Bose soundlink mini bluetooth portable acoustics. Wireless speakers Bose SoundLink Color Black. Rich rich sound

- 8 February 2015

I'll be the first :-)
I bought this device today. Choosing between the Bose soundlink mini and this, and still chose this. Firstly, the price difference. Secondly, I didn't notice a very big difference between mini and Color. Of course, it is, but I compare it with the mini only because today the mini is considered, in fact, almost the standard of such a technique. Now, more specifically ... The sound is very good. The mids and highs are fairly well balanced, and the bass also has a place. Compared to most of these speakers ... the color does not sound like a can, but quite decent. Again ... balanced and soft enough. That is, listening is really pleasant. Personally, I need a speaker mainly for watching movies at low volume. And so far she is doing well. Oddly enough for such a device ... there is no cacaphony of any kind. Everything sounds quite clear and clear. Of course, it also depends on the quality of the audio. Compared to the mini, the sound here lacks volume, and the bass is certainly less. But I'm not a strong fan of very big bass, the main thing is that they are here and do not drown out the rest of the frequencies. As well as do not merge with them, and do not mumble. Some films sound a little muffled, but I repeat, it depends on the quality of the audio. Overall, I expected the worst. The desire to take the column to the store has not yet arisen. For me, the advantages are in its greater mobility and the declared operating time. But it is too early to judge this. Overall, good balanced sound. With bass and stuff. Sometimes it's a little deaf, but I haven't noticed a big "can" effect yet. Everything sounds very good for such a speaker.
Appearance I like it too. I took it in blue, it looks pretty good. Slightly retro, or something. voice alerts that can be turned off, but they do not interfere. You can connect two devices at once, and use them alternately, which is also convenient. You can also connect a player, but I haven't tested it. For my purposes, to watch a movie, sometimes music or radio is fine for now.

Advantages:

Sound, compactness, usability, appearance.

Flaws:

I haven't noticed yet.

Well ... after watching the reviews, I decided to take something more expensive (there is also a cheaper i200Pro4 for example) and with real good sound... But in a compact size so you can carry it with you.
Original. But - Disappointment !!! The sound is certainly not bad, the bass is there, But ... physics cannot be fooled, you have to pay for the size (and in the case of BOSE more than once)))) Judging by the manufacturer's website, it is positioned as a sport, but I don't really believe that it capable of sounding sports in a noisy room. Directional sound. At the maximum, everything wheezes early.
I expected more ... it would cost 3-5 thousand, that's okay .... but for 10k .... the sound obviously does not pull!

In general, if the money is not a pity, then you can take it, all the same, everything else is cheaper, more expensive, but it plays about the same size of the same size. The difference is in the nuances, but you shouldn't expect a miracle.

    Advantages:

    Brand ...
The actual dimensions in the hand are smaller than expected.
    Sound probably ...
    Choice of body colors
    Build quality.

    Flaws:

Wanted an external speaker - that's just it and get it
    No microphone
    The sound is dull
At the maximum, it still wheezes
    Price

I bought it in November 2014 as a gift, everyone was satisfied. The sound is amazing! Plays loudly and efficiently, without any wheezing or hints of sound distortion. The quality of the case is excellent, the battery lasts for 6-7 hours, it is friendly with "PowerBank" without any problems.

    Advantages:

Very good portable speaker... High-quality bass, ideal for travel, a variety of body colors.

    Flaws:

CAUTION, FAKE !!! Be sure to check the bottom of the column for the presence of factory stamps / inscriptions, serial number etc. And also when turning on, pay attention to the voice language selection, it must be! The original box is rectangular, large enough. A fake box is closer to a square, compact one. The BOSE logo on the original is white, while the fake is silver and of dubious quality.

    Period of use:

    several months

More recently, I thought about buying a portable speaker system for use outside the home (in the garden, picnic, on vacation). Since the second Companion from Bose is already at home, he did not experience any particular agony of choosing a brand. I only thought about taking SoundLink Mini or Color. The price tag and dimensions have tipped the scales towards the latter. I bought it, turned it on, listened. I realized that I bought exactly what I wanted. The sound quality on the wire is better, but on BT it is quite on par. Connects with everything he offered. In a word, a very solid thing. Not cheap though.

