How to Bypass Windows Administrator Password to Enable Locked Features

Probably, everyone has come across a situation when an account on a computer is protected by a password that you have forgotten for some reason or you simply do not know it.

But do not get lost in trying to guess the password, there are specific proven methods for this, which we will consider in this article below:

2 Safe Mode

If there is a password on the account of the main administrator, then in this case we proceed to the second method. To do this, boot the computer in "safe mode" (for this, when you turn it on, you need to pressF8) and go to the Administrator account. After that, we perform the actions described in the first paragraph. In the event that this method turned out to be ineffective, then we will resort to more radical measures.

3 BIOS and boot disk

We disconnect the computer from the mains power, disassemble the case of the system unit and find on the motherboard a small battery that is responsible for the system memorybios "a.

We take it out and put it aside for ten to fifteen minutes, then insert it back. The next time you start the system, press and hold delete, go to bios and use the F10 key to save all the settings.

The last option should be used if the hidden admin account was initially password protected.

To hack it on the Internet, you can finda large number of special programs that will need to be written to an ordinary floppy disk (ordinary disc).
When you turn on the computer, the disk will boot and run this clever program. The program will remove all passwords from accounts, after which you can easily log into any account.

Nowadays, there are practically no cardinal means of protection against hacking computer devices and gaining access to personal confidential information of the user.

Setting an administrator password is also not such an effective computer protection, since there are at least several ways to hack and bypass it.

Replace the file "sethc.exe" with "cmd.exe"

Step 4. Exit the command console using the "exit" command.

Step 5. We reboot our computer and boot with the usual parameters.

Step 6. Press the "Shift" key five times to launch the command line.

Step 7. Enter "lusrmgr.msc" into the command console and see the administrator's name.

Enter "lusrmgr.msc" into the command console and see the administrator's name

Note: if the account is disabled, it can be activated using the command "net user" Admin_name "/ active: yes"

Step 8. Set a new password - type the command "net user" Admin name "password".

We enter the administrator account with a new password

It should be noted that this method is equally suitable for earlier versions of operating systems.

In such simple ways, you can reset the administrator password on a computer and laptop in Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems.

The videos below will clearly demonstrate how you can still crack the Administrator password.

Reset Administrator password in Windows 7 using a small program

How to reset password when logging into Windows 8

Reset Administrator password in Windows 10

The fact that users (most often computer administrators) protect Windows operating systems from unauthorized use, for example, in their absence at the computer, is not surprising to anyone. However, often the administrator may not give the registered user sufficient rights to perform any actions or set personal settings, and therefore it may be necessary to log into the system with the administrator's registration. Next, let's see how to bypass the password on a Windows 7 computer using a few simple methods. But first, let's figure out in which cases such actions may be extremely necessary.

The most common situations

So, what can happen if the user desperately needs to find out, bypass or reset the Windows password? In the simplest case, such a situation may be due to the fact that the user has trite forgotten and simply lost his own combination, which is used to enter the system. This is understandable, because it is common for any person to forget some things. Ordinary users, clearly not understanding what the matter is, begin to apply the most drastic measures, simply trying to reinstall the system. You should not do this, because even a forgotten Microsoft registration password, which was created during the first installation of the system, can be restored quite simply by contacting the corporation's support service. To do this, you can log in to the official resource from another computer and specify the required data, after which the recovery code will be sent to your mobile number.

The problem looks much worse when the system administrator sets the restrictions on the computer terminal for registered users, for example, so that users do not install any unnecessary software on their own or do not make settings that can harm the system. But even in this case, it is possible to bypass the password, and sometimes you do not need to know the desired combination at all. Finally, you may sometimes need to open files of another computer user that are not shared. For example, an office worker fell ill, you need to get access to his documents, but for his personal reasons he does not want to give his password to Windows to other people.

By and large, in all of the above situations, you can use some, as most experts believe, standard methods that will help you either find out the desired password, or bypass it, or even get rid of the registration record of the computer administrator himself.

What if the password is set in the BIOS?

