Micro usb magnetic charging. Magnetic USB cable. Compatible with any device

Today I will tell you about another wonderful thing - a magnetic cable for charging a smartphone. What it is and why it can be useful to you - you will learn from this post.

Once upon a time I wanted myself a wireless charger, well, like on Nokia, in order to put the phone on a disk or on a special platform, and it charged there itself. Such charges are also called induction.

The essence of induction charging for your phone

The essence of this thing is that you do not need to plug in the cable, just put the phone on a certain surface and that's it - it charges itself! This is really convenient, because not only do you need to constantly insert the socket with the right side with a micro usb cable, but also this socket itself looses over time. In addition, for such charging to work, you need support for this technology in the phone itself. And this is not everywhere ...

Later I found out and found on the same Aliexpress not only the platforms themselves, but also antennas for telephones. It's such a thin, wide thing that sticks in behind back cover your phone is connected to the micro usb input and then the smartphone can be put on induction charging and enjoy life.

It may look like this, there are even chargers already installed in the lids and the entire lid changes:

The antenna for such charging can be mounted directly in the phone cover

The charges themselves cost something about the mower, and the antennas in the phone cost from two hundred rubles. A little expensive for the convenience, but generally ponto. But this technology has its drawbacks.

Cons of induction charging

  • It is wireless only in the sense that you do not need to stick a wire into the socket, but, for it to work, you need contact with the charging surface, no more than 2-3 mm. In fact, if you move the phone a little, then it may stop charging. And you won't even notice it.
  • She charges noticeably slower an ordinary cable. After all, the efficiency of these pieces is much less.
  • Not every phone will fit such an antenna, I would not fit into mine.
  • Your micro usb slot is always busy... And this is sad, for example, if you are walking down the street with a "can" and you need to recharge, you will have to take this thing out and stick in an ordinary wire - the whole point disappears.
  • You will have to do the same if you need to delete data from your phone. We'll have to disconnect the antenna and insert normal micro usb - cable.
  • She is still very expensive... And keep in mind that you would have to buy a set - charging + antenna, and this is at least 1200 rubles.
  • They also say that she gets very hot.

In general, I decided, well, it nafig, this induction charging. And he continued to live with his old micro usb cord, continuing to swear every time, sticking it into the socket, and quietly shaking it ... until I came across one interesting piece.

Magnetic cable for charging android smartphone

Well, or any other that has a micro usb input.

How does this magnetic charging work?

The cable consists of two parts - one is long, about a meter long in my case, at the end of the USB. The second is a short pip, in which one end is a micro usb, and the other is a five-pin pad. However, in the long part of the cable there is the same area. These two parts are connected with a magnet, so that in the end we get a full cable, micro usb - usb.

This is how it looks when ordering on Ali

The small part of the magnetic charging is inserted into the socket of the phone, the long part into the charger, jar or usb port computer. The connection occurs by bringing one part to another. Click - the magnets locked and the charging started!

Pros of magnetic charging cable

Let's see what it gives us.

  • No more poking the micro usb cable into the socket charging and thereby loosen it. You need to insert a shallow pad once into the phone jack and that's it! Now charging your phone is easy and simple.
  • It is double-sided, that is, like the usb type C input, we do not care which side to bring the cable to the phone. You won't stick it in with the other side.
  • You can also transfer data through it. That is, you do not have to remove the plug from the phone, just insert the long part of the cable into the PC. The only thing is that data transmission occurs only in the position with the diode up.
  • You can eat from a can and other things. Also, you just need to rearrange the cable in the jar.
  • It doesn't get warm. At least for me. Although I read that people have it, they get warm, but these cables are also different.
  • It can be clearly seen in the dark, because there is a bright diode on the main cable and it is very convenient to find it in the evening.
  • You will not rip out the socket if you accidentally pick up your phone while charging. Because the cable will just snap off easily. Also, the phone will not be knocked down by your children, or, for example, a cat - the magnet will come off.

Cons of magnetic cable for android

They are there too. Although they may seem far-fetched, nevertheless.