    Advantages:

Good balanced sound, portability, nothing superfluous, decent headroom

Due to the design of the speaker, many have the impression that this is a mono speaker, but this is not so, if you look closely, you can see 2 round speakers and 1 oval passive behind the perforation, so Color is full younger brother SoundLink Mini. About fakes: do not get fooled by low price and buy from authorized Bowes dealers. By the way, using the "play / pause" button, you can control playback if you connect your smartphone via bluetooth, even on android. 1 click - pause / play, 2 clicks - next track, 3 clicks - previous track. To reset the settings to the factory settings, you need to hold down the "AUX" and "turn down the volume" buttons for 10 seconds

    Advantages:

Great rich sound in any musical genre; compact size (at which the speaker produces decent bass); automatic frequency balancing, thanks to which maximum volume there are no wheezing and distortion; battery life up to 8 hours; body made of high quality durable plastic. Micro-usb charging.

I am writing a review on the day of purchase.
I will say right away that there is a Harman / Kardon Onix at home. There is something to compare, and I listened to many others in salons and stores. In the store, the sound was not impressed, at first glance it was not shocking, dull and flat.
At home, in a calm atmosphere, I listened to my favorite tracks and was satisfied.
I got a little more than expected. I did not find the speaker configuration on the network. There were 2 round loudspeakers and two passive oval radiators (emitters) in the lattice gap. One passive in the front, the second in the back.
As a result, the pressure does not create a joke and does not lift the middle with the tops. The sound turned out to be very balanced, clean. There are also enough details. The vocals are pleasant to listen to, the instrumental music is enjoyable. Heavy genres lose a bit of legibility, but the format is not the same.
In general, Bose did not tarnish his honor, a very worthy option. Looks much cheaper than it sounds.

    Advantages:

The sound is really impressive. Working out the entire range, excluding the very bottom, but the bass is not small.

    Flaws:

Not speakerphone, defective power supply included.

  • A portable speaker with an extraordinary layout that can help you entertain yourself in the most different situations; the strength of Bose SoundLink Revolve is social, this is achieved with the help of surround sound, but there are other tricks, for example, a pair of Revolve can work together ...

    Design, construction

The popularity of the Bose SoundLink Mini pushed the entire category of small Bluetooth speakers into space - now many people think that portable speakers have always been on the market, but in fact it's only been four years since the first Mini was introduced. At first, the column was tasted in the USA and Europe, even those who did not believe in the possibility of high-quality sound at such sizes were surprised and placed an order, then the glory came to Russia.

I remember how I convinced my friend to try the Bose SoundLink Mini and even went to the store with him to dispel all doubts, he listened, was surprised and immediately paid the money. The most interesting thing is that before the Bose SoundLink Mini there were many different small speakers on the market, a variety of companies made serious efforts - Nokia tried to get people hooked on such things ten years ago, portable acoustics were made in Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Jawbone. But, people should be convinced of the necessity and capabilities of the device before paying - at some point there is a turning point and in the reports the sales are flying up before saturation occurs. By the way, now there is a strange moment when all self-respecting companies have portable acoustics, five or six positions, speakers for business trips and gatherings in the garden, protected and unprotected, ultra-compact for running and huge systems with Bluetooth that can help in arranging a small concert. And there seems to be no saturation yet, companies are quietly updating their lines, new names appear. Apparently, this situation will persist for another couple of years, along with Bluetooth headphones, the category is quietly growing for itself, blooming and everything is fine - well, for the consumer it is very important to choose the right thing in the sea of a portable device.

Here you should immediately notice that in the case of portable acoustics the price and the name of the manufacturer always matter and, even without hearing, it is easy to notice the difference. Therefore, I will not fail to repeat an important thought - before you pay, go to the store and listen to yourself with your tracks. Or listen when the courier from the online store brings you. They don't take money for this, but then there will be no disappointment.

