New sony xperia tablet z5. A plausible concept for the Sony Xperia Z5 Tablet Ultra. Pros and cons of Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact

Awaiting Sony's next big release.

Update (01/19/17): Sony didn't release a new flagship tablet in 2016, but with MWC 2017 approaching, we might see one very soon.

Sony offers a completely new line of smartphones with the letter X, but the manufacturer did not drop a word about whether this series will receive a tablet. It may be that Sony has decided to ditch the Xperia Z range altogether, and if so, the new Xperia Z6 Tablet may not see the light of day.

Sony released the Xperia Z5 at the very end of 2015, but the manufacturer's last tablet was. A whole generation has passed, and more recently Sony has shown little interest in tablets or the Xperia Z range in general, releasing the Xperia X and Xperia XZ instead. Thus, we have been waiting for a new product for a long time.

Tablet Sony Xperia The Z4 Tablet was a good try, justifying its place in, at least until it came out and. However, many things Sony could have done better, and at the end of this article you will find out what we would like to see. Until now, there have been rumors on the net about when the tablet will see the light of day, so let's figure it out.

In pursuit!

  • What is it? Sony's next flagship tablet.
  • When to expect? Possibly announced at MWC 2017 in February.
  • How much will it cost? Most likely about (52,000 rubles).

dateexitSony Xperia Z6 Tablet

Mobile World Congress 2016 has passed. We expected Sony to show the new tablet at the Barcelona event, but instead we saw the Xperia X range as well as a few concept devices.

The Z6 Tablet skipped IFA 2016, after which we received no rumors about an upcoming release date, so the best guess is one of the 2017 shows. This means that we can see it at MWC 2017 at the end of February, unless the tablet comes out earlier, but then Sony did Good work over hiding it from the public.

Perhaps much more likely is the tablet's bid for the IFA show in September 2017. Although, if the tablet goes into release, do not expect it to be called the Xperia Z6 Tablet. Sony has renamed the X and XZ series of smartphones, so we are waiting for the Xperia X Tablet, Xperia XZ Tablet or something else entirely.

SonyXperiaZ6Tablet: Speculation and Rumors

In terms of specs, not much is known about the Xperia Z6 Tablet. Sony's latest tablet, the Z4 Tablet, came with high-end specs, but it's too early to talk about specs and there are almost no rumors.

If the new tablet launches soon, it could borrow some features from the Xperia XZ, which is equipped with a Snapdragon 820 quad-core and 3GB of RAM. Again, it is possible that the Z6 Tablet will use something even newer, such as the Snapdragon 835.

It is likely that the new tablet will receive a 10.1-inch screen, just like previous tablets in this range. The resolution shouldn't change either, as the Xperia Z4 Tablet already offers QHD at 2560 x 1600 pixels, more than many competitors.

There's also a fair chance the new tablet will have a distinctive design inspired by the latest flagship Sony phones, including metal back panel, water resistant and side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Sony could make a keyboard for its next tablet, not only because a keyboard is available for the Xperia Z4 Tablet, but also by looking at Apple, which offers a keyboard with the iPad Pro.

SonyXperiaZ6Tablet: Price

Android tablets aren't always expensive, but when Sony releases their tablets, they are often in the upper price range. Right now, you can buy the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet for around 40,000 rubles.

The tablet costs a little less than the release price, while it is even cheaper, but this is due to the smaller size. We're expecting a high-end tablet called the Xperia Z6 Tablet, so the price tag is high.

Tablet Sony Xperia Tablet Z4, the price of which is not less than 35 thousand, at a cursory glance is very similar to the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, its price is 10,000 lower: the same monitor size, cameras are very similar, identical memory sizes. Is it worth overpaying and is there a significant difference in these two models? In this material, we will analyze in detail the main technical parameters of the devices and make a comparison.

