Greek letter delta. What is delta?

Today we'll talk about one great feature that a fairly small number of PC users know about. This may be surprising, but I've already seen a lot of how for simple copying, which is performed using the Ctrl-C key combination, people get scared by highlighting the desired fragment (more often a word) with the mouse, then press right key and select the "copy" item. An alternative option is to copy using the button located on the toolbar.

This is a motorized paraglider. It carries a small motor in its back, which pushes, so that the parapente increases its support and allows it to climb. Do I need a pilot's license? No, but you must complete a paragliding course and a paramotor course. What if a “good idea” is to be combined for the practice of paragliding.

How do you inflate the glider? After laying on the ground, thanks to the direct impact, with the help of the propeller's own thrust, the paraglider is placed on top, and it remains only to accelerate the smoothness in order to rise smoothly. What is the maximum wind to fly? Removing without wind is a little more difficult, but quite possible.

How do you usually insert characters into text that are not explicitly on the keyboard? The program "Symbol table" is called ( Win + R → charmap → Enter), there is a long and persistent search for the desired symbol, which is added. There is, perhaps, only one drawback to such a solution - it takes too long to look for it. I do not argue, sometimes you come across really "unprintable characters", but usually this is not required.

Like all air sports, it comes with a fair amount of risk. But, being detached from the glider, it does not depend on the reliability of the engine, because if it stops, "nothing happens." The level of training and diligence in the pilot safety environment.

Just like a paraglider using the brakes. Added to this is throttle control to control the rate of ascent and descent. What gas is used? Super with 2% or 3% synthetic oil. Like any 2-stroke bike. What is the approximate consumption?

It depends on propeller size and engine type, but you might consider about 3 liters per hour. If you load 8 liters, it's easy to stay on the palate for up to 3 hours. What is the flight speed range? When accelerating, it increases more, but does not increase the horizontal speed.

For a set Alt code hold down the Alt key (surprised?) and on numeric keypad(the one on the right, behind the arrows) press the indicated numbers one by one, after the Alt key is released. Problems can arise with shortened keyboards, which are common in laptops. In this case, as a rule, you need to additionally hold down the blue Fn key.

What is the maximum height that can be reached? Anyway, the interesting thing is to fly at a low altitude, because it is less cold, the landscape is better and the view of the world is more fun. The higher you go, the more you turn off and mix details and colors. The feeling of movement and speed disappears. Can I take double flights?

Of course, although it requires a more powerful engine and good coordination helps to take off. What happens if the engine stops? Since the paramotor becomes a normal paraglider, so by always making sure that some landing is “available” when scheduling an engine shutdown, there is no problem in which it stalls involuntarily.

In the table below I tried to collect the most necessary symbols, supplemented by potentially useful ones. Besides Alt codes, there are also HTML mnemonics.

Menimonics is a construction that encodes special characters in a certain way. Looks like: & designation; - ampersand + symbol + semicolon.

There are contraindications for the arbitrary use of special signs from the table. It doesn't matter if the character is printed "as is" or by means of mnemonics, it can only be displayed if it is represented in the font used. Otherwise, you will see a rectangle, a question mark, and something else indicating no image for the specified symbol. Now this problem successfully solved thanks to pluggable fonts. But the authors of the texts need to keep in mind that a "Word" document typed in Calibri font will not always be fully displayed by a customer who uses a different operating system with its own set of preinstalled fonts. Safe can be considered "the most useful symbols”, But with fractions there may be problems.

How long does a paramotor last? The motors used are for agricultural use, so they are designed to withstand hundreds of hours with little maintenance. In fact, you can enjoy a multi-year paramotor in excellent condition.

Who can fly with a paramotor? Almost everyone only needs to be able to run a few meters with 20 kg from behind. To this we must add a few kilograms of gasoline, emergency parachutes and a sandwich. Sometimes they cost about half. Is it possible to use a professional paramotor?

When texts are replete with such "non-printable" characters, it is better to install a specialized editor that allows you to "program" the desired action for a certain key combination.

Given its simplicity and low cost, it is often used in advertising, photography, exhibitions and some military purposes. There is a world championship, European and national competitions and championships. The tests mainly consist of navigation, agility or maneuverability, landing accuracy and consumption.

What is the effect of "torque"? The propeller creates lift as it spins, but also creates drag. The motor and propeller cause the paramotor to try to rotate around the propeller. As the paramotor accelerates, it tends to turn to the right. The direction of rotation depends on the position of the motor and the direction of rotation, but using the motor in an inverted position, the right side of the belt is loaded lower and lower, resulting in a slight rotation to the right. The amount of this effect depends on the propeller size, propeller design, and engine power.

The word "delta" is borrowed into Russian from Greek (δέλτα). The term is used in various fields of science: linguistics, geography, mathematics and physics, astronomy.

Let's take a closer look at what a delta is.

Delta: values

  1. First of all, delta is the name of the fourth letter of the Greek alphabet (Δ, δ). It comes from the Phoenician "Dalet" - "door", "entrance to the tent" (by external resemblance). It is this letter that is the ancestor of the Latin D and our letter D. In modern Greek, the letter is pronounced as an English voiced th (in ancient Greek it was pronounced in the same way as our D).
  2. The letter δ is used as a symbol to denote variables (together with alpha, beta, gamma) in physics and mathematics. There is also a generalized physical and mathematical Dirac delta function.
  3. The most famous definition of a delta is a part of land between the branches of a river at its mouth. This name is associated with the uppercase Greek letter Δ, because the delta resembles this letter. An example of the use of the word in this sense: "Malbork is a city in the north of Poland in the Vistula delta" (N. M. Karamzin).
  4. Delta is also the colloquial name for the deltoid muscle (shoulder muscle), which is involved in flexion and extension of the arm in the shoulder, abduction of the arm to the side. The name, again, is associated with the triangular shape of the muscle, reminiscent of the Greek letter delta.
  5. Previously, the constellation of the Triangle was called Delta.

As you can see, all meanings of the word are somehow connected with the triangular Greek letter Δ. By the way, an aircraft with triangular wings (delta shape) is called a hang glider.

Paramotors include different solutions to alleviate this effect: Replaced motor anchors, one strap or belt belt longer than the other, asymmetric use of trim and up to two counter-rotating propellers can be seen to cancel the effect of the other.

The subtlety of the paraglider determines the necessary relationship between weight and engine thrust. It should be borne in mind that the weight and volume of the engine will reduce the thinness of the glider. But taking into account the height, humidity and pressure, this calculation is not entirely accurate. Required power, which determines the choice of the size and power of the paramotor, depends on the weight of the pilot and the altitude to which you want to take off normally.
