Last updated mi fit. Firmware for mi band - where to download and how to install. Firmware update via Gadgetbridge app

Updating the firmware on Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is most effective for situations in which the gadget degrades its performance for unknown reasons, as well as, if necessary, install a newer and more supported version of the system, for example, via a computer. The result is provided:

  • Wider functionality;
  • Improving interaction with the interface;
  • Correction of shortcomings of the previous modification.

Regarding the innovations in the second generation of Mi Band, first of all, the possibility of setting a joint date and time with your own hand, which was impossible before the update, stands out. The context describes new program Gadgetbridge instead of the basic Mi Fit, which will be discussed later. To install new software, you need to find the corresponding APK file on a computer with Internet access. Therefore, the project site further provides links to download already prepared data.

Since the APK file is a ZIP archive, any specialized program can be used to open it. There are several available firmwares, as they are designed for different versions gadgets. The files required for installation are named Mili_pro.fw (188 Kb) and Mili_pro_53.fw (167 Kb). It should be noted that when using assemblies lower than 1.0.0.53 in Mi Band 2, Mili_pro_53.fw is loaded first, after which the remaining file cannot be changed, while the name cannot be changed.

Update process

The subsequent algorithm of actions in similar versions operating system uncomplicated:

  1. First of all, you should install the Gadgetbridge program (3.3 MB), followed by configuration and synchronization with the tracker;
  2. Using the application manager, move the selected file to the device and click on it to launch;
  3. After entering the application, a notification will be displayed in English, which consists of a notification about the application of an untested modification. You should skip the message and use the “Install” command located at the bottom;
  4. Wait for the end of the reinstallation of the system, while it is not advisable to perform any processes on the device;
  5. At the end of the download, after updating the required bracelet file, a restart will follow, and then the Gadgetbridge program will reconnect.

After completing the operation, using a computer or internal program, you can perform updates of any assembly, while taking into account that Mili_pro_53.fw should be paramount if the version used is lower than 1.0.0.53. Otherwise, the operability of the device will be accompanied by problems in which you will need the help of specialists with appropriate explanations of the details of the manipulations performed before the malfunction occurs.

Features of working with Mi Fit

The most popular update method is to use the official Mi Fit program created by the manufacturer Xiaomi. Since all current smartphones provide mobile data transfer, Mi Fit installation is seamless. Special guides, as in the case of using third-party services, will not come in handy, since the file enters the device's system and opens for download. If you have difficulty downloading, you should probably uninstall the previous modification, and then an update will follow.

Features of the gadget after flashing:

  • Fully Russian-language interface;
  • Activation and display of information about the contacts of the bracelet;
  • Enabling messages when communication is lost;
  • The presence of Russian language support for the assistant;
  • Correct functionality of Google maps;
  • The ability to use new programs;
  • Apply twenty alert instead of five;
  • Call delay, if desired, in quick access;
  • Updated service labels for the tracker;
  • The ability to connect an attribute with Google Fit and more;
  • Deactivation of foreign programs;
  • Using Telegram statistics.

Major update of the most affordable device in its category

One of the main sensations on the fitness bracelet market is the Xiaomi Mi Band. A simple device from a Chinese manufacturer did not have any unique features, but at the same time it coped well with its tasks, and most importantly, it cost only $ 13. Of course, buying it for this money was very problematic, since sales were only within China, and resellers sold at a higher price, but it still came out significantly cheaper than any analogues of some well-known companies.

Seeing the success of Mi Band, Xiaomi promptly released the "successor" of the model - Mi Band 1S Pulse (as the name implies, its feature is a heart rate sensor), and then a larger update arrived - Mi Band 2. Here is not just an additional sensor, but new design body and a mini-screen that displays time, heart rate, steps and calories. They began to sell it for $ 23, but, as in the case of the first model, it is now problematic to buy a bracelet for this money. So, on Gearbest, from where they sent us a copy for testing, you can pre-order at a price of $ 43.98. Almost twice as much, but still much less than, for example, a Sony bracelet with a heart rate sensor.

We decided to test the new product and figure out how high-quality it is and whether it inherited the competitiveness of the line's founder.

First, let's take a look at the specifications of the new item.