We will start the actions taken for most cases by considering the simplest options and first of all consider bypassing the Windows 7 administrator password, which is not installed in the OS itself, in the settings of the primary input / output system BIOS, so that the user cannot not only enter the operating environment, but also change the priorities of the primary settings set by the admin himself.

On stationary PCs, resetting the password can be elementary, by removing the CMOS battery for 10-15 minutes, which is responsible for powering the BIOS chip, and then inserting it back. On laptops, this operation looks a little more complicated, since the devices will have to be disassembled. However, if you wish, you can do it, if you are careful not to damage important components on the motherboard itself when removing the cover.

Disable Super Admin on a Running System

Now, somewhat digressing from the main topic, let's briefly dwell on how to disable the built-in account of the so-called super administrator, which by default has the highest priority in all Windows operating systems, starting from the seventh version. To do this, you need to run the command line, but this time it is necessary on behalf of the administrator through the PCM menu, and then execute the command "net user Administrator / active: no" (of course, without quotes). After that, all programs and files can be opened without obtaining permission from the super administrator. The exception in some cases is the command console. UAC will also remain active, but you can lower it.

How to Bypass Windows 7 Login Password: Safe Mode Settings

Now let's go directly to the consideration of the techniques that are applicable in cases where it is impossible to log into the system under a certain "account", including the administrator. How to bypass Windows 7 password in such a situation? Simple too.

To do this, you must use the start in safe mode, which is selected from the boot menu, which is activated immediately before starting the operating system by pressing the F8 key. In the login window, you just need to select the desired registration record. In this case, you will not be prompted for a password. If necessary, after that, you can grant yourself additional rights or use the management of the "account" under which you are logged in, and then set the deletion of the current password.

Bypassing the Windows administrator password when starting from the command console

The start boot menu is also convenient because instead of starting in Safe Mode, you can use start with command line support, which is necessary if a secure login is impossible or violated for some reason.

When the start stops, you will need to enter the combination net user NAME PASSWORD, where NAME is the name of the user for which you need to change the login combination, PASSWORD is the new password. As it is already clear, you do not need to know the old combination, and when you reboot in normal mode, the installed new combination will be requested to enter.

Add and remove accounts at the command line

Now a few more words about how to bypass Windows 7 password on a laptop or desktop PC, which also includes the use of the Shell. Only in this case, the method of adding a user is used with the granting of administrative rights to him by including him in the appropriate group. Again, the console itself is called from the start menu, and then the following commands are sequentially entered and executed with the name and password parameters shown in the previous example (of course, without any punctuation marks at the end):

  • net user NAME PASSWORD / add;
  • net localgroup Administrators NAME / add;
  • net localgroup user NAME / delete.

Bypassing the password in Windows 7, if you look at the commands themselves, is performed by adding a new user (if necessary), adding the selected user to the Administrators group (in Russian-speaking systems, if the command does not work, you must specify the group name in Russian) and deleting the existing user along with all his personal data, including passwords. Even the administrator can be removed with the third command at the start of the computer, and the system will not issue any prohibitions on this.

Disable password requirement at login

In principle, the above methods are cardinal, and they should not always be used. By and large, if we talk about using the command line, to bypass the password in Windows 7, you can use simpler, if I may say so, painless methods (it is clear that when removing an administrator, if this is done on an office computer terminal, a company employee can serious enough problems arise, and you cannot write off the matter here by chance or ignorance). In such a situation, it is easier to use the deactivation of the password requirement at logon, which is set for absolutely all users, including the administrator. On any system, including Windows 7, you can bypass the user's password from the same command line as follows:

  • enter the command control userpasswords2 and press the enter key;
  • disable the requirement to enter a password for the selected user;
  • leave the fields for entering a new combination empty.

The next time you reboot, you will be able to log into such an account without the need for confirmation.

The simplest actions in the registry

Another technique for bypassing a password is associated with some actions in the system registry, however, to an ordinary user, this option may seem somewhat more complicated than the above methods. Nevertheless, you can use such actions, but for this you will need any bootable media available at hand, from which you should boot before starting the main system. After confirming the installation of the language options, you need to go to system recovery and use the command line item (or call the console immediately by pressing Shift + F10).

