Today there are many different programs to protect personal computers and laptops from malware and spyware. Quite popular is the AVG antivirus, which works on computers with operating Windows systems and MAC OS, as well as on mobile devices c Android and iOS. I myself have come across this program several times, and today I want to talk about how to disable AVG Internet Security. This may be required in order to install any program or game that the antivirus does not want to miss.

Open the program.
Select the "Parameters" section.

Use if necessary additional settings, for example, select the item "Any location". In this case, the file will be identified only by its name, and there is no need to specify the exact path to it. You can also select "Any content" and in this case, the contents of the folder for exclusion can be changed at the discretion of the user.
Click on the "Apply" button.

Important! You should not add files, folders and websites to exclusions if you are not sure about their safety, as this can cause very serious harm to your device and personal data.

The main window of the program displays information about the security status of your computer (Fig. 4.44).

Green indicates that everything is in order. If any protection component does not work or is out of date anti-virus databases, the color changes to red. In addition, a large button will appear in the center of the window offering to fix all security gaps (Fig. 4.45).

Components can be disabled, enabled, and the parameters of their operation can be changed. To configure, click on the desired component, for example Computer (Fig. 4.46).

In addition to the tiles of protection components, the main application window contains buttons associated with protection and located under the tiles (see Fig. 4.44).

Improve your productivity. It is known that during the work on the computer various system junk (outdated files) accumulates, which does not harm the computer, but slows down its work. By clicking this button, you can scan your computer for such files and errors (Fig. 4.47). When, after reviewing the analysis results, you want to fix everything and press the appropriate button, you will be offered to download a separate program that will fix all errors for the first time for free, but later will ask for money for its work.

AVG Mobilation. To protect your mobile phone with operating system Android from viruses and malicious attacks, this version of AVG antivirus was developed. Click this button to go to the site where you can download the AVG Mobilation app.

More protection. Click this button to open a window with advertisements for paid antivirus features.

SETTINGS

The settings in the program are divided into two types: simple (Options) and advanced (Advanced options). At the same time, the Parameters duplicate the main interface of the program with minor additions.

Click the button to open the settings. Options in the upper right corner of the program window (see Fig. 4.44). In the menu that appears Options(fig.4.48) you can:

Start scanning;

Update anti-virus databases;

Go to information about viruses;

Buy the paid version.

Let's take a closer look at the Additional parameters item (Fig. 4.49).

To get in Extra options you can also use the protection components (click on the component and select Options). In this case, you will be taken directly to that section (submenu) of settings, which belongs to the selected protection component, which is quite convenient.

Let's highlight the main settings items required by most users. First of all, they will concern protection components.

In fig. 4.49 you can see that some settings are grouped.

Computer protection, Protection Email, Browsing Protection, Identity Protection are responsible for the protection components. Initially, they were exhibited optimal parameters for effective fight against viruses. If you wish, you can add some parameters or, conversely, delete them.

Scanning. By default, AVG Antivirus Free provides one typical set of parameters for four types of scans, while the user himself determines which of them will be used during the scan (Fig. 4.50).

The more parameters are involved, the more thorough the check, but such a scan will take much more time and resources. Conversely, the fewer parameters are selected, the faster the check will pass, however, the reliability will also decrease. Please note: the developer has set optimal settings for each type of scan. The only thing that can be added is to select the Enable removable device scanning checkbox in the Removable device scan item. Considering how many computers get infected when using someone else's unverified removable media information, it will be justified.

The shell extension scan allows you to perform validation through the context menu.

In the Schedules group, you can configure the schedule according to which AVG Antivirus Free will scan your computer, update the anti-virus databases and the program itself (Fig. 4.51).

Scheduling a scan is easy. This operation has three points based on three tabs:

Schedule - set the check time;

Parameters - select scan parameters;

Location - define what exactly you plan to check (disk, folder, file).

It's even easier with the update schedule. Activate (or deactivate) the task in the appropriate settings and specify the required time.

Some files AVG Antivirus Free can identify as unwanted and restrict access to them. To work normally with the necessary files in such cases, add them to Exceptions (fig. 4.52).

Virus Vault is a place where all viruses detected on the computer are isolated. You can customize its size and possible actions with the objects placed in it (Fig. 4.53).

If you configured something incorrectly and the program began to work worse, return to the original settings: click the Default button in the lower left corner of the Advanced Settings window.

CHECKING THE COMPUTER

To start a full scan, click the Scan button in the main program window (Fig. 4.54). To select a different scan option, use the Scan Settings button to the right of the Scan button.

In addition to the offered Full Scan, you have access to Scheduled Scan, as well as scan of individual files and folders.