Note that the first generation, Sony Xperia Tablet Z, whose price does not exceed 20,000, is equipped with a 10.1-inch ND screen. It has rear and frontal optics, a quad-core APQ8064 processor. It is worse than in other reviewers, with 1024 MB less RAM. But still, this is a modern device with a good operating speed.

At MWC 2015, Sony presented only two new products in the segment mobile devices- the M4 Aqua smartphone and the Z4 Tablet, which we immediately got to know better. A detailed study of the presented smartphone is still ahead, and in this article we will talk about the fourth tablet in the Xperia series. It is noticed that in mobile devices Sony alternates the output of large and small devices, so after the Z3 Tablet Compact a large ten-inch tablet saw the light.

Sony's large-format tablet isn't much different from its predecessor, released a year ago. Increased to the current display resolution. The asset is still the most powerful SoC of the Snapdragon line, which has replaced several generations since then. The infrared port and the proprietary dock connector were eliminated as unnecessary, thanks to which the mass of the tablet began to fit into 400 g, which is very small for a ten-inch device. The rest of the characteristics remained unchanged.

Design

The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet only comes with a charger. We got the tablet without it, in a regular white box, so let's get straight to the exterior. We got a black version for testing, there is also a white version on sale.

The Xperia Z4 Tablet can at first glance be distinguished from the Z2 Tablet by the size of the display bezels. The previous version was recognizable for its pronounced landscape orientation, which made it look somewhat disproportionate. The Z4 Tablet has become a little shorter and wider and, accordingly, more attractive.

With the new field sizes, the device can be comfortably gripped with one hand on either side, which is facilitated by its low weight. Other large tablets are not as well thought out in this regard. The manufacturer's logo and the placement of the front camera make it clear that the device, after all, is designed more for landscape orientation.

The front camera is in the center, which is convenient. At the same time, the manufacturer's logo is neatly aligned along the edge of the display. On the opposite side is the charging LED indicator. Such an interesting arrangement of the front panel elements distinguishes only large Xperia tablets, in the Z3 Tablet Compact everything is less original.

With the latest Sony Xperia devices, the tablet has other structural elements in common - contrasting glossy shock-resistant plastic corners. In addition, the Z2 Tablet had silver side edges perpendicular to the body, and now the tablet's profile is slightly convex on all sides.

The back panel of the device is made of soft-touch plastic. This material provides excellent grip and good fingerprint resistance. But if greasy marks do appear, it will take longer than usual to wipe them off.

In the left corner is the rear camera lens. Flash is not provided. Nearby is the NFC pairing zone. On the upper edge, the headphone jack barely fits into the body.

On the left, a silver power button contrasts with the dark body. It protrudes slightly more than the adjacent volume control buttons, so it is more convenient to use it. But the rocker is also quite embossed, there are no complaints about it either.

The microphone was moved upstairs. In principle, this is correct, since no one will bring a ten-inch tablet to their ear for conversation, and when communicating via video chats, the upper edge is not obscured.

Behind the long flap are the microSD and Nano-SIM slots (in the LTE version). Pulling on the plastic tip sticking out of the slot removes the sticker from the device. It contains the serial number and other information about the device. In this way, Sony provides the necessary information and does not spoil appearance... In the Xperia Z2 Tablet, all this information has been stretched out on a silver edge, and the new solution looks more elegant.

There is also a small yellow button hidden here for forced shutdown devices. The SIM card is inserted into a removable tray.

On the right side is the Micro-USB connector, and next to it is the hole for one of the two stereo speakers. They provide high quality sound and a decent volume headroom on par with expensive mobile devices.

The implementation of speakers is far from the only advantage of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet. This device has incorporated all the successful changes made to the design of the line over the past couple of generations. The result is a lightweight, comfortable and beautiful tablet. And besides, it is protected from external influences in accordance with IP65 and IP68 standards, which implies complete protection from dust, sea waves, strong jets and the possibility of prolonged immersion to a depth of 1 m. Will further testing make the same pleasant experience?