Now you should call the registry editor (regedit), and then use the loading of the hive in the file menu, being in the HKLM section. For the hive, you need to specify the location C: \ windows \ System32 \ config \ SYSTEM and specify an arbitrary name (for example, three units). Then you need to go to the created section (in our case it will be HKLM111SYSTEM) and change the values of the CmdLine key to cmd.exe, and set the SetupType parameter to a value of two instead of zero. Next, a reboot is performed, but when you enter any account, password bypass in Windows 7 (as well as in any other operating system of this family) can be performed in the automatically launched Shell. This technique does not directly allow cracking the password or bypassing it, but it somewhat simplifies the steps for using the command line. If for some reason you no longer need autorun, simply delete the created partition and reboot the system.

You can also bypass the password in Windows 7 or other systems by loading the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ HIVE_NAME \ SAM \ Domains \ Account \ Users \ 000001F4 hive, where HIVE_NAME is the name of the hive.

Only first, in the SAM section itself, you need to find the key F, and then change its value (11), set by default in line 0038, to ten. Upon completion of all actions, being in the bush, through the file menu, you need to confirm its unloading and reboot the system.

Specialized utilities

Now a few words about programs for bypassing passwords in Windows 7. There are a lot of such utilities on the same Internet, but further we will dwell on the simplest and most interesting applications. It is also not worth neglecting the means of the system itself, therefore, for a start, let us dwell on using the Windows software applet, which in the system is represented by the sethc.exe executable file. When booting from removable media, you will again need to call the command console and first determine the letter of the partition in which the operating system is installed, since in most cases the C drive will be listed as the reserved space. Most likely, the system partition will be designated by the letter D, and to verify this, enter the command "dir d: \". Now you need to register the following commands (without punctuation marks at the end of each of them):

  • copy d: \ windows \ system32 \ sethc.exe d: \;
  • copy d: \ windows \ system32 \ cmd.exe d: \ windows \ system32 \ sethc.exe.

In this way, the toolkit is changed to the command console. After restarting the system in normal mode, when the boot starts, quickly and several times press the Shift key, after which, in the command line, again set the password change for the user (NET USER NAME PASSWORD).

Sometimes computer security experts recommend using a small but rather interesting application called Asterisk Key.

The program first analyzes the Windows 7 password or a combination of access to Internet services (mainly only those that are displayed in the system as asterisks, and not letters, numbers and symbols), and then, by pressing the Recover button, gives them a readable look. Opposite each password there is a link to copy, so to simplify access to something, the combination can be simply copied in the program, and then pasted into the required field for filling.

You can bypass the Windows 7 password from a USB flash drive using the Kon-Boot utility. First, you need to run its installer, and then, using the "Install to USB stick (with EFI support)" item, write it to removable media. Next, in the primary system (BIOS / UEFI), set the USB flash drive as the first boot device, enter the boot menu of the Boot Menu (not to be confused with the start menu called by the F8 key) and use the item "Kon-Boot (CURRENT VERSION)", and after the appearance the program windows in a kind of DOS mode will start the system boot. At the login stage, you can leave the password field blank or enter random characters (Windows will still accept this combination as correct). If a message like "Dummy BIOS detected" appears, you will need to disable Secure Boot on the primary system.

How to view passwords for websites in browsers?

Finally, you can also bypass the Windows 7 password saved in the browser you are using. Any such program has a special section responsible for storing the desired combinations.

For example, in the Opera browser, you can use the button to show all passwords in the security section, then in a new window, when you hover over the site address, click the Show button (initially, all passwords will be presented as asterisks). Thus, the combination can be copied or written down, and later used to access Internet pages and services.

Brief summary

To summarize, it remains only to choose the most acceptable method of bypassing passwords. As most experts believe, extreme measures such as using the registry or other non-standard actions can be used only in cases where the simplest solutions do not help. But the most acceptable option can be called the option of starting the system with the support of the command console, followed by disabling the mandatory password requirement at login, as shown in the corresponding section above.

