LG K7 - Specifications. LG K7 X210DS review: A budget smartphone for selfies

Today we bring to your attention a review of LG k7 2017. What will please us with a fresh smartphone from a well-known company? Is it worth buying it for the price offered in the networks? let's deal with everything in order.

The phone comes in a minimalist white box with the model name on the front and black on the back. specifications LG k7 x230 2017. The kit includes:

  • Smartphone. The shipping film shows some of the features of the device: support for 4G, LTE, stylish design and shooting by hand gesture.
  • Instruction in Russian.
  • Warranty card.
  • Battery bag.
  • Top outlet power adapter.
  • MicroUSB cable for connecting to a computer and charging.

Headphones are not included. They will have to be purchased separately if they are needed.

Appearance

LG K7 looks very stylish thanks to the corrugated plastic on the back. Previously, such surfaces were made, for example, by Samsung in their mobile devices. Thanks to this solution, the phone practically does not slip in the hand.

A plastic glossy edging runs along the perimeter of the gadget, which greatly reduces the cost of appearance. On the left side is the volume control button. The right side was left completely empty by the decision of the engineers. On the top is a 3.5mm headphone jack and an optional microphone. Below is the microUSB port and the main microphone for calls.

On the front is a 5-inch display, earpiece, front camera and proximity and light sensors. At the bottom of the display is the company logo. The front part is covered with Gorilla Glass to protect it from light scratches.

Behind you can find:

  • main camera;
  • LED flash;
  • a button to turn the phone on and off (a very unusual solution);
  • Company `s logo;
  • hole for speaker.

The back cover of LZh k 7 is removable. Under it is a battery of only 2500 mAh, which is quite small now. But the plus in removable mode is that if necessary, you can change the battery yourself without going to the workshop. In addition, there are also two slots for NanoSim cards and a microSD card slot for expanding internal memory.

In general, the appearance of the smartphone turned out to be very pleasant and unusual.

Screen

The LG k7 x230 has a TFT display. The resolution is at the level of 854*480 pixels, which is quite small for the size of 5.5 inches. To the quality of the screen, besides this, there are, of course, more complaints. At some angles, the contrast drops, while at others there is a slight inversion. Then the screen from above "yellows". "Multi-touch" for only 5 touches.

There are large black bezels around the display, which already looks outdated, but also reduces the cost of the whole appearance. Even on inexpensive gadgets from Chinese manufacturers, there are no such frames, and here is LG.

Processor and operating system

The state employee from LG has a quad-core processor Mediatek MT 6737m, which operates at a frequency of 1.1 GHz. It interacts with the video accelerator - Mali T720. When buying, you can only count on 1 GB of RAM. Again, predatory enough. Built-in memory is only 8 GB. Of these, approximately 5 GB is available to the user. You can expand using MicroSD.

How well does this hardware perform in modern games? In Real Racing 3, the display in the rear-view mirrors is present. This indicates that the graphics here are at least at an average level. The rendering of the surrounding world is not very detailed.

In D-Trigger-2, the device works normally at an average graphics level, which is already good. On most mid-range and low-end Android devices, this game runs at the minimum. Graphics are also at a good level. Smoothness in the process is not bad. At medium settings, GTA San Andreas, as well as most other "heavy" games, will work on the device.

Games slow down a little, they don’t go as we would like. There is a slight "subsidence" of fps, but, in general, you can play at low-medium settings.

The pre-installed operating system is Android 6.0, with which there will be no particular problems. The work is smooth, the applications are responsive.

If we talk about autonomy, then there are no surprises. LG k7 "holds" the battery in the same way as most modern devices - no more and no less. That is, the owner can count on the work of a state employee from morning to evening and put it on “charging” at night, unless, of course, you loaded him with games or watching videos on the network.

Camera

And finally, let's go through the cameras. There are usually two of them here: the main camera is 8 megapixels and the front one is 5 megapixels. You can get decent shots in the daytime, but nothing much more. This smartphone cannot boast of super-quality pictures. At dusk or at night, everything turns into a noise mess. Cameras are no worse and no better than most competitors in their price segment.

