How to clean a laptop with ccleaner. What is CCleaner for what and how to use it

Hello, in today's article you will find out how to use ccleaner and what is this program? In one of the previous lessons, I created a new rubric called “ Useful programs", Which will publish various utilities, programs designed primarily to optimize the operating system.

In this lesson, I would like to tell you about the CCleaner program. CCleaner software is free and distributed for free download.

This program is designed to clean hard disk from temporary files, as well as the CCleaner program allows you to clean the system registry from old entries. After cleaning CCleaner improves the load on the computer, many programs by freeing up space on the hard drive and fixing errors in the system. In general, we can say that the work of the entire computer is accelerating.

So let's start in order. To begin with, I suggest you download the CCleaner program, to do this, follow the link and download the program from the CCleaner official website http://ccleaner.org.ua/

How do I use CCleaner?

After you have downloaded this program, proceed to install it. In principle, the installation is carried out in a standard way, I think, you will not have any problems in installation. Run setup file, select the language for installing the program and click "OK". In the next installation window, you will need to click "Next". To enlarge the pictures, just click on them with the mouse.

Then a dialog box with a license agreement will open, click "Accept" and the program will start installing. At the end of the installation, a window will open in which you will need to uncheck the "Program Information" box and click "Finish". Then the CCleaner program will start. So, we have installed the program, and now let's find out how to use ccleaner.

Before proceeding with cleaning, let's take a look at the program interface. The main window at the top displays information about operating system, and on the left there are four tabs: cleaning (serves to clean file system), registry (designed to clean up the system registry), service (allows you to carry out various operations), setting (general settings tab).

Next, let's look at the settings of the CCleaner program. To do this, click on the "Settings" tab and in the window that opens, select the "Settings" section. Check the boxes as shown in the picture. If you wish, you can uncheck the check box automatic update... I recommend noting the rest of the points.

The next settings tab is cookies. In this window, you can configure the "cookies", that is, you can specify which "cookies" should be deleted and which should be left. I recommend that you delete all cookies for security purposes. Items "Include" and "Exclude" serve to specify certain files or folders in which temporary files will either be protected from deletion by CCleaner, or will be permanently deleted.

Finally, the final Advanced tab includes advanced control settings for CCleaner. Below is a picture showing the settings I set. You can specify similar settings.

How to use ccleaner to uninstall programs?

To start cleaning the system, click "Cleanup" and in the window that opens, click "Analysis".

The operating system will start scanning the disk space for temporary files. After that, the system will be scanned, the window will display a list of temporary files that will need to be deleted by clicking on the "Cleanup" tab.

After a short time, temporary and unused files on the computer will be deleted.

To clean up the system registry, just go to the "Registry" tab and in the window that opens, click on the "Search for problems" tab. After that, the system will begin to search for problems that arose during the operation of the computer. After the search is finished, a list of problems will be presented in a dialog box. Then click "Fix" and the computer will start fixing errors.

Before fixing, you will need to click fix "marked". In general, there is nothing complicated how to use the ccleaner program.

In the CCleaner service tab, you can perform operations with installed programs (delete, rename, etc.). This tab includes the following types of settings:

1. Removing programs - here you can view the list installed programs, applications on your computer. And also, if necessary, it will be possible to remove programs without using the panel Windows management... In order to uninstall a program, select it with the mouse pointer and click "Uninstall". Next, a dialog box for uninstalling this program will open, you will need to confirm the actions to remove the program. If the program does not contain uninstallation or it is not deleted, then in this case, to uninstall the program, click Remove.

In general, I recommend that you first uninstall programs using the "Uninstall" button, and use the "Uninstall" button in cases where the program is not uninstalled in the first way. As for the "Rename" button, it means renaming programs, although I myself have not used this function, I cannot say for sure in what cases renaming programs are used.

2. Startup - allows you to disable components, various programs that are loaded with the operating system. That, in turn, ensures the speed of the computer at startup, I wrote in more detail about the "startup" section in this lesson (you can read about how you can further increase the speed of your computer).

3. System Restore - in the previous CCleaner versions this section did not exist. He appeared in the last updated version... Using this section, you can manage all system restore points. If you do not know how to create a system restore checkpoint, then I recommend that you read.

