We will consider the central locking with electric drives. Devices of this type are divided into 2 types:

  • with positive potential management;
  • with negative potential control.

What is a control signal and why is it needed, you will understand when we consider the principle of operation of the simplest central locking system. As an example, let's take the negative control scheme most common on budget cars. The schematic diagram is taken from the manual for the repair and operation of the Opel Astra F.

How does the simplest central locking system work?

You can immediately see that a 5-wire activator is installed in the driver's door. Some car manufacturers, wanting to save money, do not install a control servo in the driver's door, but only a button.

What we see in the diagram:

  • S41 - limit switch located at the driver's door lock cylinder. When the key is turned to unlock or lock, a minus potential is supplied to the central locking unit for a short time (about 1 sec.).
  • S42 - passenger front door end switch.
  • M18, M19, M20, M32 - activators in the doors. M41 - lock for locking the gas tank flap, M60 - trunk servo drive; For the servos to work, 2 wires are enough, which are called power wires. The potential difference across these wires starts the engine, which moves the lock rod. Depending on which of the wires will be - and which +, the motor will spin in one direction or the other. The third wire (blue-black) is required for a standard alarm to control the status of the locks.
  • K37 - central locking control unit. For the unit to work, a constant + and mass are required. Two signal wires (white-brown and brown) come from the passenger actuators to the unit. In the idle mode, they have a small positive potential. The appearance of a minus on one of the wires provokes closing, on the second - opening. It is this minus signal that determines whether the central lock is controlled by minus or plus. Depending on which of the wires appears on, the unit supplies voltage of the required polarity to the power wires.

This is how the simplest central locking system works, which does not even react to whether the driver's door is open or closed. The simplest central locking control unit works according to the scheme of two 5-wire relays. How to realize remote control

The remote control unit from Aliexpress, which attracts with its low cost, has recently gained great popularity. Using a block of this type, you can connect the remote control to the standard system or equip the auto central locking system with your own hands, having previously purchased 4 two-wire activators. Of course, there can be no talk of any car theft protection. Such a low-cost central locking control unit can only perform a service function.

Pressing a button on the key fob replaces the physical turn of the key in the lock cylinder for unlocking and locking the car. Receiving the signal, the control unit applies voltage to the power wires. Only 6 wires are responsible for the operability of the block and car locks:

  • constant +, protected by a fuse (in our case - 15A);
  • weight;
  • 2 power wires going to the servomotors;
  • 2 control wires.

The rest of the wires are connected for light signaling, glass closers, etc .; separately, you can power the opening of the trunk or the fuel filler flap.

The unit under consideration can be implemented not only in a standard system with minus or plus control, but also in a central locking system with a vacuum drive. An instruction is included with the remote control unit, which allows you to connect the system in parallel with the standard central locking unit. In this case, the functionality of the factory control unit remains.

Connection

The positive wire can be pulled directly from the battery by installing a 15A fuse as close to the battery as possible, or taken from a protected circuit in the fuse box. The current consumption depends on the power and the number of central locking servo drives. We recommend that you read how to calculate the fuse rating. Any bolt screwed to the car body can serve as a mass.

If you connected the wires, but when you press the "close" button, the activators open the locks, swap the power wires (in our case, white and white-black).

A blue wire comes out of the central locking remote control unit for unlocking / closing the trunk, on which a "minus" appears when the button is pressed. Instructions for reinstalling the standard remote control

  1. The radio control panel is removed to the steering wheel by removing the bolts.
  2. The connector is removed from it.
  3. The remote control is disassembled by unscrewing three screws.
  4. Resistors of certain ratings are soldered on the control board using a soldering iron.
  5. The ribs are cut in the cover of the remote control, and we assemble it back.
  6. One wire from the mini-jack is soldered into the central entrance, the other into the side one. The wires are insulated with electrical tape.
  7. In the car, the connector from the radio is cut, stripped, connected to the mini-jack on the terminals and insulated as well.
  8. The mini-jack is connected to the radio tape recorder through the connector in the rear wall of the equipment case.

  • The steering wheel is removed.

  2. The airbag is removed.
  3. In the extended steering wheel group, there are three wires - for the signal and two for the radio control panel.
  4. The wires from the steering wheel group are connected with wires from the radio (there are also three of them).
  5. The remote control, airbag and steering wheel are put in place.
  6. Installation and programming of the adapter for car radio control on the steering wheel:
  • The central panel (beard) is removed;
  • The radio tape recorder is taken out;
  • The black wire from the green / yellow steering knob connects to the black wire of the adapter;
  • Blue wire of a yellow-green chip with a green wire from the control module (not blue);
  • The red wire of the adapter connects to the red power wire from the radio;
  • A mini-jack or infrared port is used to connect to an audio system;
  • The adapter is secured with clamps under the radio;
