The Lenovo K920 Vibe Z2 Pro has a 6-inch Quad HD display. In terms of its size, it belongs to the category of "phablets". The manufacturer tried to compensate for the dimensions with a thin case and narrow frames, beveled side edges, but with such a diagonal it's hard to "cheat" - it seems huge. The dimensions of the smartphone are 156 × 81 × 7.7 mm. By the way, only the elongated iPhone 6 Plus is longer than the new products of the year we tested. The smartphone is quite heavy - 184 grams, the same weight as Huawei Mate 8. Phone Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is not designed for one-handed use, even just holding it in your hand is not so comfortable. Note the location of the buttons, for example, the volume rocker is very high, it will be difficult for you to adjust the volume with one hand. during games, holding it with both hands, from time to time we pressed touch buttons that interfered with the gameplay.

Have Lenovo smartphone K920 Vibe Z2 Pro Slim metal textured body with slim side bezels. On the back, you can see an oblong plastic strip-insert, which is held by screws. There is also a plastic insert at the bottom, screwed on with screws. These plastic inserts (a feature of all-metal housings) are required for the antennas. In our opinion, they look awkward, especially with these cogs, however, this is only an amateur case. However, note that in the iPhone 6 they were "hidden" behind a pattern of lines. In the same case, they simply stuck in a rectangular black strip of plastic, which contrasts in color with the brushed textured metal of the back. Separately, it should be said about the camera lens: it bulges outward significantly - you have to be careful. It is protected by a red frame, into which the lens surface is slightly recessed.

The build quality is generally high, befitting a metal flagship model.

Screen - 4.4

One of the strengths of the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro is, of course, the six-inch display. Display resolution - 2560 × 1440 pixels, matrix type - IPS, there is an oleophobic coating and protection in the form of Gorilla Glass 3. The density of pixels per inch with such a "crazy" resolution is 490 items per inch. The only clearer displays we tested were the LG G3 and Samsung Galaxy Note 4, however, only because the diagonals of these devices are slightly smaller.

You can argue for a long time whether you need such a huge resolution or is it an overkill, but Lenovo put a very successful demo video in 4K resolution on the smartphone, which looks amazing, the image detail is incredible - every little detail is clearly visible! The Vibe Z 2 Pro has one of the best screens we've seen. Him high level maximum brightness (up to 566 cd / m2), but at the same time the minimum immediately 70 cd / m2, which will be too bright for reading in the dark. We also note the natural color rendering and good behavior in the sun, which allows you to use the device without any problems even on a sunny day. The viewing angles of the display are wide, the colors are not distorted at right angles and with deviations. Among the plus, we note an adequate auto brightness, and a smooth adjustment of the color balance.

Camera

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone has a 16 MP camera, which will allow you to shoot very clear pictures... The camera is equipped with dual LED flash, OIS and features such as autofocus, HDR mode, smile face detection, panorama shooting and more. If the camera in the past Lenovo Vibe Z seemed to us unfinished, then here it can be called excellent, comparable to one of the best cameras Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The only thing is that some of the frames turn out, in our opinion, a little darkish.

The maximum photo resolution is 3456 × 4608 pixels. The camera has the ability to shoot 4K video, as well as slow motion. Audio is recorded in stereo. The camera interface is simple and straightforward, it is especially convenient for working with one finger of your hand - you can hold down the button with your finger and turn the settings wheel in the desired direction.

The 5MP front camera of the phone is even more than necessary for video calls. You will be able to shoot high-quality selfies, Full HD video at 30 frames per second. By the way, one front-camera here it shoots better than the cameras of many 5 MP budget employees we tested.

Photos from the camera Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro - 4.9

Working with text - 3.0

It is not clear why, but Lenovo did not "draw" a proprietary keyboard for its flagship - in Lenovo phone The Vibe Z2 Pro uses a standard Google keyboard. It has a function of continuous text input, a separate button for switching languages. True, you won't find a separate key for a comma, there is also no markup of additional characters, but the top row of keys allows you to type numbers by pressing the key. Note that it would not be superfluous to have a function for convenient "one-handed" text input, like some competitors, but for such cases there is only a "micro-screen" mode, with a decrease in the image on the display. Also noteworthy is the "live keyboard", when the buttons on the keys are shifted towards the tilt of the smartphone.