Specifications Xiaomi Mi Band 2

As we can see, the characteristics of the new product are very close to Sony SmartBand 2. However, their heart rate sensors work in different ways, and the Xiaomi bracelet has no additional extensions. At the same time, the price of the Xiaomi bracelet is more than four times lower (if you count at the official price) or about half if you compare prices from local retailers.

Equipment

The packaging of the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is the same as that of the first model. It is a square cardboard box, very compact and easy to transport and store.

Inside we will find the bracelet body itself, a strap, a very short USB charging cable and an instruction leaflet (in Chinese, but with descriptive pictures).

The first model had the same equipment. One can complain that the cable is so short, but, apparently, the manufacturer is trying to save on everything.

Design

The design of the bracelet as a whole remains the same. The device consists of two parts: a block with electronics (it has an elongated oval shape) and a silicone strap into which this block must be inserted. Note that it is not inserted without effort.

At the same time, as we have already noted, the design of the block itself has undergone quite serious changes compared to the first version. Instead of an aluminum surface with LEDs, we see glass on which a miniature screen and a circle of the touch zone are located. By touching it with our finger, we can move from one information on the screen to another.

The back of the main unit, in contact with the hand, is made of plastic, as are the rounded edges (they are completely covered by the strap when the bracelet is worn).

The heart rate sensor is located on the back of the unit. It is smaller than on devices such as the Garmin vivosmart HR, Apple Watch or Mio Fuse, and it does not always work.

Two contacts are visible on the side of the device - with their help Mi Band 2 is charged. To recharge it, insert it into the cradle on the supplied cable with these contacts in front.

The bracelet is standard, made of rather elastic black silicone. There are a lot of round holes, so you can adjust the length of the bracelet to suit any hand.

In general, summarizing our impressions of the Xiaomi Mi Band 2, we would say that the bracelet did not look better - rather, on the contrary. The bracelet has lost its individuality: this is what half of the faceless Chinese bracelets look like. Whereas Xiaomi Mi Band with its aluminum body looked just very recognizable. Is the deterioration in appearance worth the possibilities that the screen brings? We will talk about this in the next section of the article.

Software and functionality

As we remember, the first version of Mi Band did not work with the iPhone, and there were many flaws in the Android version of the Mi Fit application. But pretty quickly Xiaomi sorted out the "childhood diseases" of the software, and now Mi Fit is well localized and compatible with both Android and iOS.

To use the bracelet, we need to create a Mi account, and this requires a number mobile phone(he will receive an SMS in Chinese).

After you have created an account, you will be asked to enter basic information about yourself (gender, age, weight) and set goals for the number of steps or calories.
Then the bracelet firmware update will automatically start, and here you are, finally, on the main screen. It's called Status. Here, in a large circle, we see the number of steps taken (and below it is small - the distance and calories lost), below - information about sleep, weight (of course, the bracelet itself does not measure it, you need the Mi Scale), the last heart rate measurement and achievements.

The next screen - Play - contains settings for notifications and alarms. So, you can turn on the vibration of the bracelet for incoming calls, set an alarm (only a fixed time, there is no smart alarm), set a reminder in case of long inactivity (moreover, specifying the period in which you cannot be disturbed). In addition, you can allow the bracelet to notify you about new SMS and letters, as well as about achieving goals.

There are also settings for notifications from third-party applications. These are Mi Talt, WeChat, Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and Snapchat. If you move the levers opposite them to the active position, then when you receive notifications from them, the bracelet will also vibrate.

Unfortunately, the set of applications itself is very far from Russian realities (in fact, no one has optimized the bracelet for Russia). There are no most popular Russian applications, and of the set that is, only Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp are relatively relevant. Moreover, in the case of Facebook, only notifications from the FB itself are supported (that is, posts in the groups where you are a member, marks you by other users, etc.), but FB Messenger is not supported.

The third screen (of the three main ones) is called Profile. Here you can really edit your profile (weight, goals), change units of measurement, etc., but the main thing is two curious settings: Heart rate sleep assistant (use the heart rate sensor to measure sleep phases more accurately) and Mi Band Display Settings ... The last setting is needed in order to choose what information will be shown on the display. In addition to the default time, number of steps and heart rate, you can display the distance traveled, the number of calories dropped and the remaining time. autonomous work... Moreover, the time will be displayed in any case, and the rest of the options remain at the user's choice.