Bose has carefully prepared for the spring-summer season of 2017, presented three portable speakers at once, these are Bose SoundLink Revolve, Bose SoundLink Revolve + and Bose SoundLink Color II. The most expensive of these is the Bose SoundLink Revolve +, the most affordable Bose SoundLink Color II. I will say in advance that I personally liked the Bose SoundLink Revolve + the most, but the usual Revolve, a summer hit, will be on sale with all its might. There will be separate texts for all columns for your convenience, but I decided to start with Revolve. Another important note, Mini II remains on the shelf, speakers are not removed from production. So far, nothing is known about the sequel. So Revolve is just an extension of Bose's portables.

Just like in Mini, and in many other Bose devices, good sound quality is achieved here due to the use of a fantastic circuit - only one (!) Wide-range speaker is installed in the case, working with passive membranes directed in opposite directions.

A similar scheme is used in Mini, only there the elements are located differently, to the left and to the right of the speakers, between them there are passive membranes - the scheme in Revolve made it possible to get the "sound around". Sound really surrounds Revolve, creating a dense acoustic field, incredible feeling, especially given the size of the device. This is precisely the difference between Bose devices and gadgets from other companies - due to special design, it is possible to achieve not only some more or less high-quality sound for a small speaker. No, here we are talking about special experiences, sensations from the track - I think any owner of SoundLink Mini will agree with me. Even if you have floor standing speakers and a complete set of equipment for several million rubles, in a number of situations SoundLink will delight you, whether it is a trip, a trip out of town or anything like that. So Revolve continues Bose's portable history, only in a slightly different format. At the holidays, they gathered at the table and Revolve showed itself perfectly, put it in the center, turned on a quiet radio, everyone is happy. He took it and put it on the table in the garden. Then, when everyone went to drink tea, he took it with him. Together, you can watch some videos on your smartphone with good sound, turn on music and let others do it. And everyone around you can hear it perfectly! If SoundLink Mini is a device for an egoist (by and large), then Revolve is a social thing, for companies, for a family, maybe even for a small cafe or office. Put it closer to the center, turn it on, enjoy.

Now let's take a closer look at design. Aluminum body, perforated towards the middle. On the this moment there are two speaker options, black and silver. I think black is very boring, I would choose silver. The column is weighty, about 660 grams, dimensions 15.2 x 8.2 x 8.2 cm. It won't take up much space in the luggage, the branded covers have not yet been shown.

On the top, there is a traditional set of controls, a choice of a sound source (Bluetooth or 3.5 mm), a power button, volume buttons, a multifunction button. With its help, you can answer a call, start a track. As a speakerphone, the column works without problems, it is quite possible to talk at a short distance. The Bluetooth button allows you to select an already connected device, quickly switch to pairing mode. There is a system of voice notifications, including in Russian - the names of the connected devices are spoken, the remaining charge time, there is synchronization of contacts. Now, when you call, Revolve says the subscriber's number if the contact is recorded in Russian. If written in Latin, then the subscriber's name is sounded, without a number. If voice prompts are pissed off, you can turn them off. In general, the speaker may well function as a hands-free negotiation device or even as a device for impromptu meetings.

The body of the device is protected from splashes according to the IPx4 standard, you do not need to throw it into the water, the column will withstand splashes. If the scenario with the pool seems somehow exotic, let me remind you about the possibilities of using Bose SoundLink Revolve in the kitchen, in the bathroom, on the sports field near the house, on the street near the country house - there are hundreds of places where, in theory, splashes can get on the device. So, Revolve is ready for water.

Finally, in more detail about the materials. In addition to aluminum, which is immune to the blows of fate, hard rubber is used, the top and bottom are velvety, the Revolve stands on a massive soft leg. Interestingly, there is a thread for mounting on a tripod or other stand, which is not often found in portable speakers. Why is this done? Since the sound spreads around, you can buy a stand, fix the Revolve, connect it to the power supply and put it on the veranda for the summer to delight your home with good music. It seems to be a trifle, but someone will surely like it.