Internet - 3.0

As a browser on the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone is preinstalled Google chrome with support for synchronizing tabs with the desktop version of the browser and Yandex Browser with Turbo mode for fast page loading, the ability to close tabs automatically when you exit the browser, etc. Both browsers do not support multiple page scaling and a separate reading mode, but you you can manually, by double-clicking on the page, scale the text once - in this case, the text will be scaled to the size you selected in advance.

Interfaces

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone has support for all popular wireless interfaces. Separately, we note the presence of dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with support for the A2DP profile for audio transmission, work in Russian LTE frequencies (Cat 4 up to 150 Mbit / s), A-GPS with the ability to work with GLONASS. Among other things, the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro has an NFC chip. In general, a complete flagship set. The phone is equipped with a Micro-USB connector, however, we found it inconvenient to stick the corresponding plugs into it - sometimes they hardly fit into the connector.

Micro-USB connector supports USB-OTG and MHL for connecting peripherals and transferring high definition video, respectively. In addition, the smartphone has two slots for Micro-SIM cards, but one radio module, which means that when talking on one of the SIM cards, you will be inaccessible when incoming call on the second.

Multimedia - 4.2

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro video player supports many common formats and codecs and plays videos in high quality, up to 4K video. However, in our tests, it was unable to run, for example, MOV and MKV video formats. There is no choice of subtitles and audio tracks in the built-in video player, as well as other functions. The audio player plays the popular MP3 and AAC formats, as well as WAV, FLAC (the latter will have to be launched through the file manager).

Battery - 3.8

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone is equipped with a large 4000 mAh battery! The Lenovo P780 we tested had the same capacity, and the Philips Xenium W6610 had 5300 mAh. We checked how quickly the device sits down in our tests. The phone played HD video at maximum brightness for about 8 hours and 45 minutes, and lasted 97 hours while listening to music! Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the latter is a winner, despite the less capacious battery - it lasted much longer in the video test, but blew out a little faster in the audio player mode. Nevertheless, charging your smartphone can be enough for a couple of days of fairly intensive use. It comes with Charger 1A, which fully charged the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro in just under two and a half hours.

Performance - 4.4

The device uses the Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 platform with a quad-core processor operating at 2.5 GHz, the graphics subsystem - Adreno 330, the amount of RAM - 3 GB. The filling is one of the most productive today and can cope with any load, from watching Full HD-video to "heavy" games. We have tested the operation of the chipset in everyday use... Thanks to the optimization of the shell and powerful hardware, Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro worked quickly, and this applies to both built-in applications and any third-party programs... The smartphone can be considered as a gaming one, in the tests the games NOVA 3 or Asphalt 8 loaded and ran easily. However, with active browsing, the phone sometimes slowed down a little and "freezes", which, of course, is not good for the flagship model.

Memory - 2.5

The amount of internal memory in the Lenovo Vibe Z 2 Pro is 32 GB, about 25.6 GB is available to the user. As in the previous Vibe Z, there is no memory card slot and this is a significant disadvantage of the phone.

Peculiarities

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone runs on Android 4.4.2 OS and Lenovo's proprietary shell. The company completely changed appearance Android, redrawn the dialer, browser, and replaced the launcher and status bar. At the same time, it is unusual that there is no separate menu with a list of all applications, and in order to unlock the display, you will need to pull the lock screen up, and not just move your finger. Also, the smartphone has separate "special" settings, where a lot of interesting things are hidden, for example, 3D gestures for control, a micro-screen for comfortable one-handed operation, and much more. Among the features, we note the metal body of the smartphone, which gives the device a premium look.

Vibe Z2. This creation of the Chinese manufacturer appeared on the mobile device market not so long ago. We'll talk more about the device itself a little later, and we'll start the article with a small introduction to the history of the flagship.