Screen

The front surface of the screen is made in the form of a glass plate with a mirror-smooth surface, resistant to scratches. Judging by the reflection of objects, the anti-glare properties of the screen may be slightly worse than that of Google Nexus 7 (2013) (hereinafter simply Nexus 7). For clarity, we present a photo in which a white surface is reflected in the turned off screens of both devices (Sony Xperia Z4 is on the right, then they can be distinguished by their size):

Both screens are dark, but the Sony screen is still slightly lighter (its brightness in the photo is 115 versus 109 for the Nexus 7). The tripling of reflected objects in the Sony Xperia Z4 screen is very weak, which indicates that there is no air gap between the outer glass (aka touch sensor) and the matrix surface ( screen type OGS - One Glass Solution). Due to the smaller number of boundaries (such as glass / air) with very different refractive indices, such screens look better in strong ambient light, but their repair in the case of cracked outer glass is much more expensive, since the entire screen has to be changed. On the outside of the screen has a special oleophobic (grease-repellent) coating (very effective, slightly better than the Nexus 7), therefore, fingerprints are removed much more easily, and appear at a slower rate than in the case of ordinary glass.

With manual brightness control, its maximum value was about 450 cd / m², and the minimum is 3.8 cd / m²... The maximum value is quite high, and given the good anti-glare properties, the image on the screen should be clearly visible in bright daylight. In complete darkness, the brightness can be lowered to a comfortable level. However, Sony has promised a 40% increase in brightness over the Xperia Z2, but in reality it is only 50 cd / m², or 12.5%. That is, the fact of deception of the consumer takes place. Automatic brightness control works according to the light sensor (it is located to the left of the front camera). V automatic mode when the ambient light conditions change, the screen brightness both increases and decreases. The operation of this function depends on the position of the brightness adjustment. If it is at the maximum, then in complete darkness the auto-brightness function reduces the brightness to 14 cd / m2 (normal), in an office illuminated with artificial light (about 400 lux) it sets to 260 cd / m2 (a bit too much), in a very bright environment (corresponds to the lighting outdoors on a clear day, but without direct sunlight - 20,000 lux or slightly more) increases to 450 cd / m² (up to the maximum, which is needed). If the brightness slider is at half the scale (it is very non-linear - after 50% the brightness goes up sharply with an increase in the setting value), then the screen brightness for the three conditions indicated above is as follows: 12, 170 and 450 cd / m² (suitable values). If the dimmer is set to minimum - 6.8, 80, 450 cd / m². Eventually the automatic brightness control function works absolutely adequately... Only at a very low level of brightness does significant modulation of the backlight appear, but its frequency is very high, about 10 kHz, so no screen flickering is visible under any conditions.

This screen uses matrix type IPS... The micrographs show the typical IPS subpixel structure:

For comparison, you can see the gallery of photomicrographs of screens used in mobile technology.

The screen has good viewing angles without tint inversion and no significant color shift even with large deviations from the perpendicular to the screen. For comparison, here is a photo in which the screens of the Nexus 7 and Sony Xperia Z4 display the same images, while the brightness of the screens was initially set to about 200 cd / m² (along the white field across the entire screen), and the color balance on the camera was forcibly switched to 6500 K . White field perpendicular to the plane of the screens:

Note the good uniformity of brightness and color tone of the white field. And the test picture:

The colors on the Sony Xperia Z4's screen are oversaturated, skin tones are strongly redshifted, and the color balance is noticeably different from standard. Now at an angle of approximately 45 degrees to the plane and to the side of the screen:

It can be seen that the colors did not change much on both screens, but in the Sony Xperia Z4 the contrast decreased to a large extent due to the strong black highlighting. And a white box:

The brightness at an angle on both screens has noticeably decreased (at least 5 times, based on the difference in exposure), but in the case of the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, the brightness drop is slightly less (brightness in photos is 233 versus 224 for Nexus 7). At the same time, the color tone changed slightly. The black field, when deviated along the diagonal, is lightened very strongly and acquires a violet or red-violet tint. The photos below demonstrate this (the brightness of the white areas in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the screens is the same for the screens!):

And from a different angle:

When viewed from a perpendicular view, the black field uniformity is very good:

Contrast (approximately in the center of the screen) high - about 900:1 ... The response time for the transition black-white-black is 21 ms (11 ms on + 10 ms off). The transition between gray tones of 25% and 75% (based on the numerical value of the color) and back takes 33 ms in total. Constructed from 32 points with equal intervals by the numerical value of the shade of gray, the gamma curve did not reveal a blockage either in highlights or shadows, and the exponent of the approximating power function turned out to be 2.15, which is close to the standard value, while the real gamma curve deviates slightly from power dependence:

The tablet does not have any dynamic adjustment of the backlight brightness depending on the nature of the displayed image, which is very good.

The color gamut is noticeably wider than sRGB:

We look at the spectra:

They are very atypical. As they say on the Sony website, in this screen (with the name Triluminos), LEDs with a blue emitter and a green and red phosphor (usually a blue emitter and a yellow phosphor) are used, which, in combination with special matrix light filters, allows a wide color gamut to be obtained. Unfortunately, as a result, the colors of images - drawings, photographs and films - oriented to the sRGB space (and there are the overwhelming majority of them) have an unnaturally high saturation. This is especially noticeable on recognizable shades, such as skin tones. The result is shown in the photo above.

The balance of shades on the gray scale is poor, since the color temperature is significantly higher than the standard 6500 K. The balance is distorted, of course, due to the excess of blue and green components, which at the same brightness reduces power consumption. True, the deviation from the blackbody spectrum (ΔE) is less than 10, which is considered an acceptable indicator for a consumer device. At the same time, the variation in color temperature and ΔE is small, which has a positive effect on the visual perception of color balance. (The darkest areas of the gray scale can be ignored, since the color balance there is not very important, and the error in measuring color characteristics at low brightness is large.)

This tablet has the ability to correct the color balance by adjusting the intensities of the three primary colors.

Which is what we tried to do. The result is data signed as Corr. in the graphs above. As a result, we significantly reduced ΔE and set the white point to 6500 K:

However, in this case, the maximum brightness decreased to 316 cd / m², and the contrast decreased accordingly, and such a correction did not reduce the oversaturation of colors.

If the image on the screen of this tablet still seems insufficiently saturated and juicy to someone, then you can turn on the proprietary mode X-Reality for mobile... In this mode, the saturation and contour sharpness are programmatically increased, and there are fewer distinguishable gradations in the area of saturated colors. There are Extreme brightness mode in which the color contrast is further enhanced.

Let's show alternately (you need to click on the pictures) all three modes on the test image:

Switch off:

Let's summarize. The brightness adjustment range of this screen is wide, and with anti-glare properties everything is in order, which allows comfortably use the tablet both on a sunny day outside and in complete darkness... It is acceptable to use mode with automatic brightness adjustment, which works absolutely adequately... The advantages also include an effective oleophobic coating, no flicker and no air gap in the layers of the screen, good uniformity of the black field and high contrast. The disadvantages - strong lightening of black color when the gaze deviates from the perpendicular to the screen surface... The color rendition is bad, because oversaturated colors (especially skin tones) and the color temperature is very high... The presence of appropriate adjustments allows you to correct the balance to almost perfect, but at the expense of a significant decrease in brightness and contrast, and the problem with oversaturated colors still remains. Taking into account the importance of characteristics for this particular class of devices (and the most important thing is the distinguishability of information in a wide range of external conditions) the screen quality can be considered high... However, for those who want to watch movies and watch / show photos on a tablet, we advise you to refrain from buying devices with a Triluminos screen, at least until Sony introduces a mode with sRGB coverage (and judging by trends, it is more likely , will close the mobile unit, which will do everything right).