If the scan takes a long time, you can configure the computer to shutdown after the scan is complete. To do this, in the Settings window, click the Advanced scan settings link and in the window that appears, check the box Turn off the computer after scanning is complete (Fig. 4.55).

It is very easy to check a single file or folder. To do this, right-click on the selected object, in the context menu that appears, run the command Scan with AVG... Recall that the settings for this type of scan are located in the menu Options Advanced Scanning Options Shell Extension Scans.

It should be noted that working with the program is pleasant. A user-friendly interface, wide customization options and, most importantly, high reliability allow using AVG Antivirus as a full-fledged computer defender.

If you want to disable AVG antivirus, you can do it in 3 ways. We will consider each of them, and using our visual cues, you can easily do it yourself.

How to disable AVG antivirus for a while 3 ways

Method 1) Open the AVG main menu. Here you will see several additional menu items. What interests you is the Computer menu. Click on it with the left mouse button.

A window will open, but with only two menus to choose from. The menu item "AntiVirus", as you can see from the picture below, has a small button. You can deactivate the antivirus by clicking on it.

When you see the "AntiVirus" menu turn orange from green, and you read "Disabled" (see Figure below), this means that you have successfully completed the task and disabled the anti-virus protection.

Here, in fact, are all the actions that need to be done to disable the basic protection functions of AVG antivirus. If you want to disable all protection functions of AVG antivirus, or selectively (only some), then you need to use 2 ways to disable it.

Method 2) You need to do the same first steps that were listed in method 1. But not completely. So, go to the main menu of the antivirus, select "Computer" and you will see the same two menus. This time, on the "AntiVirus" button, you need to use the small icon in the lower right corner. This icon is the Security Settings button. By activating it, you will go to the settings menu and will be able to disable AVG antivirus, taking into account the requested parameters.

If you do not want to complicate your task, you can simply select the item "Temporarily disable AVG protection" from the menu on the left.

And then this window will become active on the right. Here again select "Temporarily disable AVG protection".

A new active window of protection settings will appear in front of you. Select your preferred time for disabling protection (from 5 minutes until the next PC restart). To do this, use the "Disable AVG on:" drop-down menu. Check the box "Disable protection" and click "OK".

If you want to select a specific protection option and disable it (for example, disable email protection), then use the menu on the left and select the options you are interested in. To do this, click the "+" sign to display additional security options and change them accordingly.

IMPORTANT! After changes in the left menu, you must click "Apply". In case you forgot to do this usual operation, your antivirus will remain enabled.

Method 3) The easiest way to disable AVG antivirus for a while is to access the temporary disable menu directly from the taskbar. All you need to do is click on the AVG antivirus icon right key mouse and select this section in the drop-down menu.

As a result, you will see a window for temporarily disabling protection. In it, select the duration of disabling protection (from 5 minutes and until the next restart of the PC) in the drop-down menu "Disable AVG on:". Then, check "Disable protection" and click "OK".

That's all, actually. Don't forget to restore your AVG antivirus protection - you'll still need it.

In some cases, the question may arise, how to temporarily disable or completely deactivate this tool... Let's consider how to do this sequentially.

Right-click on the AVG icon located in the system tray. We are talking about an area on the taskbar slightly to the left of the clock. Let's move on to the next step in solving the issue of how to disable AVG antivirus. In the menu that appears, select the item that allows you to stop the protection carried out by this program. Next, we indicate the time interval during which the antivirus will be disabled. There is also a stop option "Before reboot". After choosing the best option, a message appears stating that the web pages and the whole computer is disabled. All is ready.

Exceptions

Remember that when the question of how to disable AVG antivirus is resolved in practice, the computer is at additional risk. The best option is to configure the program correctly, rather than deactivating it completely. It is in our power to add a specific file to the exceptions. If you do this, the antivirus will not scan it, which means it will not interfere with the interaction. To do this, open the program. Let's move on to the "Parameters" section. Next, select "Additional". Click on the "Exceptions" button. We use the function located at the bottom of the window. We call it Add Exceptions. Choose type - website address, folder or file. We indicate the path to the corresponding resource. Additional settings can be used if necessary. For example, you might need the Any Location feature. In this case, the material will be identified by the system by name, and we do not have to indicate the exact path to it. You can also use the "Any Content" function. It allows you to make changes to the content of the selected folders, which will also not be checked by the system. After the described transformations, it remains to click the "Apply" button.

You should not migrate websites, folders, and files to exclusions unless you are confident that these resources are safe. This can cause serious harm to both personal data and your computer. Now you know how to disable AVG antivirus.