Also, in the bracelet settings, you can change the hand on which you wear the bracelet, set the display of information on the screen when you raise your hand (very useful!) And find the bracelet (by clicking on this line, it will vibrate three times).

Screen and heart rate measurement

Separately, it is worth dwelling on two options that distinguish the new product from the first version: the presence of a screen and heart rate measurement. The screen is tiny and its only function is to display numbers and icons. That is, there can be no full-fledged image here.

While the numbers look greenish in the photo above, they are actually white with noticeable graininess. The screen turns on only when you either touch the touch area or raise your hand (in case you have activated this option in the settings). Therefore, here the bracelet is inferior to those devices that show the time constantly (for example, Garmin vivoactive HR). The numbers are well visible in different conditions, but in the bright sun you will have to strain to see them and look for the optimal angle.

As for the measurement of the pulse, the situation here is rather strange. By default, the bracelet does not make automatic measurements (like Sony Smartband 2, Apple Watch or Garmin vivoactive HR). But we have already mentioned the setting above that allows you to use heart rate data during sleep. Apparently, when this option is enabled, the bracelet starts making automatic measurements. But their results are not saved. And we did not find any settings that would allow you to fine-tune this function. In addition, the bracelet does not have the ability to dynamically measure the heart rate, that is, for example, during sports, you cannot see the change in heart rate during training. If you want to see your heart rate, you need to select the corresponding icon on the bracelet screen or start the measurement through the application. The result will be available in both Mi Fit and Apple Health (if you use an iPhone and have allowed Mi Fit to write data to Apple Health).

Battery life and user experience

The manufacturer claims 20 days of battery life. Apparently, this forecast is quite realistic (we could not verify this for sure, since the testing period for the device is much shorter), but two nuances should be taken into account here. Firstly, if you enable the Heart rate sleep assistant option, then 20 days will no longer work. Secondly, parameters such as the number of synchronizations with a smartphone and how often you look at information on the screen can affect the duration of work without recharging. Finally, if you turn on notifications for all notifications in supported services, and at the same time you are very active in these services (that is, notifications come often), then this will also most likely affect the life of a single charge. Turning everything on to the maximum (notifications, Heart rate sleep assistant) and quite actively using the bracelet as a watch, we noticed that the battery is discharged by about 10% per day. That is, in total, it will work on one charge for about 10 days.

One way or another, Xiaomi Mi Band 2 remains one of the longest-lived bracelets anyway. But there are no miracles here. It has a fairly capacious battery and there is nothing that could discharge it quickly. The pulse is rarely checked, the screen is tiny and consumes almost nothing (and even turned off almost all the time). In general, if you are tired of having to recharge your wrist gadget every few days, Mi Band 2 will delight you.

But what can be upsetting is the periodic failures when trying to synchronize, as well as not always successful heart rate measurements. However, these are perhaps the only drawbacks of such a plan, which we noticed in the process of using. As for the functionality, you can complain about the lack of a smart alarm clock - the bracelet can only wake up in set time... However, the sleep tracking itself is very well implemented. First, you don't have to manually indicate that you went to bed. The bracelet itself determines this. Secondly, it seems that heart rate measurements during sleep help him quite accurately determine when you are really sleeping and when you are not. For example, in the screenshot below you can see that at about 8 am the author woke up, then stayed awake for a while and then fell asleep again for about an hour.

If, nevertheless, the bracelet is mistaken, you can press the Edit button and edit the data. In addition, you can view statistics for a longer period of time by clicking on History.

conclusions

By releasing the sensational Xiaomi Mi Band for $ 13, the manufacturer took a logical path: gradually increasing the functionality and increasing the price just as delicately. But is it a lot or a little - $ 10 for a heart rate sensor and a mini screen? In our opinion, this is normal - after all, the presence of a screen allows you to use the device as a clock (although with smart watch The Xiaomi Mi Band 2 certainly does not match in terms of functionality). But we would not pay more for it (and it is unrealistic to buy a bracelet for a price of $ 23 now). In the end, there is nothing unique in the price above $ 40, such devices with similar parameters can be found from other manufacturers.