Operating system

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet runs operating google systems Android 5.0.2. During testing, we used the basic firmware build 28.0.A.267, for which no updates were received. From 32 GB internal memory only 22.2 GB is available to the user, that is, almost a third is consumed by the system. And this, apparently, is the "merit" of the firmware itself, since the set of preinstalled software is small.

Sony limited itself to working on a proprietary interface in accordance with the requirements of "material design". Otherwise, the manufacturer did not bring anything new to the interface, adopting standard Lollipop elements.

Among the interesting software is an exclusive version of the Garmin for Xperia navigator, FM radio and, of course, the proprietary Remote Play service, which allows you to wirelessly stream game content from the Playstation 4 directly to the tablet. We talked about its work in the review of the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

The operation of the operating system deserves no comment. It takes approximately 35 seconds for the tablet to turn on.

Platform and performance

The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is powered by Qualcomm's most powerful SoC, the Snapdragon 810. It is popular among flagship mobile devices; we've already seen it on the HTC One M9 and LG G Flex 2.

This single-chip system includes eight processor cores combined with ARM big.LITTLE technology. For demanding tasks, it uses four Cortex-A57 cores (ARMv8-A architecture), accelerating up to 2 GHz. In more benign scenarios, four energy-efficient Cortex-A53 cores (also ARMv8-A architecture) are used. There is support for a 64-bit instruction set. Responsible for graphics work is the Adreno 430, the most powerful of Qualcomm's GPUs. Snapdragon 810 was unveiled at CES 2015 in January, and you can also read more about it in the report from the exhibition.

The single-chip system is complemented by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory - here Sony also did not save, but did not bring surprises either. Of course, the most interesting thing will be to compare the performance of the Z4 Tablet with iPad Air 2, but also tablets Samsung Galaxy also should not be written off in advance.

In browser tests, the victory remains with the Z4 Tablet, although the lag behind the latest iPad Air 2 is negligible. Analogs on Android are far behind, the high frequency of their processors does not help out.

Strangely, MobileXPRT, which is usually trustworthy, rated the Z4 Tablet's performance as the worst. In Antutu, the tablet confidently surpassed the mark of fifty thousand, being almost one and a half times faster than competitors. And in 64-bit mode, it turned out even more - 56482 points.

In the multi-platform Geekbench 3, our hero also leaves the bulk of the competition far behind. But here the iPad Air 2 enters the competition, which is by the same indicative lead ahead of the Z4 Tablet. The line with the results of Geekbench 3 clearly demonstrates: happiness is not in megahertz.

Let's now turn to the gaming benchmarks.

Tests confirm the advantage of the novelty on the Snapdragon 810 "among its own". This is especially noticeable when scenes are run at the same resolution. As for the iPad Air 2, here the victory remains with the Apple product: it more than compensates for a very small lag in browser benchmarks and synthetic 3DMark due to Geekbench 3 and GFXBench, which are more credible.

Now let's start real games.

Modern Combat 5: Eclipseworks fine
Call of Duty: Strike Teamstrongly slows down

Need for Speed: No Limitsworks fine
Assassin's Creed: Piratesdoes not work
Deux Ex: The Fallworks fine
World of Tanks: Blitzworks fine

We didn't expect to run into so many compatibility issues. Call of Duty not only takes a long time to load, but also slows down a lot, not allowing you to play normally. Assassin's Creed starts, but does not respond to pressing. N.O.V.A. 3 works very smoothly and the only problem is that the information about the current weapon is not displayed in the upper right corner. The Xperia Z4 Tablet could have shot like a powerful and lightweight gaming tablet, but, alas, failed. Perhaps all these problems arose due to the fact that we had an engineering sample for testing.