The use of specialized programs looks somewhat unreasonable only for the reason that they all belong either to the class of viewers or to recovery utilities that help with lost passwords. However, when booting from removable media, to quickly bypass all sorts of restrictions, it is best to use the Kon-Boot application, despite the fact that creating a USB flash drive using its built-in installer may seem somewhat difficult to some users. However, as mentioned above, there are a lot of such programs on the Internet for free download, and some utilities of this type can even be attributed to professional or semi-professional tools. How appropriate is it to use them? It all depends on the complexity of the original problem and the preferences of the users themselves.

Nowadays, there are practically no cardinal means of protection against hacking computer devices and gaining access to personal confidential information of the user.

Setting an administrator password is also not such an effective computer protection, since there are at least several ways to hack and bypass it.

In such simple ways, you can reset the administrator password on a computer and laptop in Windows 7, 8 and 10 operating systems.

Useful video on the topic

The videos below will clearly demonstrate how you can still crack the Administrator password.

Reset Administrator password in Windows 7 using a small program

How to reset password when logging into Windows 8

Reset Administrator password in Windows 10

Each operating system is endowed with a set of protective measures that allow you to ensure the confidentiality of user data. One of these standard tools is a regular password set to boot computers, system files, folders, etc. But this means of protection against unauthorized access does not always fulfill its role in full. In life, there are situations when users themselves forget the set of secret symbols they have previously entered and cannot unlock the laptop.

In such circumstances, you will have to use the jailbreak, because otherwise you will not be able to use your device normally. Removing the code can be carried out independently without contacting specialists. The main thing is to understand all the currently existing methods of hacking and choose the most suitable one for yourself.

Before resorting to such a radical method, make sure that your set of secret symbols is lost and cannot be used for any reason. Check all previously used passwords and try to remember which one might be suitable in the current situation.

Important! Also, keep in mind that logon problems can be created from the Caps Lock on or off.

If it is impossible to restore the lost code or inability to remember it, you will have to use one of the below named instructions:

  • resetting your Microsoft account password online;
  • changing the password of the local Windows account offline;
  • cracking a password using the Windows command line;
  • using the Windows Password Key utility.

These are the main and most effective methods, which in most cases lead to success. After applying one of them, your laptop will work in standard mode and will not have any major modifications in the system. Only the Password or Username of the account can be changed.

Method number 1. Change the password of the Windows account through the official Microsoft website

Microsoft makes extensive use of services to identify and authorize user accounts. To do this, the person is invited to register on one of the company's domains (@ hotmail.com, @ passport.com, @ outlook.com, etc.), create an e-mail and come up with a password.

Therefore, if you cannot log into the system from your laptop, then you will need any electronic device that has access to the Internet to solve the described problem:

  1. Sign in to the official Microsoft website.

  2. Click on the sign "Login" in the upper right corner of the web page interface.

  3. The system will prompt you to enter the email, phone or Skype that you specified when registering your account.

  4. Then click on the "Forgot your password" message, as your previous data has been lost and must be replaced.

  5. The system will open the account recovery web page for you. Initially enter the characters shown in the figure and follow the instructions below.

  6. To verify your identity, the automated service will send a security code to your mobile phone. If you did not indicate your number during registration, then put a tick in front of the field "I do not have this data".

  7. Next, you will need to enter an e-mail that is different from the one you want to restore. Create a new or use an existing email address for Microsoft to contact you. Click Next.

  8. The service will prompt you to fill out a short questionnaire. Try to write answers to all the positions that appear. If you do not know the correct answer to a particular item, then try to guess it.

  9. Based on the results, the system will determine whether you are really trying to log into your account. If the result is positive, then an official form with the ability to create a new password will be sent to your email address.

At the same time, if you linked a phone to your account, then the PASSWORD update process will be much easier and faster. This way, you can use your laptop smoothly again in just a few minutes.