The problem with Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is that appearance, the manufacturer has added almost nothing in terms of real value in everyday use. The heart rate sensor is of little use here, because automatic measurements are too rare, and there is no dynamic measurement mode; the screen can be useful in terms of displaying times and types of notifications (for example, it can show a Facebook icon when something comes in there - but not a message), but if you really need the functionality smart watch then it is better to find something more advanced.

In general, we see no point in chasing Xiaomi Mi Band 2 right now, overpaying for it twice. If you really need just such a set of features and want to get it at the lowest price, it is better to wait a little while the excitement subsides. But right now you can buy for a very favorable price the first Xiaomi Mi Band - the same Gearbest sells it for only $ 13, and for this money we safely recommend it.

for provided on Xiaomi test Mi Band 2

If you ignore software updates for your Xiaomi Mi Band 2 firmware that has lost its relevance can play a cruel joke with you. Most often, outdated software causes not correct work tracker sensors. In this case, the function of measuring the heart rate, "smart alarm" or a pedometer can be used. It also happens that everything works, but the readings of the fitness bracelet are far from reality, and in this case, there is very little benefit from it. Of course, you can try to reset the device and sometimes it helps, but if "the number has not passed", then in this case there is only one thing left - download the firmware for the Xiaomi Mi Band and install it instead of the outdated one.

Xiaomi Mi Band 2 firmware with update only

You won't be able to download the firmware for the Mi Band separately - it is inseparable from the Mi Fit application and is downloaded exclusively along with its updates. Therefore, to solve this problem, go to Google play or App Store and we get a new Mi Fit there. The program update of the bracelet itself will occur immediately as soon as you launch the application on your phone for the first time. There is one "but" here - in Xiaomi Mi Band 2 firmware will be updated only if the latest version of the program contains such an update, which is not always the case.

How to find out the firmware version of Mi Band 2?

To determine which software version is installed on your bracelet, enter Mi Fit on your mobile device and select the "Profile" menu item. Here you need to open the list "My devices" and select the Xiaomi fitness tracker in it. Here you will see information about the bracelet, including the firmware version, which will be indicated in the penultimate paragraph of the list. In the summer of 2017, for example, the firmware version had the following designation: V1.0.1.50.

Hello everyone. Alexander Glebov is in touch with you. In my next article, I tell you how to set up fitness bracelet xiaomi mi band 1s pulse, namely how to set up a smart alarm clock. As you know, since the version of Mi Fit 2.X.X.X, the developers have turned off the smart alarm function ...

Fitness bracelet xiaomi mi band 1s pulse - setting up a smart alarm clock step by step

I will briefly tell you what we are actually going to do. I honestly admit that all the information is taken from the site w3bsit3-dns.com, however, it is not structured there. First of all, we need to uninstall the current version of Mi Fit and Mi Band Notify & Fitness if it is installed. Next, we flash the necessary firmware on the xiaomi mi band 1s pulse fitness bracelet, and then install the required version of the Mi Fit application. And now all this is in more detail.