4. Erasing disks - this section also appeared in one of the latest updates programs. With the help of this section, you can check the boxes of the hard disk and delete all files, that is, similar to the formatting procedure. But keep in mind that when you erase the hard drive partitions, all files and documents will be deleted. Therefore, be careful before erasing the hard drive partition. Copy important documents for yourself to another in advance partition hard disk.

This concludes this article on how to use ccleaner.
I told you the main points of managing the interface, I think you should not have any difficulties with the CCleaner program. If you have any questions, then ask them in the comments. See you in the next lesson!

On the site, I have already casually mentioned a program called CCleaner several times. She is free tool for cleaning and optimizing Windows operating systems from Microsoft. I am often asked how to use it correctly? Today I will answer this question in detail.

First of all, you need to download the utility. It is distributed free of charge. There is also paid version, which is endowed with several additional functions. In my opinion, the average user is quite enough free version... So, go to the official website, download the utility and install it on your computer.

First start. A window like this will open in front of you:

We don't touch anything. If it suddenly happens that you have a different language than Russian, go to "Settings" (the lower button in the form of a gear in the left menu), select the subsection "Settings" and change it in the "Language" column into Russian.

Here, by the way, you can check the box "Automatically check for CCleaner updates" so that you always have a fresh version of the program.

I hope everything is clear with the settings. You better not touch anything else in this menu for now.

Now we select the item "Cleaning" in the left menu. A window has opened in front of you with various items and checkboxes put to them.

What are these points? For example, for a browser, these are: temporary files, visit logs, cookies, a list of entered addresses, the last download path, etc. Almost the same data will apply to other Internet browsers that are installed on your computer (select the application tab).

Operating with checkboxes, you must independently select those items that you need. For example, the visit log contains all the sites that you have visited recently. Accordingly, this section will be completely cleared in the Internet browser. Therefore, you need to place the checkmarks as carefully as possible. There is nothing complicated in this, just do not forget that many of the filled data from browsers, including passwords. It is better to save the information you need in advance.

After you place the checkboxes (this must be done in both tabs: Windows and "Applications"), click on the "Analysis" button. It is with its help that the program will find all the necessary data for cleaning. Be sure to close all browsers first. Here's what we got:

Next step. Click on the "Cleanup" button and wait until all files are deleted.

What else can CCleaner do? Clean up the registry. This is a very important feature. After you uninstall a program, so-called "tails" remain in the registry. They can be removed on their own, but an ordinary user is often not able to do this, since you need to climb into windows registry… It's easier to use the same CCleaner.

Click on the "Search for problems" button, after which the system will collect all data from the registry. You will be shown missing DLLs and applications, invalid file extensions, temporary MUI files, and so on. After selecting them, click the "Fix" button, CCleaner will do everything on its own. Before fixing, you can save the files as a backup. Whether you need to do this or not, decide for yourself, I usually do not save anything, although this can even lead to the collapse of the system.

The "Tools" menu will allow you to remove programs installed on your computer, enable or disable programs in startup, find duplicate files on hard drives, manage restore points and even wipe files on disks. Of course, this must be done very carefully.

What does all this give? Cleaning disks from unnecessary data. As practice shows, such actions allow you to stabilize the operation of your computer and programs. Only use CCleaner very carefully, as there is a great chance of screwing it up.

There will be questions about the program, ask them, I will try to answer.

The "Applications" component is responsible for the set of browsers installed on your PC (except Internet Explorer) and some programs that have history and do not clear the cache by default (for example, Skype). The amount of work performed in this part of the "Cleaning" mode depends on the installed programs on your PC. You can see what is marked with checkmarks, and add or, conversely, remove what is useful to you. For example, it is advisable to uncheck Skype if there is an important correspondence for you. After specifying the locations that are defined for scanning by the program, click on the "Analyze" button. The progress of the analysis and collection of information is displayed on the scale in the upper part of the program window. Across certain time a report will be displayed, which indicates the approximate amount of memory freed after deleting the found junk, and information about the files recommended for deletion.

If you have the desire and time, you can familiarize yourself in detail with each item of the displayed list. After that, or immediately click "Cleaning" (Run Cleaner), starting the process of removing the found unnecessary files. After completing this process, the following report will be issued - about successfully deleted files. The deletion is complete.

