I poured the first batch into one wicket. In the second, I got badly in the opening, sacrificed an exchange for dubious chances of an attack, then another tactical trick was found. The computer suddenly "floated". I won the game.

I concluded that the program is geared towards obtaining a material advantage. A couple of times I “grabbed” dubious pawns and exchange.

In general, the verdict is as follows - at the medium level, the engine plays in the strength of a candidate, and maybe a master.

Hard level

At first I thought there was no point in even trying. If so on medium barely carried his feet, then on hard and there is nothing to catch.

However, to my surprise, Shredder plays at about the same level on hard as on medium. However, for a more accurate assessment, it would be necessary to play a dozen games. Try it yourself.

The interface is the same, one to one. Much to my amazement, at the medium level, I put out the shredder "under the walnut" ... Ditto for easy.

The strange thing turns out: Does Schroeder play different strengths on different sites? Or maybe my strength of the game changes with the speed of the car?

In short, the levels of the game were incomprehensible. The answers were found when I downloaded the program to my computer.

But this is not the main thing. Too primitive interface and few options ... And I decided to look for where you can download Shredder to your computer.

First I asked 1800 (I have about 2300)... Played a game. Plays approximately at the level of this rating. Perhaps even a little stronger than real players with such a rating. It seemed so.

As I said, the impression was that the Shredder at the middle level plays in some kind of ragged rhythm - a series of strong moves, then weak. Plus can view tactics, which is rather strange for a computer program.

However, I suppose it is better for you to try it yourself, my opinion may turn out to be too subjective, and maybe even erroneous.