  1. Remove Mi Fit and Mi Band Notify & Fitness apps.
  2. Next, download the GadjetBridge version 0.9.4 to your phone - from here. With it we will flash the xiaomi mi band 1s pulse. The file will be named nodomain.freeyourgadget.gadgetbridge_48.apk.
  3. Install GadjetBridge on your phone (remember to enable installation from unknown sources).
  4. Next, we need to download the Mi Fit 1.8.711 application to our computer. From it we will extract the required firmware for the fitness bracelet. You can download MiFit1.8.711MS.apk.
  5. Open Mi Fit 1.8.711 using winrar or another archiver, go to the assets folder and extract the Mili_hr.fw file from it. Mili_hr.fw- this is the firmware file for Mi Band 1s, if you have a different bracelet, then you need to extract another file - Mili.fw - for a bracelet with colored diodes; Mili_1a.fw - 1A; Mili_hr.fw - 1S. Since I have Mi Band 1s Puls, I extracted Mili_hr.fw, for your convenience I posted the already extracted file using this link. Send the firmware file to your phone.
  6. Launch GadjetBridge from the notification area. (with your finger across the screen from the top to the bottom =))).
  7. In the window that appears, click the three vertical dots in the upper right corner (1), and select "Connect to a new device" (2). (do not forget to turn on bluetooth) (do not pay attention if your device is on the main screen).
  8. The search for a new device will start, and after a while it will find your xiaomi mi band 1s fitness bracelet. Click on it with your finger, the settings will open, exit the settings. The main screen will display the status "connected".
  9. After connecting, in any conductor andorid, go to our firmware file Mili_hr.fw (done in step 5), and click on it.
  10. The Gadgetbridge app will open with a warning that the firmware has not been tested and that it is not recommended to install it. But we all know this perfectly well, and we follow this instruction at our own peril and risk. Click "install".
  11. The process of flashing the bracelet will begin. The process is not fast, it can take up to 10 minutes. The progress of the firmware can be seen in the notification curtain.
  12. After a successful update, the notification curtain will display "Firmware installation complete", and the bracelet will unhook from Gadgetbridge - "no connection". Connect, click on the i in the cup and check that the versions are the same as in the picture.
  13. After checking the version, we untie the xiaomi mi band 1s from Gadgetbridge. Long click on your device, the menu will be highlighted, select "Disconnect" in it. And we leave from Gadgetbridge (three dots in the upper corner, exit).
  14. Now we download the most adequate version of Mi Fit, namely MiFit1.7.521MS ++. Install. I have a version without a voice on the link - MiFit1.7.521MS ++ _ iqubik_No_Voice_RUN.apk.
  15. After installation, launch Mi Fit (uncheck the "Quality Improvement Program" and click OK, enter xiaomi account), and bind your xiaomi mi band 1s.
  16. Just in case, we check the firmware versions of the bracelet in the Mi Fit application. The firmware version is 4.15.12.10. The Heart Rate version is 1.3.74.64.
  17. For a more accurate determination of sleep phases, turn on heart rate monitoring (highlighted in the picture above).
  18. Turn on the smart alarm clock in the alarm settings. Function: early awakening.
  19. This completes the settings of the smart alarm clock, but in order not to knock them down, you must follow the recommendations.

    Recommendations for using the xiaomi mi band 1s pulse smart alarm clock

  • Never update the Mi Fit app;
  • never update firmware xiaomi mi band 1s;
  • wear the xiaomi mi band 1s pulse fitness bracelet on your non-dominant hand;
  • it is better not to go to the bath and bath with it.

Like that. I will clarify once again if play market will offer to update Mi Fit, refuse. If, by launching the Mi Fit application, it wants to update or update the firmware of the bracelet, refuse. These points are very important.

Conclusion

I want to express my gratitude to the user SeteVoi67 with his fasting on w3bsit3-dns.com, and airflava user with his fasting on w3bsit3-dns.com. My instructions are based on their messages. Just expanded with pictures and more detailed description every step.

On my own, I hope you liked the article and I helped you set up the xiaomi mi band 1s smart alarm clock. If you have any questions, comments, etc. leave in the comments. Your opinion is very important to me, I want to provide quality content. We put likes, plus signs, subscribe to my blog. All good.

After installing the firmware, the user will receive the following list of new features for the bracelet:

  • Eliminates current bugs in case the update occurs to a later version;
  • Translates the gadget interface into Russian and allows you to completely disconnect from Chinese services;
  • Date display in addition to time;
  • Activation of the voice assistant in Russian;
  • Increase in the number of received notifications up to 20;
  • The ability to set up synchronization with Google apps Fit as well as WeChat and more.

To update the software version, you need a smartphone with the ability to synchronize via the Bluetooth 4.0 interface and, in fact, the Mi Band 2 itself. The firmware for the smart bracelet is freely available on numerous Internet resources dedicated to the fitness tracker. For future manipulations, the APK files Mili_pro_53.fw and Mili_pro.fw are required. If the firmware version of your gadget is at a value lower than 1.0.0.53, then, first of all, you must flash the device using the Mili_pro_53.fw file, then switch to the pure pro version. Otherwise, there is a risk of problems with the operation of the smart bracelet.