About Lenovo

We all remember very well that the Lenovo manufacturer bought out the Motorola Mobility company, after which he solemnly made a promise in which he mentioned his plans to divide the smartphone market. More specifically, the Chinese firm has decided, if you can call it that, to crush several segments for itself in order to ensure sustainable dominance over other companies. At the same time, as expected, Lenovo announced strong ambitions: it wanted to take no less than the third place in sales at least. Instead of (minimal!) Bronze, the Chinese company did not even intend to reckon with it. This option was de facto not even considered.

Despite such seemingly unreasonably ambitious performances, the firm has every chance to make its wish come true. Currently, there are official data that can tell us that Lenovo closes the top five in the smartphone market. Don't you think that this is really a result that is worth our attention? Nevertheless, we will assess the manufacturer's success soberly. Of course, the bulk of the devices sold are sold in China. On the same territory Russian Federation the most popular are devices included in the A-series. A shift in the situation was outlined when a series of flagships called the Vibe appeared on the horizon.

Parsing models

A stripped-down version of the flagship has already been released. Many call it Lenovo Vibe Z2 Mini, but the last word from the name is best removed, because that is how official sources and representatives of the Chinese company position it. There are probably practical reasons for this. In fact, just answer one question: can a phone with a 5.5-inch screen be dubbed the name Mini? It will look illogical at least. However given word still takes place in the device index. That is, it is called like this: K920 Mini. But it is much easier to exhibit the device simply under the name Vibe Z2, which is what we see.

The Lenovo Vibe Z2 Titanium gets its name from the use of exclusively metallic materials in its construction. Before us is a device that has a thickness of only 7.8 millimeters, is equipped with a sufficiently powerful and high-quality camera (built-in optical stabilization function). Otherwise, it should be noted support for two SIM cards, the presence and operation of a 64-bit processor from the Qualcomm family, powerful battery, the capacity of which is 3,000 mAh. The cost of the device is 20 thousand rubles. But the price is justified as prices for all mobile devices are currently increasing. In the meantime, we move on to a more detailed analysis.

Connection

The subject of our today's review is equipped with a large number of very different modules, and now we will talk about them in more detail. So, the phone works in the GSM, UMTS and LTE bands. The latter actually means open access to cellular networks fourth generation. Well, in principle, for a device of the corresponding price segment, this is rather the rule than the exception. 4G networks will allow the owner of the phone to exchange data and Internet traffic at an increased speed. Now you can download and upload pictures, music, videos and movies faster. Do not forget that the interaction with the browser and web pages in it will also be faster.

International network

By the way, about the Internet. Access to it is provided through 3G and 4G standards. Options with GPRS and EDGE are possible. But, of course, the first two are preferable. A built-in modem is provided. If necessary, you can create a Wi-Fi hotspot. Other users who have wireless modules in their devices will be able to connect to it. These can be smartphones on different operating systems, tablet computers and laptops. It will also be possible to connect to the access point from the computer, but only if it is installed there. LAN card with Wi-Fi module.

Bluetooth technology allows you to exchange files with other devices. Here her module is equipped according to version 4.0. Wi-Fi works in the b, g and n bands. If you are actively using email to exchange messages with other users, you will probably use the built-in E-mail client. It will be possible to synchronize a smartphone with a computer or laptop via a MicroUSB - USB 2.0 cable.

Display

The diagonal of the screen in "Lenovo Vibe Z2" is 5.5 inches. The display matrix is made using IPS technology. This means that the user will not need to think especially about whether his vision deteriorates. IPS technology reduces eye strain, allowing long reading times e-books from the device screen even in night mode with minimally activated backlighting. Our screen resolution is 1280 by 720 pixels. Thus, the picture is displayed in HD quality on the display. Up to 16 million colors are transmitted. The color rendition is generally good; the fonts and the picture do not fade in the sun. There is a good margin of brightness. Touch type. There is a multi-touch function. It handles multiple simultaneous touches. To further protect the screen, can be purchased in the salon cellular case for Lenovo Vibe Z2.

Cameras

The resolution of the main camera of the device is 13 megapixels. The device takes very good pictures, and the user has the ability to change the settings as they see fit. Pictures are obtained in a resolution of 4128 by 3096 pixels. As mentioned earlier, the device is equipped with an optical image stabilization function. The case for Lenovo Vibe Z2 allows you to protect the device from mechanical damage, but does not block the flash located on the side of the main camera lens. LED flash with good power. Video filming is carried out in a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The frame rate is 30 frames per second. Additional camera located on the front of the phone, its resolution is 8 megapixels. Selfie lovers will definitely appreciate it.