  • It is relatively expensive... At least I bought it for 600 rubles. Although it is cheaper than the set, which I wrote about at the beginning of the article. True, there are models for two hundred rubles, but it's somehow dumb to buy them)
  • Charging time is still longer than just a regular cable. Let's say my two-amp charger charges the phone like this in 1.5 hours, and through this cable in two.
  • Its plus - easily unfastened - its minus... It is not very convenient to charge the phone, for example, in a jacket pocket. It can become a little at an angle and no longer charge anything. At home everything is ok on the table or on the floor.
  • Due to this instability, it definitely cannot be used to flash a phone. Never try to "sew" through such a thing!
  • If you pull the cable sharply towards you, the plug may pop out.
  • However, she can just get lost, although mine is still in place for three months). But a couple of times I fell out, I immediately found it.
  • Not suitable for everyone in design. For example, my phone plug fits well, although the entrance is from the side. At the same time, it is still covered with a cover. But for someone it can stick out asymmetrically and look very miserable.
  • You will have to carry this cable with you... There is hardly such a magnetic charge at a party. Well, or every time you remove the plug to charge with a regular cable. By the way, if I go for a walk for a long time, then I take it along with the can - and no problem)

Nevertheless, when I found out about such magnetic charging, I decided that this was what I needed, so I ordered it yourself-you-know-where.

By the way, a similar technology is used in magnetic chargers on iPhones, Aypads and other "Ai" pieces.

Where to buy a magnetic cable to charge your phone

Unfortunately, the store where I bought it no longer sells such cables, only phone cases are left there. I ordered the original Wsken cable. On the same Ali, there are other models of similar cables, but it was about Wsken that I came across good feedback... There are also fakes on it. Yeah, China is counterfeiting China. By the way, my cable included two connectors - plugs, for example, to be inserted directly into the phone and into the tablet. Or somewhere else. Pay attention to this when you order for yourself.

Screenshot of ordering a magnetic cable on Aliexpress

If it is not in my store, then you can search on Ali yourself. Inquiry " magnetic cable"- displays everything on this topic. Be careful, there is everything there for iPhones too. Let's add our brand Wsken here: magnetic cable Wsken... We got almost what we need, but they also make cables for iPhones in the same way, so let's watch what we need.

We go through the lots, look at the stars and crystals,.

Since it was on this cable there were a lot of fakes, their campaign was removed, but here it seems like their official store, 565 orders, product rating 4.9, the price tag at the time of this writing is 570 - 800 rubles, depending on the configuration. True, their design has become somewhat different.

You can look for more similar things, for example. Same way, store associated with this brand, here is a two-meter cable and a choice of different connection options is available - for iPhones, androids, and so on. Be careful when ordering. Price list from 800 rubles.

Well, that's enough for a start.

In general, they differ there in length and method of connection, by and large. And also the number of these plugs available immediately in the kit, because such a different price.

Let's move on to live photos and impressions.

My video review on a magnetic cable for charging an android phone with micro usb Wsken

How quickly did the magnetic charge arrive?

Despite the many statuses, I received it 17 days after ordering, and this is quite good:

How it rode

What was inside and what does this magnetic cable for charging the phone look like in general?

Small package, complete with cable and two connectors. One of them can be stored directly in this package - it won't get lost. While I have it there.

During operation, the charger glows white, although there are models with green and red diodes. They sent me one.

Feedback on the use of magnetic charging for the phone

All the pros and cons described at the beginning of the article are all from personal experience. Yes, charging your phone has become much more convenient. There are two reasons why I need to charge it frequently. Even three.

Firstly, the phone itself has a rather weak battery, although everything else is fine. Secondly, I play a lot of Ingress (it's like Pokemon, only more interesting), and he eats a battery like mad, so you have to constantly carry a can with you. Now I carry this cable with me too.

Hello everyone.

The package was sent with a full track, so you can see all the information about its movement from China to Belarus.

The first thing that surprised me after I opened the package was that there were two bags inside. At first I thought that I was lucky and instead of one cable I would get two at once, but that was not the case. As it turned out, the cable comes in a separate original bag, which is the original packaging, and the connector that connects to the charged device is in a separate one.

The seller has connectors of the 3 most popular types available: for devices from Apple, microUSB and USB type C. ).

The contents of the sachets are as follows:

The cable is 1 meter long - like most standard cables. The braid is made of woven fabric (threads), which makes it soft and flexible. Curls as you like without any problems. Both on the full-fledged USB connector and on the “base” of the microUSB connector there is an inscription with the manufacturer's name.