Search and include desired file happens through the usual file manager with pre-installation of the program for synchronizing the smartphone with the bracelet.

Firmware with Notify Fitness

Access to the extended list of bracelet capabilities is carried out in the following sequence: download the firmware file from the official website, then, using the application functionality, synchronize and further flashing.

The most difficult point is the problem of pairing a smartphone with a fitness bracelet. The issue is solved by installing additional software that determines the MAC address of the gadget: iBeaconDetector, BLE Scanner and their analogues.

The flashing mode has only recently left the beta testing stage and is available in the "Miscellaneous" category (Figure 1). The file is opened through any convenient file manager.

Firmware update via Gadgetbridge app

In case Notify Fitness and the official Mi Fit don't suit you for any reason, the Gadgetbridge app is a great alternative to the options available. The software supports correct operation with both Android smartphones and iPhone and their iOS system.

The Mi Band 2 bracelet is updated in a similar way:

  • APK files are downloaded;
  • Gadgetbridge is installed, then the gadget is synchronized with the smartphone;
  • After that, you should open the file transferred to the smartphone. At attempt to open unknown file, The software will respond with a warning about the possible danger of working with unlicensed software. Having started the installation, bypassing the notification, we will wait for its completion.
  • After a successful update, the smart bracelet reboots and the Gangetbridge reconnects to it.

Completion of the update will be reflected in the status bar (status "blind") with the following notifications, shown in Figure 2.

With the firmware update and the existing application, the user is expanding the functionality of working with numerous built-in systems: counting the Mi Band 1s Pulse, familiar to us from the "good old" bracelet, calculating the amount and quality of sleep, etc.

Firmware with Mi Fit app

Mi Fit is the official application through which the main interactions with the smart bracelet should take place. In fact, the user gets extremely capricious software, which in case of losing a smartphone, uninstalling an application, updating the firmware refuses to “cooperate” with the fitness tracker, referring to the impossibility of reconnecting while the device is “connected” with other smartphones.

An important nuance is the need to create account indicating the phone number, after which the device will receive an SMS notification with a security code to complete the registration procedure.

Working with the application is similar to the previous options: installing software, setting up synchronization and further downloading and opening the APK file.

Then there is a background installation, followed by restarting the bracelet and reconnecting the watch to the smartphone. After that, you have at your disposal a completely new and expanded range of capabilities of your fitness tracker.

Restoring the performance of the Mi Band

A common problem with working with a fitness tracker is a situation when Mi Band 2 does not connect to a smartphone. The key to the error lies in two sources:

  • Either you have encountered a factory defect and the bracelet is subject to a return;
  • Or, the device was not properly disconnected from the previous smartphone. Reinstalling the firmware, deleting the Mi Fit application is also a consequence of the impossibility of using the fitness tracker profile in the future.

For the full use of the gadget, it is recommended to install third-party software. The previously mentioned Notify Fitness is a great replacement for the proprietary Mi Fit app, offering a wide range of functionality, from the described Mi Band 2 flashing, to working with reminders, alarms, reactions to incoming notifications, and more.

An important point is the irreconcilable "enmity" between Notify & Fitness for Mi Band 2 and the official Mi Fit. For the purpose of bypassing possible mistakes, freezes and other incidents, it is recommended to leave only the required Notify Fitness, and remove the inoperative Mi Fit.

A successful start will be facilitated by pre-scanning and determining the MAC address of the bracelet through the BLE Scanner application. Then, after synchronizing via Bluetooth 4.0, the user will receive a refurbished and ready-to-use fitness tracker.

How to find out the firmware version of Mi Band 2

It is possible to get acquainted with the current version of the firmware of your bracelet by any application that has the ability to synchronize between a smartphone and Mi Band. So, for example, the considered Gadgetbridge, when connected, is able to show not only the firmware version, but also the current hardware version.

Similarly, it is possible to get to the firmware version through the Mi Fit application, select the "Profile" category, then go to the "Devices" block, where you need, by selecting your fitness tracker, move to the very bottom of the menu, where the information you are interested in will be displayed ...