Chipset

The hardware part is represented by a Qualcomm processor family. This is a model named MSM8916. As part of the chipset, four cores work at once, which, meanwhile, ensure the smooth operation of the operating system. Their maximum clock frequency is about 1.2 GHz.

Memory

The amount of RAM is 2 gigabytes. Let's not forget that part of it is taken by jealous and greedy to the utmost operating system of the "Android" family. For storing user data, 32 gigabytes of non-volatile memory are available. In principle, this is not so little. The volume can be filled with any files, be it e-books, games or applications, cache programs, music, videos or movies. It doesn't matter, in general.

Conclusion and feedback

What can the owners of this model tell about its pros and cons? According to customer reviews of the device, it has the following advantages:

  • good main camera with optical stabilization;
  • excellent front camera with 8 megapixels;
  • exceptionally thin metal body;
  • work with two SIM cards;
  • large amount of long-term memory;
  • powerful battery.

At the same time, the owners of the device talk about the presence of some minor and major shortcomings. For example, many users noted that the resolution with such a diagonal could have been made larger. Otherwise, the owners of the phone highlight the following disadvantages:

: angular body, high-quality metal, emphasis on the camera in the design of the back panel. And of course, high performance and a decent display. But there is a small caveat: the display of the Vibe Z2 has received HD-resolution, and its processor is positioned as a mid-range solution. In real life, though, the model makes a more pleasant experience than the typical $ 400 average.

What's this?

Lenovo's dualsim smartphone from the flagship Vibe Z line in a metal case with a high-capacity battery (3000 mAh), high performance, a 13-megapixel camera and a high-quality 5.5-inch IPS-display, albeit with an unimpressive resolution of 720x1280 pixels ( 267 ppi).

And what else is it interesting?

With its 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, Qualcomm's first processor with this architecture.

And how is it with the performance, with the work of applications?

Partly due to the power of the processor, partly due to the low screen resolution and the generous 2GB of RAM for it Lenovo memory Vibe Z2 easily coped with any tasks that I hung on it without delays, freezes and even more glitches. The duty list of games - Temple Run 2, Real Racing 3, Dead Trigger 2, Asphalt 8 - overpowered effortlessly (sorry for the tautology). A couple of dozen installed applications swallowed as if he had unlimited productivity resources. Although Lenovo sins by installing mountains of unnecessary software into its smartphones (games, Yandex services, applications of dubious utility), and after removing these applications, a lot of resources are freed up, all the same, neither out of the box, nor after installing the beds of their favorite software, the user does not will receive a brooding metal bar instead of a nimble gadget. The model had no problems with the smoothness of the interface. Smartphone software (the gadget works out of the box on Android 4.4.4, the proprietary Lenovo launcher is used on top of the OS) is perfectly adapted for new processor... The only thing that the model lacks to become a full-fledged new flagship is the screen resolution. But even FullHD would reduce its performance.

I also had no problems installing and launching applications.

How long does he work?

Usually, when I take a smartphone for review, I turn off all the functions related to power saving in it - and the corresponding modes, and any restrictions. I usually don't use Bluetooth, mobile Internet - from time to time, but for tracking physical activity I turn on GPS and maximum accuracy in determining the location, I often turn the screen brightness to maximum manually (not all manufacturers can boast of the correct operation of the auto-backlight in the sun in their gadgets. I usually take little pictures, listen to music for several hours a day, play mostly undemanding games for an hour or two, spend a couple of hours chatting in instant messengers and reading the Internet. , 5-inch display and a 3000 mAh battery is not a record, but not a weak indicator.The flagship Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and its two predecessors would have worked in such conditions a little longer, but I practically did not let go me, their batteries lasted for a working day, maximum one and a half. But there were devices that held a charge weaker. If you turn on in the smartphone settings power saving mode and use it with the same intensity, you get two days of battery life.

What about the screen?