Although, Revolve has no trifles, Bose engineers have clocked so many things here - you are amazed. Moreover, this applies to both hardware and software.

    Bose connect

Like some other Bose devices with Bluetooth, the speaker works with the Bose Connect software, there are versions of the utility for iOS / Android. Using the program, you can update the speaker software, select the Party mode, two devices work in stereo mode - while Party works only with Bose SoundLink Revolve and Bose SoundLink Revolve +. I tried it, a sensible thing, the operating range is about ten meters, the sound is transmitted without delay. An interesting mode for companies with Revolve owners, you can sound a large area. Two Revolve + is more than enough for a 100-meter apartment, especially if there are few floors.

Using the app, you can change the device name, select the language, quickly switch between your Bose devices. In general, it is imperative to install - at least to update the software.

    Working hours

The claimed battery life is 12 hours, there are two ways to charge, microUSB on the back and an optional cradle, the contacts are at the bottom, to charge you just need to put the speaker back. It takes about two hours to charge.

    Sound

As I said above, this is about emotion - Revolve has a very special sound for a portable speaker. If the gadget is playing in a large room and out of sight, it's hard to know exactly where the sound is coming from. Huge volume reserve, chic low frequencies, fits perfectly for electronic music, it is interesting to listen to jazz. There are no strong losses, only positive vibrations. It should be noted that the speaker constantly receives updates, during a short test I downloaded new software once for both speakers, I did not feel an obvious difference in sound, but who knows, maybe the next firmware will improve the work of the hardware.

Please note, Revolve does a great job with streaming services, be it SoundCloud, Spotify, any Internet radio, but if you want to improve the sound, try FLAC, recording good quality in different programs. The device is capable of many things. In addition to music, do not forget that with iPad Pro or another tablet, Revolve will help you pump the sound in films, but if you connect it to the Nintendo Switch with a cable, you will have a unique feeling from Zelda.

    conclusions

The pre-order for Bose SoundLink Revolve is already open, the cost is 14,990 rubles, on sale in Russia since June - the first owners will receive an excellent toy for the whole summer and the first months of autumn. Bose has got a wonderful "social" portable speaker with a gorgeous sound, which just asks for a veranda, in a garden, on the street, thanks to the design it will not interfere with your suitcase when you go on vacation, there is nothing to cling to, the body is not afraid of shocks. Great sound in the hotel is guaranteed. Of the rough edges, I note the strange work of the Bose Connect program with Revolve, but at first it was the same with the QC35 / QC30 headphones, then everything was fixed - now the program crashes in a number of cases on both iOS and Android. I would also like the definition of names written in Russian upon an incoming call.

Otherwise, it is a unique thing that can please the owner for many years; in terms of sound, Bose is able to make long-lived things. Well, if after a year or three Revolve seems too heavy to carry with you in a suitcase, then it can be screwed onto a tripod and assigned to a permanent residence in the country or in the gym.

After testing a dozen portable speakers, we learned to anticipate their advantages and disadvantages - even before we get a new device out of the box. Looking back, nothing could not prepare us to meet Bose SoundLink Mini.

Here is the most amazing portable speaker we've ever reviewed. Opportunities SoundLink Mini several times larger than its size. And it's not about the features, but about the stunning sound quality. This minimalist, small oval thing plays in such a way that the pupils of those around you dilate, the pulse quickens, and the required amount instantly spills out of the wallet. Checked.

    They did not expect

Bose- one of the synonyms for quality sound. The brand name pops up in the mind every time someone is looking for good home acoustics. So far in the pages site their mobile speakers did not appear, and it was decided to start acquaintance with them with SoundLink Mini.

SoundLink Mini forever changed the way we think about mobile sound and the power of portable speakers. And not only ours. The entire runet is replete with similar reviews from device buyers. Shock, surprise, love from the first track - this is how you can describe the first minutes of owning a speaker. In this regard, there is a question addressed to Bose's competitors: how can you compete with this at all?

