They are used to turn on the device, and to set the time, and to receive a call, and to adjust the volume. The bottom button, when pressed for a long time, turns the device on and off. If you hold down the button further when turning on, the bracelet will enter the BT-device search mode, and the screen will display “Pairing ...”. To set the watch, you need to hold the top button, then the bracelet will go into the time setting mode. To receive a call, press the upper button twice - the call duration will be displayed on the screen. During a conversation on the bracelet, it is used as a headset speakerphone, the buttons can be used to adjust the sound volume. Also, the bracelet can be used to listen to music, but doing this through a single speaker is a dubious pleasure.

But you usually remember this some time after answering the call. In the case of a bracelet, a conversation can be conducted on the device on which the call answer key was pressed. This version of the bracelet also allows you to conduct a conversation on it. As practice has shown, this function is not needed, and it looks comical. Although this mode works well, the speaker is loud enough (you don't need to lean against your ear), but the microphone is insensitive, so you need to bring the bracelet when talking.

During normal wearing, you can watch the time on the bracelet. After pressing one of the keys, the time flashes on the display. After 10 seconds the screen turns off. When a call comes in, only the caller's number lights up on the display, but you can hear the caller's name using the Caller Name feature on your Nokia device. The black and white versions of the TalkBand B2 only have silicone straps at their disposal and there is no additional strap in the package. The approximate price for the white and black versions is 169 euros.

In this review, we will take as a basis the most expensive and beautiful version of TalkBand B2, namely with a leather strap. The price for this version will be around 199 euros.

Compared to TalkBand B1, a new version TalkBand B2 has changed quite a bit in terms of design and functionality. If TalkBand B1 was a narrowly specialized device and was suitable purely for sports or fitness, then TalkBand B2 is a more advanced version that combines a fitness bracelet, BT headset and, if you like, it is also a smart watch to some extent.

To begin with, TalkBand B2 is the most beautiful device in the category of fitness bracelets at the moment. The design of the device is HUAWEI's own development. Moreover, the development took place in Paris itself, and Paris, as you know, is one of the world centers of fashion and design. So TalkBand B2 looks fashionable, beautiful, stylish. The design of the device is laconic without flashy elements, and I would even say strict. A universal approach in terms of appearance says that the device is suitable for everyone, from a fragile young lady to a brutal man in a fitness room. You just have to choose the color of the gadget. Personally, I liked the premium version with a leather strap the most, the black version also looks good due to the color itself and the white version closes this rating.

And so the most advanced version of TalkBand B2 has a brown leather strap at its disposal. The strap is stitched with white thread along the contour. The workmanship of the strap is very high, I personally have not noticed any flaws. The clasp in this strap has a classic clock mechanism and is made of yellow gold-like metal. In the white and black versions of the strap, the clasp is metal, but it has a push-button type of fixation, however, this does not negatively affect the reliability of the fixation itself. The stock of holes on all versions of the strap is quite large, so the size can be adjusted to fit any wrist.

In general, the coolest feature of the TalkBand B2 is the detachable design of the device body, so to speak 2 in 1. You can use the TalkBand B2 for its intended purpose in the form of a fitness bracelet. But if for some reason the bracelet does not suit you, then it can easily be turned into a regular BT headset. To do this, on the body on the sides, you need to simultaneously hold down two buttons and remove the headset from the main body, ingenious! This approach has been used in the design for the first time and no one else on the market has this. The headset is already equipped with a removable ear cushion and can be used immediately. When fixing the headset in the bracelet body, you do not need to remove the ear cushion.

The headset itself is completely made of metal. Moreover, the metal in the structure is aviation aluminum. Also, a part of the bracelet is made of metal where the headset itself is fixed. As a result, everything in the design of the device is completely metal, and that's cool.

The front side of the headset, where the screen itself is located, has a slightly convex base. The screen is made using PMOLED technology and has a mirror base, the screen has no edges. Thanks to this approach, the image on the screen seems to be displayed in the depth of the device. The information on the screen looks cooler in the dark. Display size - 0.72 inches, display resolution - 128x88 pixels, touch screen, monochrome. It should be noted that in bright sunlight it is rather difficult to make out information on the headset screen, the presence of a mirror substrate affects.

The TalkBand B2 is IP57 rated. Of course, the device will not withstand complete immersion in water, but you can wash your hands without removing the device from your hand. Also rain is not a big problem for our device.

CONTROL ELEMENTS

The front of the headset is the screen itself.

In this section, I will talk about the main function of the bracelet.

For TalkBand B2 to work properly, we need the "TalkBand" application of the same name. At the moment, the application is in preliminary testing. By the time TalkBand B2 starts selling, the program will already appear in the PlayMarket and AppStore app stores. Accordingly, smartphones running Android OS and iOS are currently supported. Windows support Phone is expected later.

An interesting feature of the device is sleep monitoring. After waking up, you can see the statistics: falling asleep, the period of light sleep and the period of deep sleep.

In a separate item, you can see the statistics of steps by time, days of the week. The statistics of sleep phases and calorie consumption are based on the same principle. Accordingly, you can optimize your loads after analyzing the saved graphs.

In the settings, you can create your own goal, for example, set the number of steps and the program itself will calculate the distance and the estimated cost of calorie consumption.

Accordingly, all your actions such as walking, running, sleeping, calorie consumption are displayed as separate graphic screensavers on the headset screen. Information on the screen can be changed by shifting the image up or down.

At the moment, this is only a small part of the available functions of the program and the bracelet itself. Over time, the functionality will be significantly expanded.

OPERATING IN BT HEADSET MODE

For TalkBand B2 to work in BT headset mode, of course, you don't need to install any additional software on your smartphone. We just establish a connection, the headset will ask for permission to sync your contacts and the whole device is ready to go.

In the BT mode of the headset, service information is displayed on the screen in the form of: battery level, whether the device is connected via BT, time, date, day of the week. When a call comes to the headset, the screen displays information in the form of the caller's number and his name (if it is saved in contacts). To answer a call, press the button on the right side of the headset. It should be borne in mind that if the headset is inserted into the bracelet, then answer incoming call is possible only when the headset itself is removed from the bracelet, otherwise the call will only go to the phone / smartphone.

At the moment, it is not yet possible to make a call and search for a contact through the headset itself, for these actions you need a phone / smartphone, after calling the subscriber, the call will be redirected to the headset.

Since our headset is equipped with two active microphones, I would like to note the excellent filtering of external noise. The sound in the headset is clear, without any interference, the volume is sufficient, the interlocutor on the other end of the connection also notes good and clear speech transmission. In this regard, TalkBand B2 demonstrates very good and high-quality work, if you add the ability to search for contacts through the headset itself, and everything will be just fine.

The distance at which the headset does not lose connection is standard and is about 10-15 meters. When leaving the range of BT connection, the headset notify the owner that the connection is broken. When a BT connection zone is found, the connection is made automatically.

OFFLINE OPERATION

The TalkBand B2 has a battery capacity of 95 mAh. For a compact headset, this is quite a good indicator. Actually autonomous work consists of two modes.

1. Work in the fitness bracelet mode - 2 days.

2. Work in BT headset mode - 5 hours (continuous conversation).

CONCLUSIONS

Let's remember the official price of the premium version of the gadget at 199 euros. In rubles at the exchange rate, the approximate cost will be around 12.5 thousand rubles, let's say for this type of device this price is quite high.