Eliminate registry threats

All positions in the list or some of them that you mark can be eliminated by clicking on the "Delete" button. For a possible system recovery, if something necessary is deleted by mistake, the program offers to save a backup copy before deleting it. It is recommended that you agree to this proposal and save a copy of the deleted registry entries at the suggested address or in a location that you define yourself. The removal of erroneous registry entries itself is very fast. The registry has been cleared.

How to use CCleaner

After starting the program, a window with the "Cleaning" section opens. Here, by default, the items for cleaning are already selected. You can add something at your discretion.

In the "Windows" tab, when configuring file cleaning Internet browser Explorer, pay attention to the item “ Cookies". If you have a lot of passwords, and you do not want to re-enter them all on sites after cleaning, then uncheck the box next to this item.

In the Applications tab, do the same for other browsers if you have multiple browsers installed on your computer.

The next section of the program is the "Register". Here you should click on the "Search for problems" button. After the analysis is completed by the program, you must click on the "Fix ..." button.

A window appears asking you, "Do you want to back up the changes you made?"

Many suggest clicking on the "No" button and continuing to work with the program. I suggest clicking on the "Yes" button.

The CCleaner program, although it is one of the most safe program of this type, but this is not a 100% guarantee.

When I was still a novice user, after cleaning the system with the program, I started having noticeable problems using the computer (the mouse reacted with slowdowns and the like).

If I had not saved a backup copy of the changes I made, then I would have to do before working condition... But I had a backup of the registry changes I made, and I solved this problem in a couple of mouse clicks.

After clicking on the "Yes" button, in the Explorer window that opens, the program offers a place to save backups in the "Documents" or "My Documents" folder in the operating room. Windows system XP (you can choose any other place).

I pre-create a folder there, which I named - "CCleaner Registry Files". The name of the registry file contains the date of its creation, and therefore it will be easy to find later.

After creating a new copy, old copies of the saved registry files can be deleted, although they do not take up much disk space. Next, you should click the "Save" button.

In a new window of the program, when you click on the "Fix" button, you will fix the problems one by one, looking at the files that the program is going to fix.

If you click the "Fix marked" button, the program will fix all the marked files by itself.

After that, click on the "OK" button. The registry is cleared by CCleaner. After the cleaning of your computer with CCleaner is completed, you will need to click on the "Close" button.

If after this fix you start having problems with your computer, then to resolve this issue, you need to open the folder with backups the changes made that were saved by the program before the changes were made to the registry.

To restore you need to click right click mouse on the desired copy (look at the date), and in context menu select the item "Merge".

In the window that appears, click on the "Yes" button. Everything, this problem is solved, the registry is restored to the previous state change. Such cases are very rare, but sometimes they do happen.

After clicking on the button in the "Service" section, the "Remove Programs" tab will open. With CCleaner, you can uninstall programs from your computer.

To do this, highlight the name of the program, and then click on the "Uninstall" button.

After confirming this action in a new window, the application will be uninstalled.

In this tab, you can also rename and delete entries about programs (the program is not uninstalled in this case), but it would be better not to do this.

If you click on the "Startup" section button, you can "Enable", "Disable" or "Remove" programs from startup if you do not want any specific programs to be loaded along with the operating system.

Programs removed from startup will start only when you want to start them.

In the "Context menu" item, you can disable or delete the context menu item of the corresponding program. It sometimes happens that after uninstalling a program, an entry for the program that has already been deleted from the computer remains in the context menu.

By going to the "System Restore" tab, you can delete the created control points recovery. Still, it would be better not to do this.

In the next tab "Erase Disks", you can securely wipe free space or erase all information on the selected drive for files. By default, the "Erase" option is set to "Free space only".

If you have selected in the "Erase" item, the option "Entire disk (all data will be lost)", then the selected disk will be completely erased.

In the "Method" item, you can choose the erasing option: "Simple overwrite 1 pass", or choose other more advanced overwriting options. After such erasure, it will be impossible to recover any files from free space or from the entire selected disk.

After clicking on the button of the "Settings" section, you can change the program settings as you wish. The program is already configured by default and there is little point in changing anything.

Conclusion

The free computer cleaner CCleaner serves not only to clean the registry and delete temporary and junk files, but also has many other useful features.