    Complete set and design

The speaker package is almost predictable, with a small but very important surprise. In addition to the device itself, which lies on a plastic pedestal, the box stores network cable, micro-USB cable and docking station with inductive charging port. We will talk about her and how much she means to the owner a little later. And now about the nail of the program, sharp and aluminum.

Every second portable speaker on the market is strictly rectangular. SoundLink Mini stands out against their background: instead of perfectly straight lines - curved, rounded dimensions. The case makes it parallel to the front speaker from an expensive home theater set. The parallel, by the way, is not far from the truth. Comparing this speaker with portable speakers, even large ones, is almost pointless. There will be a beating of a lying person, only not with his hands, but with the power of sound.

All controls on the column are located at the top, in the center. Opposite the logo are all the typical keys familiar to owners of portable speakers. Power off, mute, volume control, bluetooth controller and input source switch. All outer buttons are recessed into the body. This is done in order to adjust the volume blindly. Or maybe just to dilute the design.

The work status LEDs are hidden in the dark gray stripe between the logo and the keys. There are four of them. By the way, despite its size, the speaker is not easy - 670 grams can still be felt in the hands, at the same time instinctively evoking respect and confidence in quality. There is such a weakness among gadget lovers: harder means cooler. Old habits are difficult to overcome, including because of such little things that with might and main confirm the correctness of the judgment.

The bottom is closed with a dense rubber stand, which successfully dampens the speaker's vibrations at maximum volume and completes the picture inherent in front speakers, but not in any way portable. This plate also acts as a docking station mount.

The Bose SoundLink Mini comes with a plastic docking station with an inductive charging plug. The latter connects to the corresponding port in the speaker every time you place the speaker on a "pedestal". By connecting the power to the dock, the owner has an incredibly convenient Charger continuing the best visual features of the speaker.

Instead of banging on cords every time, you can simply dock the speaker and then remove and carry it just as easily. Very comfortably. This approach allows you to hide the unsightly power cable away, behind furniture and other objects, leaving only the cradle in a visible place. It will turn out very nicely:

    Sound

Think about what the last portable speaker you listened to sounded like. And forget about it forever. Bose SoundLink Mini plays as if the size of its speakers is three to four times larger, and there are at least five of them. I think that the engineers who first assembled the prototype of this model felt the same as Gagarin during the flight into space.

A small and austere speaker from Bose reproduces well as expected high frequencies without affecting the brightness of the vocals and the effect of the presence of instruments. But then the real magic begins: we have not yet heard such detailed, varied midrange frequencies from mobile speakers. It's scary about lows: there is no separate subwoofer, but the bass sounds amazingly decent.

Bose is in no hurry to elaborate on how they managed to achieve this sound quality. Most likely miracles come from the use of a proprietary, patented dual passive radiator. Thanks to it, SoundLink Mini reproduces low frequencies with unexpected detail, filling music with depth and variety, unusual for mobile speakers.

This is exactly the column to listen to before drawing any conclusions. Otherwise, there is simply nothing to argue and debate about. Hats off to Bose.

    Additional accessories and price

Bose's minimalist case design can be customized with one of five multi-colored cases. The format is known to every iPhone owner: in fact, these are silicone bumpers with colored stripes on the edges and a transparent protective wall. By matching the bumper to the color of the room, you can integrate the SoundLink Mini into any décor. And at the same time, and protect from falls from the shelf.

In addition to bumpers, Bose sells a branded survival-style cover that Tracer.ru audiences will definitely like. Really high quality and dense, with a pocket for cables and the most soft inner side, this case is perfect for transporting SoundLink Mini over long distances.

The column is removed and inserted with effort, obviously adjusted to a millimeter.

I have used many gadgets, but the Bose SoundLink Mini speaker speaker has always been among the leaders. Therefore, I am delighted to have had the opportunity to familiarize myself with its successor, the new Bose SoundLink Mini II portable speaker.

Bose SoundLink Mini II - Reviews

I have been using the first mobile speaker for two years now and it has accompanied me everywhere. I use it at home, on trips and on weekends. I'm not exaggerating if I say that the equipment has become very close to me.