An example of a snapshot on the main camera can be seen below.

conclusions

The cost of LG k7 x230 (2017) now fluctuates around 7,000 rubles. Quite a big price for such a very budgetary characteristics in the form of 1 GB of RAM and a very average processor. You can look for more delicious options from Chinese competitors.

But if you want to get a solid inexpensive phone from a well-known brand with a stylish appearance without much desire to play mobile games, then the LG k7 is worth a closer look.

Video

For quite a long time, LG has been releasing similar smartphones one after another, both in terms of characteristics, there and in appearance. Names change, and some specifications. The hero of today's review does not differ in anything fundamentally new from his "brothers". LG K7 X210DS is positioned by the manufacturer as a selfie phone. It has an alternative name - LG K7 3G. This indicates that there are other versions of this device that differ in some characteristics and the presence of 4G.

The smartphone went on sale in 2016. Large, well-known retailers sell it at a price of 136 USD. The price is current at the time of writing this review. What LG offers us for this money, see the review.

Absolutely all the technical characteristics of this smartphone indicate that we have an entry-level budget employee.

Design

The smartphone comes in black, white and gold colors. The side frames are painted like metal, although in fact plastic is used as the body material. The back cover has a rough surface, so that the smartphone does not strive to slip out of your hands. There are no buttons on the side edges: the volume rocker and the power button are placed on the back panel. The back and home buttons are missing from the front panel. They are programmatically transferred to the display. The body has a collapsible design. Case dimensions: 72.5 x 143.6 x 9.05 mm, weight - 158 g.

CPU

The system-on-a-chip MediaTek MT6580M is responsible for the performance of the smartphone. The chip consists of 4 Cortex-A7 cores, which can operate at a maximum frequency of 1.3 GHz. Mali-400MP2 is used as a graphics chip. In the synthetic performance test, the LG K7 scores about 23,000 points. This is a typical result for budget smartphones.

In operation, the device demonstrates good performance. The power of the installed iron is enough to ensure the fast operation of the interface and running applications. For navigation, browser and other performance is enough. Moreover, the smartphone handles 3D games without any problems. Naturally, the most demanding games on hardware will work fine only with reduced graphic settings.

Memory

The amount of RAM is 1 GB. The necessary minimum for comfortable work with the device, and a common indicator for most budget smartphones. The built-in memory is only 8 GB, of which about 4 are available to the user, the rest goes to system needs. Under the cover is a slot in which you can put a memory card up to 32 GB.

Offline work

The battery capacity is 2125 mAh. More than a day of moderately active operation of the device should not be expected. This is quite the expected result for such a battery. The power supply is removable, so in case of emergency it can be easily replaced. The standard complete charger has a current of 2A.

Camera

The main camera is an 8MP CMOS sensor. There is a flash, autofocus. The camera application is standard for Android, that is, LG did not traditionally change the interface. The camera can record videos with a maximum resolution of Full HD (1920 x 1080), the frame rate is 30 FPS. You can shoot with one touch with manual focus.

The quality of the resulting photographs is acceptable if the shooting is carried out during the day, in good lighting. With a lack of lighting, noise will be clearly visible in the photographs at night and indoors.

The front camera can take photos with a resolution of 5 megapixels. Since the smartphone is biased towards taking selfies, the front camera has received advanced features. The first possibility is gesture shooting. Turning on the front camera, it is enough to make a gesture with the palm of your hand (clench and unclench your fist). A three-second countdown will begin, during which the user must prepare for automatic shooting (stand in the right position, make the necessary facial expression). But that's in theory. In practice, this function does not always work.

An equally interesting feature is the “virtual flash”. When activated, most of the screen turns white, and the backlight increases to the maximum level. This makes it possible to take a picture of yourself even in complete darkness. Naturally, such a solution will not replace a real flash, but it's better than nothing.