The font is a bit crooked, but in general there are no complaints about the quality of the cable. There are also no complaints about the quality of the connector. The magnet is installed in the part of the connector located on the cable, so that this section constantly wants to stick to a wide variety of metal objects. If you carry it in a bag along with keys or something similar, you will have to tear it off constantly.

Nothing interesting about appearance there is no place for connecting the connector to the cable - a copper core, framed by a magnet:

The connector itself looks exactly the same:

In principle, there is nothing more interesting in the appearance of the cable, which means that you can proceed to the most curious one - checking its performance.

To be honest, I thought for a long time what the word "LED" means in the name of the lot. So, after connecting the cable to the charging, I understood. it turns out he knows how to glow. And it makes it a bright blue.

The connector is constantly on, regardless of whether the connector with the charged device is connected to it. As for me, it would be better to make this glow an indicator. Connected the device - it is on, turned it off - the glow is extinguished.

The connector itself does not stand out much against the background of the connected device. Even in the case of mobile phone it doesn't look very critical. For example with Xiaomi Remi 4X it looks like this:

Due to the fact that the magnet in the cable is powerful enough, there is no need to aim the cable at the connector. The cable itself perfectly clings to the connector, you just need to bring it to it at a distance of 0.5-1 centimeter. After the cable and connector are magnetised to each other, the charging process begins. most of all I was interested in what characteristics this cable has in terms of current transfer. What is it capable of and is it very different from conventional cables. In order to check this, I used an adjustable load and a charger.

To be honest, the results obtained during the test surprised me:

As you can see in the photo, the current transmitted through the cable was 2.73A. The maximum possible load would be 3A. Moreover, the difference is not due to the cable, but to the charger - its maximum current is limited to 2.75A. So the cable is not even bad at all. Not every common specimen is capable of showing such characteristics.

The biggest disadvantage of this product is the inability to use it for data transmission. Cables of this design can only be used for charging and nothing more, which is logical, because by and large there are only 2 wires (plus and minus). Although I personally don't remember when I connected the phone to a PC for data exchange ... But if you buy a couple of connectors, you can get by with one cable. It is especially important if you have to charge several devices with different connectors - you no longer have to look for the right cable. In addition, by inserting the connector into the same phone, you can leave it there forever, which will entail a significant increase in its resource. After all, most often the connectors mobile devices fail precisely because of their frequent use.

Summing up everything that has been written here, I can say that I liked the cable and I do not regret buying it. He copes with his functions perfectly. I ordered a couple more connectors in order to connect them to the phone of my wife and daughter, so that you can get rid of the standard wires.

This, perhaps, is all. Thank you for your attention and your time.

Hello everyone.

I saw a similar cable in our stores, the price is from 500 rubles and much higher. I thought it would be better to order on Aliexpress.

Read carefully what the seller writes in order to avoid any misunderstandings.

The wire is suitable for all devices with a connector micro USB.

The order came to Moscow a month later, the track was not tracked. There was no foreign smell.

My wire is 1 meter. You can choose a different color and length from the seller.

The magnetic cable came in a plastic bag and a bubble wrap envelope.

The husband unpacked the parcel, quickly crumpled it and was about to throw it away. How? Where to? And I completely forgot to take a picture that I am writing reviews.

Silver-colored wire in a reliable metallized braid. I thought it was some kind of ordinary thread, and my husband persistently))) explained that the wire was metallized. There is a standard USB connector on one end with a USB icon on one side. Which makes it easier to connect it to the source port.

On the other end is a detachable micro USB that plugs into the phone permanently. This port and its counterpart are equipped with neodymium magnets and contacts. The magnets are quite powerful, and they are attracted to each other from a distance of 2 cm. Moreover, the manufacturer has positioned the polarity so that no matter which side the reciprocal port will be attracted to.

This port is equipped with LED lighting. This is very convenient if you need to charge your phone at night, but you don't want to turn on the light. You just bring the phone to the light, and it will attract itself as it should.

The light in the dark shines brightly, even too much.

What are the advantages of such a wire?

If you forgot that the phone is charging and pulled it with all the foolishness (well, you never know, suddenly an urgent call), then the wire will not break and the connector will not bend. It will simply detach easily and the micro USB will remain in the phone. At night, in the dark))) they just found a green beacon, brought the phone to it and that's it, it is already charging.

I will note that the part with the LED heats up a little when charging. For this I don’t take a star off, I’ll just put it in a small minus.