Important! Please be aware that this password change can occur using smartphones, tablets and other electronic devices. The main thing is that they have access to the Internet.

Method number 2. Resetting the password of a local account

In the event that you did not create a Microsoft account, then your laptop or PC should have local system protection tools. An offline account is required to authenticate the user and provide access to his personal data and settings. The password from it cannot be recovered. However, it seems possible to find out him by answering security questions.

Note! Security questions are provided in version 1803 of Windows 10. If you added them to your account when you created it, you can use this hacking method.

If a different version of Windows is installed on the laptop or the security questions were not completed by you at all, then the only way to hack is to reset the system parameters to factory settings.

  1. Start the device, and after it boots up, click on the "Shutdown" icon in the lower right corner of the lock screen.

  2. Hold down the "Shift" key on your laptop keyboard and select the "Restart" or "Restart" command.

  3. In the "Advanced Options" window that opens, click on the gear to configure the Windows boot properties.

  4. Select the "Troubleshoot" action.

  5. Next, issue a command to the system to return the computer to its original state.

  6. Click Remove All. After this action, all personal files, applications, settings will be uninstalled.

The laptop will restart and restore to factory settings. Thus, after a system reset, you will no longer be asked for "Password" and "Username". Windows will offer to create a new account, the password for which you can choose yourself.

Important! Please note, however, that after these steps all data, programs and settings will be deleted.

Method number 3. Hacking Windows 10 password without using third-party programs

This measure is used exclusively for cracking local account codes. You only need to resort to standard Windows tools and follow the instruction, which consists of many steps.

One of the disadvantages of this method is the requirement to use a bootable Windows 10 flash drive (Live USB). Any version must be placed on the USB stick. It may not match the one installed on the laptop.

  1. Start the device using Live USB, that is, insert the USB flash drive into a special connector on the laptop and press the power button. The utility will offer you options for further development of events. Do not click on the "Next" button, but hold down the "Shift + F10" keys, and wait for the console to appear.

  2. In the “Admin cmd” interface, enter the text command “regedit” and press the “Enter” key.

  3. The window of the Registry Editor will be highlighted in front of you. It is a built-in Windows application. Through it, it is possible to view and make changes to the operation of all parameters of the computer.

  4. Select the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" directory.

  5. In the menu that opens, click on the "File" inscription and issue the command to load the bush file into the registry.

  6. Go to the “SAM” Security Accounts Manager by alternately opening the directories “C:” → “Windows” → “System32” → “config” → “SAM”.

    On a note! It can be found through the standard explorer. Only the letter of the local drive can differ, but the address will always be the same.

  7. Define any section name for the bush you uploaded in Latin letters, click "OK".

  8. Open the "Setup" directory, which will be located in the hive you downloaded, namely in the directory under the given name. It contains configuration parameters specific to this computer.

  9. Make a change to the string parameter. Click on the variable "CmdLine" and define the format of the value as "cmd.exe".

  10. Follow the same procedure with the “SetupType” parameter in the same way and define the value of its string parameter with number 2.

  11. Mark the section that you created in point 5 with the left mouse button. After that, in the upper part of the Registry Editor window, find the "File" heading. Go to Unload Hive and confirm the command you specified.

  12. Use the red cross to exit the Registry Editor, console and utility, and then reboot the laptop from the hard drive.
  13. When new processes are launched on login, the user will automatically see the cmd.exe interface. Enter the phrase "net user" in it to open a sheet with all the accounts created on the computer.

  14. From the entire list of local accounts that opens, select the only one whose password you want to change. Fill in the line with the following text: "net user username new password". The administrator cmd.exe will announce to you that the command completed successfully and the password has been changed.

  15. At this stage, the password has already been cracked and to complete the whole process, you will need to open the Registry Editor again. Remove the previously entered value from the "CmdLine" parameter and change the "SetupType" value to 0.

Thus, after successful completion of this instruction, all obstacles to logging into a local account will be removed. You will know the new password or delete it and use the laptop without any security measures.