Below is a thermal image of the rear surface taken after 10 minutes of running the battery test in the GFXBenchmark program:

It can be seen that the heating is localized in the upper part of the device approximately under the front camera, which, apparently, corresponds to the location of the SoC chip. Heating is not point-like, which indicates the use of elements that distribute heat. According to the heat chamber, the maximum heating was 44 degrees.

Video playback

Additionally, the MHL interface was tested. To test it, we used a monitor ViewSonic VX2363Smhl which supports direct MHL connection (in version 2.0) using a passive Micro-USB to HDMI adapter cable. In this case, the MHL output was carried out at a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels with a frequency of 60 fps. Regardless of the actual orientation of the tablet, the display of the image on the screens of the tablet and the monitor is carried out only in landscape orientation with the connector on the tablet to the right. In this case, the image on the monitor is exactly inscribed in the boundaries of the display area in height and repeats the image on the tablet screen one to one in the version of interpolation from 2560 × 1600 to 1728 × 1080 pixels, that is, with vertical black stripes on the sides:

Traditionally, in the case of Sony, the tablet connected via MHL can act as a remote control for the TV, if the latter supports this function. MHL audio is output and has good quality... At the same time, sounds are not output through the loudspeaker of the tablet itself, and the volume is not regulated by the buttons on the tablet case, but is turned off. In our case, the tablet with the MHL adapter connected, judging by the charge indicator, was charging (but, in fact, it was rather discharged).

Then, using a set of test files with an arrow and a rectangle moving one division per frame (see "Testing methods for video playback and display devices. Version 1 (for mobile devices)"), we checked how the video is displayed on the tablet itself. Screenshots with an exposure of 1 s helped to determine the nature of the frame output of video files with various parameters: the resolution varied (1280 × 720 (720p), 1920 × 1080 (1080p) and 3840 × 2160 (4K) pixels) and the frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 fps). In our tests we used the MX Player video player in the "Hardware" mode. The results of this (block labeled "Tablet Screen") and the following test are tabulated:

Note: If both columns Uniformity and Skips green ratings are set, this means that, most likely, when watching movies, artifacts caused by uneven alternation and skipping of frames will either not be visible at all, or their number and visibility will not affect the viewing comfort. Red marks indicate possible problems with the playback of the respective files.

According to the criterion for outputting frames, the quality of video files playback on the screen of the tablet itself is good, since frames (or groups of frames) may output with a more or less uniform alternation of intervals and without skipping frames, with the exception of files with 50 and 60 fps, in which case, with a high probability, some frames will be skipped. In comparison with the same Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, we have a degradation in quality, apparently due to unoptimized software. The displayed range of brightness is equal to the standard range of 16-235, in shadows and highlights all gradations of shades are displayed. When playing video files with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels (1080p), the image of the video file itself is displayed exactly along the wide border of the screen, with inevitable interpolation.

With a monitor connected via MHL, during video playback, the monitor displays exact copy the tablet screen, that is, again with black stripes on the sides. Full HD clarity is, alas, not achievable. The brightness range displayed on the monitor is the standard range of 16-235. The results of the monitor output tests are shown in the table above in the "MHL (monitor output)" block. Output quality is no better than on your own screen.

The conclusion is typical: an MHL connection can be used for games, watching movies, displaying web pages and other activities that benefit from an increase in screen size, but only with black bars on the sides (and in the case of videos, there will be stripes at the bottom and from above, well, or the picture will have to be cropped by choosing the appropriate mode).

Wireless support and OTG mode

Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet is available in two versions, differing in support mobile networks... We tested a more expensive modification (SGP771RU), where this support is present. Users can use the current GSM, WCDMA bands, as well as fast LTE Cat 6. Using the tablet, you can also make calls and send SMS using standard Xperia applications.

Across operating system you can set up an answering machine. The numeric keypad supports search by Smart Dial name, and the alphabetic keypad supports continuous entry.

Calls are made in the mode speakerphone... The timbre of the interlocutor's voice remains recognizable, there are no problems with speech transmission.