Output: I ordered this cable myself, my color was not available then. I have a Xiaomi smartphone in gold color. Now I ordered another wire, this time Gold.

micro USB is always in the phone, the case can be put on without any problems and does not touch the connector in any way.

I am one hundred percent satisfied with the purchase.

I bought a cool and very convenient wire. Not wireless charging, but still very convenient. It is friendly with high currents, charges Android and iPhone. It comes in handy even for fast charging - it holds Qualcomm Quick Charge 2/3, analogues from Apple, Huawei and Mediatekl.

Applies to all magnetic wires: if you use it inattentively, you can burn your smartphone. Or the whole apartment.

Is the "magnetic" charging cable convenient?

"Magnetic" cable it would be more correct to call "Plug-in cable" ... The main part consists of a regular wire, a USB connector for connecting to charger, and a contact pad with a powerful magnet.

The charging part is connected to it, consisting of a connector, a magnet and contacts. This part is inserted into the port of the device for charging. The magnets in the 2 parts of the cable are attracted at a distance of 1 to 5 centimeters, ensuring a strong connection and connecting the device to the charger.

What is good about the "magnetic" cable? A bunch of pluses:

no need to lift the cable and try to get the connector into the port of the smartphone,
there is no risk of breaking the port with a connector,
the connector pins are not damaged.

And if the first is just convenience, then the replacement of the connector is the most common reason for the appearance of the device in the service. Break out the port - like 2 fingers on the asphalt. What's iPhone, what's Android.

By eliminating the need to plug the cable into the device every time you charge, you actually save your smartphone.

About convenience: you need to put your smartphone near the cable, and the wire will connect itself. Almost like wireless charging, only any smartphone does not need a case. Well, or almost unnecessary.

How to choose the right one?

For experimentation, I chose several cables: Moizen M4, Newest and unnamed. As it turned out, this is the same wire with a different price and store number, similar to my old SDL with one plug.

Includes meter wire and connectors: microUSB, Lightning, USB Type-C (not available in Moizen). The properties are pretty tempting: metal braid, neat plastic USB plug, well-formed part with a magnetic pad.

Also on the magnetic pad of the cable there is an LED that signals the connection of the wire to the charger or computer.

The question arises - how did you manage to implement a "blind" connection without looking at your smartphone? After all, the microUSB, Lightning and USB Type-C interfaces have a clear sequence of contacts for charging. The Chinese have found an elegant solution for this cable.

The magnetic pad on the cable is installed closer to the edge. Each of the 3 connectors has 2 pairs of similar ones. The cable is connected to the one at the bottom - this eliminates the wrong pinout. You can turn the wire over either side - no difference.

With the used cable, the smartphone can be charged and connected to a computer for transferring data by either side to the connector: turn the wire over as you like.

Short successful test

Testing has shown that the maximum bandwidth of the cable is suitable for fast charging of any devices: up to 12V, 2 A. Apple fast charging (tested on iPad), Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 / 3.0, Mediatek Pump Express works.

When charging with maximum parameters, there are no failures and heating. The test is successful for all devices - you can use it.

All devices recognize the wire and work normally. Certain problems can arise with Lightning, since only 5 pins are used: although in testing the iPhone 7 Plus perceived a wire, Apple's protective mechanisms can set the heat.

All other algorithms behave as if they were native. Now my Android is hanging on it - all the time when I'm at the table (about 8 hours a day with breaks). Works like a clock.

Serious drawbacks are that all connectors stick out decently (by 2.5 millimeters) when installed in a smartphone. In a case it is almost imperceptible, but without it at first it becomes very unusual.

And if not for one important point, you could just write a review about a good wire for a penny. The case helped to clarify one bug that applies to all magnetic wires.

How not to kill a smartphone with a magnetic cable

The smartphone is heavy enough for the wire to drag it along. Therefore, if the lace adheres to something, at the moment of magnetizing the pad, the contacts sometimes do not press well - a small inconspicuous gap remains.

With poor contact and high charging currents, the connector begins to heat up, which can lead to a fire.

The problem is treated very simply - it is enough to release a little more wire than necessary. Then, at the moment of docking, he himself will fall into place. Or put the smartphone along the cable laying line, swiping the smartphone along it a little immediately after docking.

The heating temperature does not exceed the temperature of a hot smartphone. But still, this is a rather unpleasant moment that is worth remembering. Is it worth it to abandon the "magnetic wires" because of this?
The price is as follows.