Display

The smartphone has a 5-inch display with a resolution of FWVGA (854 x 480), with a pixel density per inch of 196 PPI. For a 5” screen, this is a rather modest figure. But the load on the graphics chip is reduced. Matrix type - TFT, using On-Cell Touch technology, which in theory should have a positive effect on image properties. The viewing angles of the screen in this model are not maximum. But not the worst. That is, with a slight tilt, the image remains visible, the colors are not inverted. This is enough to work. The touch takes 2 touches at the same time.

The protective glass is called Ark Glass. Its edges are slightly rounded in 2.5D technology. There is little practical use, but it feels nice to the touch and looks good. There is an oleophobic layer on the glass.

Network communications

The smartphone has two nano-SIM slots. Smartphone LG K7 X210DS can work in 2G and 3G networks. A separate version of this device is designed to work in fourth-generation networks. There is a GPS module with A-GPS support. Wireless data transfer interfaces are represented only by single-band Wi-Fi with support for Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth version 4.1.

Sound

The main speaker is located on the back of the case. There are no complaints about the sound quality, no squeaks were noticed when playing the melody. The volume is not the most outstanding, but for watching movies, an alarm clock and a ringing melody is enough. Conversational speaker raises no objections.

Software

The preinstalled version of the operating system is Android 5.1 Lollipop. LG K7 differs in that it does not have a proprietary shell from LG. That is, the user gets a smartphone with a "clean" version of Android. Perhaps someone will like this solution. But, on the other hand, the interface becomes boring, uninteresting.

Additional features

The features of the smartphone include the so-called “virtual flash” of the front camera.

Pros and cons of LG K7 X210DS

Pros:

  • nice design and comfortable body shape;
  • a pretty good front camera compared to other budget devices.

Minuses:

  • low screen resolution;
  • inadequate price.

Our review of the LG K7 X210DS

Before us is another entry-level dual-sim smartphone. Nothing bad can be said about it, especially since LG makes high-quality, reliable smartphones. However, in terms of features and capabilities LG K7 X210DS corresponds to Chinese devices that are in the $70 price range. The payoff is quite significant. However, the LG K7 will suit those people who don't want to mess with Chinese devices and would like to get a relatively inexpensive smartphone for making calls, surfing the Internet, watching videos, and, of course, taking selfies.

    five-inch display with bright color reproduction, 8MP camera and 5MP front camera. Battery 2500 mAh, design, triple slot, 4G, convenient location of the power button, interface. In general, it is a pleasure to use.

    For the first six months, it worked fine, but then it began to freeze constantly, at the moment a year and a half has passed since the purchase, the battery is weak, if there is 50-40% charge in the evening, then in the morning it will already be turned off, if it is enough to use it for half a day ... I do not recommend this phone, it is better to save up and buy a normal phone!

    It was bought based on reviews, because at first it was clean, without any applications from Google. I didn't like it anymore. The smartphone was crammed with applications from Google, most of which are not needed. , but at the same time they take up a lot of space in memory. The battery was very disappointing, it can easily be discharged during the day, and this is only with 10 minutes of conversation and 1 hour of using the navigator card. The button on the screen is located at the back, you can turn it on by double-clicking on the screen - but this feature sometimes dulls. In general, the touch is so-so. 6. To end a call, it does not always turn on by itself, that is, the light sensor does not work very well. You have to "light up the screen" with the power button. 7. I did not find how to create my own sound profiles; 8. I did not find how to install a separate melody for each sim. (maybe because I have one SIM card in it); 9. Memory. Applications cannot be transferred to it. And even if you install an application for recording calls, you will have to

    It is not possible to create groups in the contacts of the notebook, there is no notepad, there is no “silent” selection function, there is no “notepad”, there is no way to put a ringtone on the call, pressing buttons, etc., the crane responds to pressing the brake. I have a third ski. The other two are ok. This phone should cost 1500 rubles with such features. Just a dialer