The Lenovo Vibe Z2's display deserves both compliments and criticism. Its strong points are high brightness, comfortable for viewing the screen on a sunny day (425.67 cd / m2), responsiveness, high-quality oleophobic coating, the ability to change the color temperature in the settings. The weak ones are not outstanding (although not bad, to be honest) calibration, low brightness in bright sun with automatic backlight adjustment enabled (auto adjustment does not shine, you have to turn it off and turn the brightness to maximum), lack of support for working with gloves, low resolution. Although it is possible to argue and argue about the resolution. In fact, HD is enough for such a diagonal (after all, it turns out 267 ppi), but since other smartphones of inexpensive brands already have FullHD for the same money, at this point you can safely complain that HD is now officially not enough for us.

He looks good?

If you liked the design of the Lenovo K900, then the design of this model will also be to your liking. I'm not a huge fan of metallic sheen and clean lines, the Lenovo Vibe X2 is more my type. But I admit that the smartphone looks nice and noble, and not cheap at all. The rear of the Vibe Z2 is covered with an all-metal plate, which also protects the long ends. And the short ones are covered with black plastic, it hides connectors and communication modules.

It fits well in the hand, but back cover a little slippery.

The camera sticks out a little, which, however, does not affect anything.

However, if you read our Lenovo review Vibe Z2 Pro, you will not find anything new in this model. The design is the same, the dimensions are slightly smaller. Impressions from the case are similar.

What's new in the interface?

For everything you need to know about the Lenovo smartphone interface, you can glean from our round-ups of the same generation's previous models:

Does he shoot well?

Lenovo Vibe Z2 is equipped with a 13-megapixel camera with FullHD video recording, flash, autofocus and optical stabilization. Lenovo Vibe Z2 can also be classified as a device for selfies - it got a front-facing 8-megapixel camera. She shoots great in low light, albeit slowly. Under the light of a table lamp, you can comfortably talk with video calls and make decent selfies. But I have complaints about the main camera. It shoots at an average level, inferior to flagship smartphones in quality, but still allows you to take normal photos in normal lighting. But the problem is that by the standards of the present time she is filming indecently slowly. Because of this, the images are often blurry - either the hand trembles, or the passer-by turns up inappropriately. In general, see for yourself (and now - in the original resolution).

What are the alternatives?

If you are sympathetic to the Lenovo brand, you can also check out the Vibe X2. The smartphone has a chic body design, a better display (with FullHD-resolution and support for gloves). But it works a little less stable than the Z2, so it's more suitable for beautiful fifa than picky geeks. Like the Z2, the X2 lacks support for memory cards and only sports a built-in 32GB drive. Both smartphones are in the price range up to 8000 hryvnia ($ 400).

With the current leapfrog with the exchange rate of the domestic currency, the price plays against the novelty rather than for it. Because for an additional one thousand and a half hryvnia today you can already buy last year's flagships: and those will have a more serious camera, a better screen, and even most likely with the support of gloves, and a Snapdragon 800 series processor, the most powerful. So, for 9000 hryvnia, LG G3 and HTC One (M8) are sold on the Internet. Okay HTC, it has a half-inch screen diagonal and the camera does not shine. But the LG G3 is a very tempting candidate. Samsung fans will be able to afford the Galaxy Alpha for 9000 hryvnia, and the pragmatic HTC fans will be able to afford the hit of 2013, the HTC One. But if your limit is 7.5-8 thousand hryvnia and you have Lenovo among your favorite brands, you can safely take Vibe Z2, the smartphone is pleasant in life, even though the camera let it down.

In the dry residue

Lenovo Vibe Z2 is an interesting and pleasant smartphone with a smart interface, balanced "stuffing" and a noble body. It has one critical flaw - it is slow camera... For some users, the lack of a microSD slot can also become a stumbling block, although the built-in memory volume allows itself to be unlimited for a long time. If you prefer gadgets in a metal case, and in a smartphone you would rather appreciate a large diagonal and a smooth interface than a fast camera, then this model is for you. If photography is more valuable for you, and you have an extra 1-1.5 thousand hryvnia in your pocket, then it would be more correct to buy something from last year's flagships.

