Installing the official firmware. How to flash Xiaomi from the Chinese version to the global Xiaomi mi6 firmware

At the end of spring 2018, Xiaomi Mi 6X became the expected novelty for fans of functional mobile devices middle class. The device was distinguished by two "smart" cameras, a modern, almost frameless design and a thin one-piece metal body with rounded corners. The device was run on Android 8.1 in conjunction with MIUI 9.5. But already now the most advanced owners of this gadget have begun to think about flashing it to even more modern software. For those users who are afraid to independently carry out such manipulations with the phone, we recommend contacting our service center. There, for sure, your device will not be harmed. For the more daring, we will tell you how to do it.

Unlocking

Like all Xiaomi devices, this smartphone is endowed with a locked bootloader function. To put a global firmware on it, this prohibition must be removed.

1.Go to the official MIUI website (http://en.miui.com) and create an account.

2.On the page http://en.miui.com/unlock, fill in the request form.

3.Click Next, enter the confirmation code (it will come to the specified number).

4. We are waiting for a positive notification on the phone from the developer (from several minutes to 2 weeks).

Important! You need to link your gadget to your mi-account. To do this, in the developer mode, enter it, perform the binding and wait for a notification from the manufacturer from 72 hours to 2 weeks.

5. After receiving the authorizing SMS (about lifting the ban), download the Mi Flash Unlock utility on your PC (http://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html). We save everything to disk C.

6. We enter the gadget into Fastboot mode (together press the volume down and turn on button until the branded hare appears) and connect it to the computer via a high-quality cable.

7. After launching the service program, we pass identification through our account, agree to the risks.

8. We launch the service program and go through identification in the same MI account from which they asked for permission to unlock.

9. We activate the process with the "Unlock" button and wait for the inscription "Unlocked successfully" (notification of unlocking).

Preparing MiFlash

As a helper program, we took the version with MI flash. For it to work correctly, you need to remove the authentication of the installed drivers on your computer. Note that for each version Windows process tripping is slightly different, but in general, the algorithm looks like this:

  • through a squeezed Shift key reboot;
  • in the "Start" menu we enter "diagnostics" and then into "additional parameters";
  • in the “boot parameters via F7, select the line marked in red, as shown in the screenshot below;

After the done actions, download and install MiFlash on your PC. The utility folder should contain ADB / Fastboot. We save everything after unzipping to disk C. Download the firmware to our phone model. If the global version of the software is found, then after downloading, we save the unzipped file at the address without Russian characters.

Flashing

After service program launched, we are going to the final stage - reprogramming.

1. In Fastboot mode, connect the device to the PC (the battery charge level is at least 50%, all files are copied to the external drive).

2. In the command line (with the ADB utility running), on behalf of the administrator, type fastboot devices. In response, an inscription should appear on the screen identifying our device. If we see “waiting for ..”, then we check the connection.

3. We enter into fastboot and then oem reboot-edl - this is how we transfer the device to "Emergency Download".

4. After receiving on your smartphone sound signal When the synchronization is complete, proceed to the installation of the firmware file.

5. Launch MiFlash. With the “Refresh” command we update the list of connected devices.

6. After our device appears in the table, click on “Browse” and then write the path to the firmware in the line.

7. At the bottom we mark the complete formatting (clean all).

8. We start through "Flash".

The entire installation procedure will be displayed on the screen. It can take from 10 minutes to 1 hour. After completion, the device will need to be turned on in forced mode (long press on the power button), then disconnected from the computer and then give another 5 minutes for self-rebooting. That's it, the process of flashing the gaming device is complete!