Internet access is also possible via dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (with MIMO). Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, like other solutions based on Qualcomm Snapdragon, is distinguished by fast operation of GPS, Glonass and Chinese BDS. Determination of the location occurs in a matter of seconds after turning on the navigation. In addition, Bluetooth 4.1 is on the list of wireless modules.

Connection support external storage via USB OTG is declared on the official website, but for some reason it is not implemented on our copy. Perhaps because we were dealing with an engineering sample.

Cameras

The camera resolution of the Z4 Tablet is 8.1 and 5.1 megapixels. Their work was commented on by Anton Soloviev.

This camera allows you to take very good pictures, even by the standards of smartphones. Excellent sharpness and moderate software processing add up to a pleasing image. Also, one cannot fail to note good detail on different plans, despite the low resolution. Although the camera spoils the thin lines a little with software processing, it is noticeable only at high magnification.

As a result, the camera is well suited for various scenes, even if someone seriously decides to shoot with a tablet.

The camera can shoot video in Full HD format. An example video is shown below.

The video is of sufficient quality. Freezes are sharp despite the average frame rate.

Autonomous work

The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet has a battery of the same capacity as the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. The advantage of the new tablet is that, unlike the Z2 Tablet, which had only four powerful cores, there are also four energy efficient ones. ARM big.LITTLE technology allows you to quickly switch between these quartets, based on the resource intensity of the tasks.

Duration autonomous work clearly shows in which scenario the Cortex-A57 worked and in which the Cortex-A53. The use of the latter allowed the Z4 Tablet to outperform all competitors in reading and playing video. The battery life in the gaming test is also good - worse than the Z2 Tablet, but better than the iPad Air 2 (with a lower battery capacity).

The tablet came to us for testing without charger Therefore, we did not measure the charge recovery time.

conclusions

The Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet did not disappoint and turned out exactly as we are used to seeing Xperia tablets - with a great design, a quality screen and camera, and a powerful processor. But it was not without an unexpected fly in the ointment. Compatibility with games leaves much to be desired, and we hope that this drawback is associated precisely with our specific sample or, in extreme cases, will be eliminated by firmware updates (as well as problems with video playback when high frequency frames). Alas, from the low stability of black when deviating from the perpendicular to the screen by software not be saved. Also, the Z4 Tablet excelled in battery life, plugging all competitors into the belt.

Today we are dealing with the most advanced tablet (at least in the Android segment) in terms of the totality of all characteristics, and competitors will have to try to take over the palm. Although looking at the news feeds of the market, which are full of exclusively budget devices, you begin to doubt that there will be such competitors at all.

In this roundup, we'll take a look at the best Sony tablet models. Let's get acquainted with their characteristics, find out how much they cost, consider their positive and negative sides. We will select the optimal models in terms of price / quality ratio.

Sony Corporation is one of the trendsetters in the electronics industry. Sony tablets are different high quality components and assembly, as well as perfect color reproduction and performance. In addition, Sony is the only manufacturer of a waterproof ultra-thin tablet PC in the world. The gadgets released by the Japanese giant, although they cost fabulous money, are considered one of the best on the planet, not inferior to the models of leading companies.

Types of tablets

Sony produces several different lines of tablets targeted at its customer:

  1. Xperia Z Tablet Compact. Series of tablets with a screen of 8 inches. The latest models are equipped with the most advanced developments. They are distinguished by good performance, excellent resolution of the camera matrix and support for the 4G LTE format.

  3. Xperia Tablet Z. Standard Tablet PC series. It has good characteristics, it would be considered a flagship by many manufacturers, but for Sony it is a budget line of tablets. Some models in this line are equipped with a waterproof case.
  4. Xperia Tablet S. Not a bad series of gadgets with Nvidia Tegra processors and increased operating time without recharging.
  5. Sony Tablet P. Series of foldable tablets with 2 screens of 5.5 inches. Differs in excellent music reproduction.
