these hosts option, but this is not secure.

Save changes and restart SNMP service.

This completes the configuration of the SNMP service in Windows 10. If you need to enable SNMP on multiple computers at once, you can remotely install and configure services using PowerShell or GPO.

Let's get down to business. We need to create a virtual WI-FI point, then share the existing Internet connection to this access point.
A small program "Mhotspot" is responsible for creating an access point. The program does not require installation and consists of one file. You will find the download link at the end of the article.

We launch "Mhotspot" and see the following

The mhotspot program window with three buttons "SETUP HOTSPOT", "START", "STOP". First, press SETUP HOTSPOT.

You need to enter the following data in the appropriate fields: in the "Hotspot name" field, enter the name of the access point, then what we write here will be visible to devices when searching for points. In the "Password" field, enter a password with a length of at least 8 characters. It is needed so that only those who know the password can connect to the access point. Let your neighbors know if you want to share the internet with them. Click "OK" to save the changes. Now we just have to click "Start" and create an access point. The second step: setting up the distribution of the Internet through an existing Internet connection. First, go to Start - Control Panel - Network and Internet - Network and Sharing Center - Change adapter parameters.

There we find "Wireless Network Connection 2", make sure that the text "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" appears in the tooltip when you hover over it. Let's rename it to "Virtual WiFi" for the convenience of further configuration. Now we find your active connection. For me it is carried out through, you may have something else, but it does not matter in principle. Go to the connection properties, go to the "Access" tab. There we set the checkboxes as shown in the figure.

That is, we put the checkboxes “Allow other network users to use the Internet connection of this computer” and “Allow other network users to control the shared access to the Internet connection”, and in the “Home network connection” list, select our “Virtual WiFi”. Reconnect your main internet connection and the WiFi hotspot will work.

Now you can use your own access point. To connect devices to the Internet, you will need to find it and enter the password we specified earlier when creating a point in the Mhotspot program.

After restarting the laptop (computer), to enable the distribution of the Internet via WiFi, you only need to launch the Mhotspot program once and click Start. The program remembers the point name and access password you entered earlier. After that, you can close the program and use the Internet.

Question: Is it possible to connect to the Internet in this way from a laptop on which Windows XP is installed?

Answer: If you set up the distribution as described above, it does not matter what operating system is on the laptop that is going to use the shared Internet. Even from a phone that supports Wi-Fi, you can connect.

I myself use such a distribution of the Internet and enter the network from the phone at the expense of the laptop. My netbook samsung n230 distributes the Internet at a distance of about 30 meters with one wall. One of these days I will check without a wall and unsubscribe.

added December 1, 2012: Today I finally checked the netbook for the range of WiFi Internet distribution on the street without obstacles. I got a very good result. Having put the netbook with the distribution at one point, I moved about 73 meters from him (another's garden was already beginning). At the same time, the Nokia E51 phone saw the point and showed the quality of communication in 76 percent... Launched Youtube app on my phone and watched a couple of videos. There was no jerking. After that I tried to go online through Opera Mini. Typed this site and found a new one