4 reasons to buy Lenovo Vibe Z2:

  • high performance and smooth interface;
  • high capacity battery;
  • metal case;
  • bright screen with pleasant color reproduction.

2 reasons not to buy Lenovo Vibe Z2:

  • the camera is slow, very slow;
  • no support for memory cards.

Slim phablet with stunning 5.5 ”Full HD IPS monitor

The Lenovo Vibe Z K910 IdeaPhone smartphone is a real flagship phablet. It has an almost tablet-like screen in both size and quality, while, thanks to the minimal frames and the thinnest body, it continues to remain extremely mobile gadget... 5.5 inches ultra-clear IPS Full HD Resolution(1920 x 1080 pixels) creates a picture so clean and smooth that it creates the effect of three-dimensionality of the display. Less than 8 mm thick and weighing 147 grams - a more compact “tablet” is hard to find. Oleophobic coating, protective glass Gorilla Glass 3, OGS technology without an air gap - the best achievements of "screen building" are fully applied here. Designers have worked hard on back panel... It is laser cut and has a very similar texture to fabric.

Snapdragon 800 - 4 fastest cores on the market

At the time of the start of sales, the Lenovo IdeaPhone K910 Vibe Z smartphone is equipped with the most powerful processor on the market. Namely - 4-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with a frequency of each core 2.26 GHz. Not all laptops can boast of this performance! The brain is 75% faster than the previous S4 Pro series, and just as economical! New heights were achieved thanks to the fully asynchronous operation of the cores. Each of them turns on only and exactly when the tasks require it. On the pick up 2 GB of RAM and an updated graphics core Adreno 330. There is no such mobile task that would not be solved by this "monster" in the blink of an eye.

Promise fast LTE support at maximum speeds up to 150 Mbps

The hero of the description is equipped with all modern communications, including the NFC module, dual navigation with GLONASS and, most importantly, work in 4G networks. True, there is a small nuance, support for Russian LTE frequencies is promised to "fly by air" in one of the next OTA firmware updates. At the time of the description, apparently, the company is tweaking software to ensure speed mobile internet at the level of dual-band Wi-Fi (up to 150 Mbps). It's probably not worth writing about the implementation of such platitudes as Bluetooth.

Android 4.3 with a full set of all the necessary programs to work out of the box

Lenovo IdeaPhone Vibe Z K910 runs the latest version of Android 4.3 OS with an updated interface, smart keyboard and user account separation. By the way, it is very convenient if you are not the only one using the phone. A special "thank you" you will most likely tell the manufacturer for the complete set of programs. Here, in addition to the already usual clients for all popular social. networks have an advanced notepad Evernote, office suite Kingsoft Office, Antivirus, Skype, cloud storage Lenovo Cloud and several games, including the mobile racing masterpiece Asphalt 7.

13 MP BSI camera with record-breaking light sensitivity F1.8 + 5 MP front

Lenovo K910 IdeaPhone Vibe Z is equipped with advanced cameras. At the heart of the rear is a 13 megapixel BSI-matrix with anti-reflective, especially sensitive optics, which gives an F1.8 aperture - a record value on the market. There is autofocus, LED flash and app Smart Camera... The latter not only provides high-speed shooting up to 99 frames in a row, but also in automatic mode enhances photographs by optimizing color, eliminating noise, and enhancing the quality of faces in portrait shots. The rear and front camera does not lag behind. Moreover, its matrix is again a record in the class - 5 megapixels. So it is also wide-angle, with a coverage of 84 degrees. Self-portraits are not only clear, but also comprehensive, including not only all your friends, but also part of the street in both directions!

A serious processor needs a serious battery. 3000 mAh

Naturally, the most powerful platform and a huge screen consume electricity "as if not in itself". Plus, the super-speed of fourth-generation networks also requires a lot of "provisions". And Android has never suffered from a lack of "appetite". Therefore, the engineers had to work hard to integrate the maximum "capacious" battery into such a thin case. And they succeeded. Lenovo K910 Vibe Z IdeaPhone got a 3000 mAh battery at its disposal. This is a solid figure for any mobile device, let alone a mobile phone. With a battery like this, you don't have to worry about running out of power. It is enough for a full day without any problems.
