International country codes of the world. International country codes of the world 1 region of which country

Probably, it's not a secret for anyone that the spelling of the phone number within the country and in the international format is different. For example, in Russia, to call a mobile phone, we often dial a number in the format 89xxxxxxxxx, but to call Russia from another country, you need to dial the same number, but in the international format. Most of us know that the international code for Russia is +7, and to get a number in the international format, you just need to replace the 8 at the beginning of the number with +7.

But what if you don't know how to convert the number to the international format? Below I will share a simple algorithm for converting a phone number to an international format. So, let's analyze this using the example of the Belarusian phone number.

  • Local phone number 8044771xxxx
  • In the table below we find Belarus. Country code +375 , number length 12 digits.
  • Country code length 3 numbers. We subtract this value from the total length of the number. Happened 9 significant digits in the phone number.
  • Now we take these 9 digits counting from the end of the number. It turns out 44771xxxx
  • All that remains is to add the country code to the beginning of the number: + 37544771xxxx

Ready! The phone number is now in international format.

Also, you can always use our tool for checking and converting numbers at this link.

Russia uses different dialing codes for international and local calls. So international dialing code of Russia+7 (it is used for calls between countries). The "+" sign means that the next international country code will be indicated. And the telephone code of Russia - 8 - is used for calls within the country.

Russia code - origin

There are two explanations why the Russian code is +7. This is popular opinion (popular mainly in Russia) and a scientific explanation.

Here one cannot but rejoice that Russia code+7. This means that we are among the ten most influential countries. But what else, if they have been afraid of us since the days of the USSR.

2. The whole world is divided into 10 geographic zones, which are numbered from 0 to 9. Countries within the zone have international codes starting with the zone digit. Russia is part of Zone 7 (it shares it with Kazakhstan almost in half). By what principle the zones themselves were numbered remains unclear.

Interestingly, you will not find zone 0 anywhere, because according to the standard it was allocated for space objects (Moon, Mars, etc.)

Russia phone code

Any state has its own unique telephone code, which simplifies the system of telephone calls between countries. If the system of assigning each country its own code was not introduced (meaning not only the telephone code of Russia), then either it would be necessary to call on very long telephones or there would be complete chaos with telephone numbers. A thick telephone directory would be indispensable. And it would be even more difficult to determine where the call is from and to process the incoming call. If you even received a call from a neighboring city, then without having phone code of Russia stationary, one would have to refer to the reference book. And how actually in reality:

Russia international code +7 , although within the country from a mobile phone you can dial 8 , but from a landline phone in Russia only 8 , and from a landline phone from abroad only 007 .

So the desire of a person to try to organize everything in this case is justified. True, it was not possible to agree that everything would be unambiguous, as always. There are always several points of view. Or maybe this is good? I am glad that country code Russia- that's for sure 7 .

Which city code? - a question that is very often entered by Internet users in search engines, indicating the first digits of the number. At the same time, I do not think that the people entering it want to find the designation of the regions on the car numbers. The overwhelming advantage of these queries is aimed precisely at finding the numbers that must be entered after the international code of Ukraine (+380) in order to call a city number located in another locality. And if earlier it was possible to dial from mobile phones to fixed-line numbers of your region even without a telephone area code, now it must be indicated. Otherwise, you simply will not be able to connect with the person you are interested in.

Ukraine city codes consist of 2-4 digits, depending on the territorial affiliation and the size of the settlement itself. Theoretically, by the phone number you can immediately determine in which locality the person calling you is located. But the development of technologies, namely IP-telephony, already allows you to use the code of one city, in fact, being in another (although this is contrary to the law). Rather, it is an exception to the rule. Personally, I think that the question "what is the area code?" more often asked by those who are going to call another locality. In any case, the information provided above will be useful for both the first and second variants of events.

According to the table, I think everything is very clear. In the first column you see the names of the settlements, the telephone codes of which are indicated in the third column. The second column is the region (region), on the territory of which the settlement is located. This column will be useful, since in Ukraine there are often settlements with the same name, but in different regions of Ukraine. The telephone codes of such cities in Ukraine, of course, differ. For ease of search for the city (town) you need, you can use the filter above the table. Just start typing its name in the "settlement" field and choose the appropriate option from the list that appears. Then click the "Apply" button.

So you can use the "Phone code" field - enter the code digits in it, select the appropriate option from the list that appears and click "Apply". This way you can quickly find a settlement using the telephone code. As you can see, this is not difficult. So use it for health :). When calling from a mobile phone to the city area code, you can dial both with the Ukraine code (+38) and without it (for example, using the Kiev phone code 044-455-44-55). However, if you are calling while roaming (from another country), then the international dialing format is required! (+380444554455). Otherwise, you simply will not get through. This is the dialing order telephone codes of cities of Ukraine.

  • To call another city from a mobile phone while in Russia, you need to dial +7 (area code) (phone number) or 8 (area code) (phone number);
  • To call another city from Russia from a landline phone, you need to dial 8 (area code) (phone number);

How to call Russia from abroad

Calls from different countries to Russia are made differently. The general principle is this:

  1. You need to dial the code to access an international line. Each country has its own code. For example, for the USA it is 011, for most countries it is 00
  2. Then dial the code for Russia - 7
  3. Then dial the code of the box and the phone number

For example, to call Moscow from the USA, you need to dial 011-7-495-xxx-xx-xx
And to call a mobile phone from the USA, you need to dial 011-7- (operator code) -xxx-xx-xx

Sometimes from a mobile phone, instead of dialing a code to access an international line, you can dial the + symbol, but not all mobile operators support this. For example, +7 (495) xxx-xx-xx

How to call abroad from Russia

  • From a mobile phone: + (country code) (area code) (phone number)
  • From a landline phone: 810 (country code) (area code) (phone number)
    where 810 is an international line prefix.
    For example, to call Minsk (Republic of Belarus) you need to dial 810-375-17-xxx-xx-xx