    SoundLink Mini II appearance

At first glance, the Bose SoundLink Mini II is no different from its predecessor. We are dealing with the same anodized aluminum case. Its dimensions are 5.10 x 18 x 5.8 cm and the speaker weighs only 670 grams. The compact size and light weight allows the speaker to be used absolutely everywhere. This is completely mobile equipment.

The body consists of a single, slightly rounded piece of metal at the corners that surrounds the devices. With the help of a thin rubber gasket - the mesh was attached to the column, which prevents anything from getting inside. Its cells are small, but sand can easily pass through them. Hardly I learned about this during my stay on the sea coast.

In order not to scratch the coating and for stability, the speaker was made on very large rubber feet. The Bose SoundLink Mini 2 has good adhesion, so the speaker does not move despite its very powerful bass. This is very important, especially during long listening sessions.

I know many speakers that, after a few hours of continuous play, simply fall off a table or tabletop. The Bose SoundLink Mini bluetooth speaker II, even if played very loudly, will stand like a rock and won't budge. This is one of those details that determine the quality of the equipment.

    Bose SoundLink Mini II sound

However, the Bose SoundLink Mini 2 owes its stabilization to more than just the rubber feet. It is worth noting that the masking grid is located on both sides of the column. This unusual design move was due to the fact that the speaker plays in two opposite directions. The membranes vibrate simultaneously in two directions, so that the speaker does not move in any situation. It is not only very simple but also extremely effective solution.

Although I am not a music lover, I will try to rate the sound quality. This is very close or the same as the previous generation speaker. The sound is very loud and clear. For such small device The SoundLink Mini II delivers very good bass, but there are no problems with higher sounds either. The vocals are a little less audible, but for a portable speaker this is already great.

The sound, the speaker is exceptionally warm, but not exceptionally soft. The speaker has established herself in almost all genres of music, but I think that the maximum of her abilities is demonstrated in rock music.

The high class of the Bose SoundLink Mini 2 is confirmed by the fact that the speaker was able to provide music, not only for intimate meetings, but also for gatherings around the fire or barbecue. I was not mistaken, this speaker will quietly support a big house party.

What's changed in the Bose SoundLink Mini II

The truth is that all of the above, you can also write about the first Bose SoundLink Mini bluetooth speaker. It is worth noting exactly what has changed in relation to its predecessor. First, the battery life has increased from seven to ten hours. As a result, the speaker can play all day.

Other changes can be seen after a quick glance at the buttons on the device. The first generation of speaker-speakers had six buttons covered with soft rubber, now there are only five. These are, respectively, the on / off switch, the volume down button, the multifunction button and the volume up button, as well as the button responsible for communication.

Using the multifunction button you can, among other things, stop the music, resume it, receive, reject a call and a limit switch in between. The first and last version of the speaker has LEDs that inform the user about the charge level of the device and what type of communication is used.

The Bose SoundLink Mini 2 portable speaker also has a lot of commands that have been polished. If we add to this the fact that the new speaker can be connected to several, up to eight devices at the same time, it turns out that this is a very convenient solution. Moreover, in order to start playing music from another device quickly and easily. Just stop playing music on the first device and start on the second.

The last and in my opinion most important change is that the Bose SoundLink Mini II wireless speakers can be charged via the micro-USB port. The previous model also had this port, but it did not support the charging function, so a special connector and charger had to be used.

    Bose SoundLink Apps

The Bose SoundLink Mini speaker was a great product that came with several drawbacks such as the inability to charge it using the USB port and the lack of a built-in speakerphone. The American company decided to release a hit by gently updating the product two years ago and making it perfect. Not only did it get rid of the annoying flaws, but it also added new features and functionality that make it a pleasure to use. this device.

    Outcome

If you are looking for a portable speaker High Quality and willing to spend up to $ 200 on it, you just have to go to the store and buy a Bose SoundLink Mini II. It's hard to find such a stylish, bright and well-made speaker on the market. This is where you really pay for quality.

However, are the changes big enough to replace the previous SoundLink? Definitely not. The old speaker bravely stands the test of time, and I'm not going to change it.
